Yes, he might as well have performed his contacts with God Almighty (not the ritual namaz, but the contacting God in general)

Salat was first revealed to Abraham/isaac/Jacob 2173
Salat/contacting God was revived during Moses's time (2014)
People then lost salat/contacting God (1959)
Salat was Re-revived and established to Muhammed (16123)

No where in that verse does it say they were the first

Well, this is the first instance where the salat was revealed.
Notice that it was Abraham that named us "muslims" (227
and notice that it is "follow the religion of Abraham--monothiesm" (395)
Thus we could conclude that Abraham was the first

That's most likely a bad translation. I wouldn't trust it.

The fact that it's translated to religion instead of deen makes me doubt it's whole accuracy.
Islam is a deen and not a religion.

And no that doesn't mean he was the first.

It's just like saying, " It's the belief of your brother Youssef "
or " The belief of your brother Kaiokenred"

It doesn't imply he was the first imo, especially since there were more prophets before him

It is mistranslated as "contact prayer"
It is "salawatak" which would mean your "ways/contacts/ones in touch with"
God would be one of the "contacts" of Shu3aib, and he would be the one ordering them to leave what their fathers served and not to do with their money as they pleased.

Seems following Salat is opposed to following one's lusts, and lusts could be all those things which are based on selfishness, "I-ness" instead of "we-ness", basic instincts, things that do not benefit the collective.

Of course, this is just my own thinking, and I may be wrong, but I find it hard to believe that Ibraham was the first to uphold Salat. I think the difficulty lies in seeing what Salat is. Is it actually so hard for human beings to uphold the Salat on their own, without external guidance? Is it not possible to be naturally inclined towards Salat... to do it naturally... or is it too difficult due to our free will and our shaiytanic characteristic of the mind?

                    peace

Salat to me, would have the meaning around "Contacting God/Contact Prayer/service"
The purpose of salat is to remember God 2014, we could do it while walking or riding in some situations(2239), however, its purpose does not change
I don't believe in the traditional 2,4,4,3,4 rak'a traditional sala, but a more liberal salat as to say.

How do you remember Allah? I mean, in what way? Is it like thinking about the existence of Allah or contemplating on Allah's design or..?

Where is the open mindedness and respect for others?
God himself spoke "Establish Salat for my remembrance" (2014)

If you remember God a lot that's good. That's the point of doing salat.

                            salat is not really prayer.
I can pray any time of the day.... i.e invoking God.
i could only do 3 salats per day, as per my understanding.

I am not advocating the ritualistic 2,4,4,3,4 traditional salat, which might be focusing on the number of movements rather than being sincere and taking your time to remember God.
I would be advocating the liberal for of salat, where you stand, speak moderatley, contact God, as if contacting someone on the phone, but being sincere and humble, and ending with a prostration. That would be close to my way of doing salat.

If you don't worship God, that's your belief.
To say, God Almighty would be the only one worthy of worship.

Of course, this is just my own thinking, and I may be wrong, but I find it hard to believe that Ibraham was the first to uphold Salat.

The problem is clear, but again, none are as blind as those who care not to see. If we choose to interpret ''salat'' as a method of communication with Allah, may it be ritualistic or not, and say that Abraham was the first one to do it, then we must judge prophet Noah's story within the Qu'ran as absolute conjecture.

Allah never changes his sunnah, and thus, that prophet Abraham was the first person to uphold ''salat'' is to say that he was the first human being on this earth.

This is just one of the many flaws within your interpretations.

I find it not very sincere on your part to try to justify your way of doing ''salat'' using the Qu'ran, while we both very well know the true reason of why you think it is the closest to being authentic.

939 - As for the ones, who departed reason and became disordered as a consequence of love of lusts. Wouldn?t their future continue to overcome, conquer, prevail and rule over them.

People translate Salat as a "Prayer" because maybe it would seem as a prayer, however, we do not need to pray to God during salat, we could glorify, praise God and recite other verses about his qualities and magnify God.
Du'a is supplication = what you think of as "praying"
Whether you believe in physically worshiping God not, When it's Resurrection day time, we will see some humbleness and obedience shown to God Almighty, whether you call it worship or servitude.

Salat would be first establish by Abraham. not the previous prophets.
Please consider what you statesd as "Allah never changes his sunnah" ?

This is not the case with Religious rights however.
God Almighty commanded different laws in the Torah and Gospels and Quran.... This would not fit into "God doesn't change his system"
"Then we revealed to you this scripture, truthfully, confirming previous scriptures, and superseding them. You shall rule among them in accordance with God's revelations, and do not follow their wishes if they differ from the truth that came to you. For each of you, we have decreed different laws and rites. Had God willed, He could have made you one congregation. But He thus puts you to the test through the revelations He has given each of you. You shall compete in righteousness. To God is your final destiny?all of you?then He will inform you of everything you had disputed. (54

I'm not sure what you mean. I said that I don't feel Abraham was the first, for the same reasons you just gave. I agree with what you just wrote... that provided Salat is some sort of communication, it would be odd to think Abraham was the first to use it. But then again, it all depends on what Salat actually is... and that is not clear... not to me at least. So what you quoted of my earlier post actually agrees with you response... and therefore I can't see how THAT is one of my so called flaws of interpretations. We say the same thing! The only difference as I see it then, is our take on whether Salat is a type of communication or not. What is your understanding of Salat bytheway?

                                          Retarded purpose.

I remember Allah a lot and have never prayed.

Such eloquent wisdom. I guess you have never repented and asked for forgiveness from God for your transgressions? Because that is a form of prayer too. Never asked for guidance from Him? Never asked for help from Him? Those are prayers too.
