Is 5:3 The last verse of the Qur'an?

In 53 we read This Day, the rejecting opponents have given up the hope of eradicating your DEEN, System of Life. Clear distinction in matters of the Lawful and the Unlawful draws a tangible line between their ways and your way. Fear them not but fear Me. This Day, I have perfected your DEEN for you, completed My favor upon you, and chosen for you Islam as the System of Life. (There is no hardship in Islam (2185)).
Can this verse be taken as the last verse of the Qur'an or is there more to it?

I am not sure what is the importance of which was the last verses. Only Sunnis and Shias see a timeline in the Koran. Since they believe in abrogation they try to formulate a pretended timeline by saying this verse came first or this verse came before that verse. As far as I am concerned the last verse is the verse at either the end of the Koran or the beginning since the Quran is made for reading and if you read it from one end to another the last verse is either the first of the Koran or the last. The people who compiled the Koran did not bother about chronology but placed the chapters based mostly on length. The Koran itself does not bother about chronoly so why sould we?
If you are just asking for curiosity than there are several candidates for that and not just one. Like the verse that talks about achieving victory over the pagans of Mecca and people entering the religion in droves. Or the verse that says today I have completed your deen or maybe a few other verses could also IMPLY that it could be the final verse revealed or at least among the last. But theologically the Koran does not care about chronology and that is what seperates us from the Sects..

Thanks Bigmo and I agree. An Ismaili sarcastically asked,on another forum, that if you thnk you have the final Quran, why it did not end at 53? Her issue was that Muslims only think they have the complete Quran!! She probably meant Ali and descendant Imams have the complete version! !

Interesting but then again Sunnis are no different. They believe verses from the Koran went missing as the case with the supposed verse that said adulterers should be stones and something about breast suckling. The hadith of Sunnis says a goat confused ran away with the verse wen t the prophet dies and therfore it was not included in the Koran.
We are only responsible to what comes to us anyways. I think many Shias and Ismailis can not understand why the Koran never mentioned Ali and the rest of Muhammad's descendants. But here in this forum we know there is a lot of things not mentioned by the Koran that these sects follow. They mix history with faith and are occupied with past Quranic events that have nothing to do with the message of the Koran.
