Need for Scholars?

Salam Friends
9122 With all this, it is not desirable that all of the believers take the field . From within every group in their midst, some shall refrain from going forth to war, and shall devote themselves to acquiring a deeper knowledge of the Faith. and teach their home-coming brethren, so that these might guard themselves against evil.
9122 It is not possible for the believers to go forth (from their homes learning for religious learning) all together. Then, why should not a party from every section of them go forth, that they may (learn and) become well-versed in religion, and may warn their people when they return (home) to them, so that they too may guard against (unislamic ways of life).
Two translations with different meanings over destination and purpose of a group of Muslims venturing out. One believes destination is battlefield, the other believes destination is for acquiring knowledge.
Question Does this suggests that there be a group of "scholars" among Muslims to teach Deen? In this day and age with scores of sectarian scholars, how can we select the best one?
Thanks.

You need a scholar apparently. Or you can be your own scholar. Reasoning is more important than corrupted Qurans with corrupted translations, and you don't need to be a scholar to have it.
Both translations are wrong to some extent at least.
Islam isn't a religion.
Faith is not part of Islam. -
9122 It is not advisable for those who
acknowledge to march out in their
entirety. For every battalion that marche
out, let a group remain to study the
system, and warn their people when the
return to them, perhaps they will be
cautious. -
Sharing a reply from Javed Ghamdi's Al Mawrid Organisation (which seems to suggest that the verse applies to Muslims of the Messengers's Era
assalaam o alaykum
We believe that the verse says that it was not possible for all the believers to leave their homes and join the company of the Prophet (sws) who was a source of knowledge of religion and equipped themselves of the required knowledge. Then why not a party came out and fulfilled the task and then returned to hometown to warn their people. This going out is for the purupose of religious knowledge. This is explained in clear terms in the later part of the verse which explicitly states the purpose.

9122 It is not possible for the believers to go forth (from their homes learning for religious learning) all together.
Which city of the world was more suitable than their own city at that time for religious learning. Thus this is patently a false translation.

How naive! Those who sat back will teach guarding againt evil to those who demonstrated the greatest sincereity by exposing their lives to be killed. Strange. Status and rank of those who participate in war for the cause of Allah is greater than those who do not participate for some reason. Hence this translation is also faulty.
