Salaam everyone.
I'm new to this forum but i want to introduce myself firstly. Ill try to keep it short yeah
Anywayz im a born muslim and I come from a kind of strict Shia family. In my younger years i had many Sunni friends and went to mostly a Sunni mosques (pray not learn). So i got into the whole Sunni idea way of life. I also attended christian schools for probably 12/13 years? So im very familiar with Christianity and also have read the Bible (OT & NT).
Anywayz when i was about the age of 18 i kinda started figuring out that there is something completly wrong with the "Islam" that is practized in "Islamic" countries. So i went in a deeper research and read many things about hadiths and the science of hadiths etc.
It never crossed my mind that people really believe that these are authentic and thats it. But when i tell for example my sunni connections about a hadith which kind of contradicts the Quran. They would tell me NO THIS IS AUTHENTIC, You have no right to say that. It became so bad that they told me that if i wont believe in the "authentic" hadiths that its Haram (forbidden).
Well i couldnt really fit with that idea of this is authentic and if the hadith says this is haram than it must be Haram. But then i started thinking, if this is haram why isint it mentioned in the Quran? God said to us i have perfected your relegion (Islam = Iman + Ihsan) Why do we need some rules which the prophet didnt even agree on? Isint the Quran enough?
So mainly because I know alot about Christianity and history of the Bible etc, i think the Islami ummah is going the same way as Christians. I dont believe that all the hadiths are authentic, but i do believe that there are some hadiths which might be true. Someone has to look deeply just to find out if 1 certan hadith is right, i mean check the chain, naration, how many muslim "sects" can confirm this hadith etc. So i think that about 94% of the hadiths (bukhari, muslim etc) are just fabrication which came 300 years after the prophet.
But i dont understand why these are still accepted by the Muslim "scholars" most of them contradict everything Islam teaches, appostasy for example. Having a beard otherwise your a kaffir.... I really think if something was mandotory it would be in the Quran right? -\
So when i shared this story to my friend he told me you know what you are going the wrong way your becoming a Quranist. I didnt really know what that meant at the time, but once i knew what it meant, I was kinda releaved that im not the only one that really uses his brain and not base his judgment on what has been written centuries after the Prophet died. After a while i started rejecting most hadiths with ease, no backup from the quran? Straight fabrication! And now i found this Forum I really see the believe in hadiths very similiar to Christianity.

There probably are extra-Quranic hadiths that contain truth. However, AQ states that it is enough for a believer, fully detailed, explained in detail, and protected. In short, the only hadith that belong in the Deen are the hadith contained in AQ!

i sure can relate to your story! except born into a 'sunni' family, came to understand the koran from a shia, went to catholic schools....
most people don't know and just believe, accepting what they hear. many don't question. as we are told it is wrong to question.
hadiths are not the sayings of the prophet at all. they are the sayings of someone who supposedly heard or saw the prophet. we need to give proper definitions and define things for what they are.
