Have you noticed that you are the one who has titled Layth as imam here ?? why are you inventing such things which noone here ever mentioned ? Have you ever asked yourself ? What is your intension ? I think you should realize that you are desperatly trying to put false atributes to others just to make your point or should I say satisfy yourself.

I don't know about the rest, but I don't ask questions here considering the answer I get is a commandment from a prophet/God. I just discuss to see other people's understanding.

Noone here secretly thinks they are an Imam, and noone here secretly believes they are. We come here to seek ideas from others and we VERIFY THEM OURSELVES. Allah is our guide.
Anyway the idea of an Imam seems contradictory to what most of us seem to believe.

The word "Imam" is just a title for someone who is learned. And we all know that Layth is learned. Just take a look at his fatwa.

This is what the quran says about Alims
They are people of scholarly knowledge and not Mullahs of the so called traditional muslims.

YUSUFALI Seest thou not that Allah sends down rain from the sky? With it We then bring out produce of various colours. And in the mountains are tracts white and red, of various shades of colour, and black intense in hue.
PICKTHAL Hast thou not seen that Allah causeth water to fall from the sky, and We produce therewith fruit of divers hues; and among the hills are streaks white and red, of divers hues, and (others) raven-black;
SHAKIR Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the cloud, then We bring forth therewith fruits of various colors; and in the mountains are streaks, white and red, of various hues and (others) intensely black?035.028
YUSUFALI And so amongst men and crawling creatures and cattle, are they of various colours. Those truly fear Allah, among His Servants, who have knowledge for Allah is Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving.
PICKTHAL And of men and beasts and cattle, in like manner, divers hues? The erudite among His bondmen fear Allah alone. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Forgiving.
SHAKIR And of men and beasts and cattle are various species of it likewise; those of His servants only who are possessed of knowledge fear Allah; surely Allah is Mighty, Forgiving.Thanks and Salaams all.

And what is an alim?.
An Alim is the one who knows everything in the heavens and on the earth, and everything in between and an Alim is one who knows the hidden secrets of all.Is there any man of this nature, The ALIM anywhere in the present? Or was ever present? Or you hope to see an ALIM in the furture ? No! Obey Allah and be of learning nature to be a mumin. Never as a man you call yourself, an ALIM.

Dear Ansar,
This site is used as a forum for discussions between equals. In your environment this may be something unheard of, but for many of us here, there are no priests. You must try to understand that.
You also seem to be lost without ?fatwa? from your priests.
Please try to imagine an existence, as described by God, no priests, no ?boss?, besides God.
Or do you not believe in the words of God, only the words of your priests?Best regards
