Hi.
I realized that its so obesly wrong to call Muhammed for Holy.
I just cant see that any muslim ever should call a prophet for holy. Anyway who then should be holy.. All the prophets or just Muhammed.
We dont hear the claim theThe Holy prophet Jesus, but only the Holy Prophet (Muhammed)I saw some Jamaat e islami having a banner with the text We condemn west on blasphemy against our Holy Prophet.
It just came to my mind, that the one really being blasphemic, is them selves.Just want to know if Im totally wrong in my observations.. What do you think

I tend to agree. I don't understand why people elevate others as holy, why people celebrate prophets' and saints' birthdays, why people go to prophets' and saints' graves and shrines etc etc etc.
I find it utterly useless. Those chaps are out of the world, and if we choose to learn from them, then still we do not need to 'pay respect' to them and elevate them to the sky. Elevating a character has nothing at all to do with following someones wise teaching or so. People badly mix up cherishing the message vs cherishing the messenger. They are two quite opposite things.We have ourselves, our flaws, our minds and Allah. We should work hard on improving ourselves and praying to Allah for success in this. We should cut the crap and get real. But people like to live in fairy land and love to tell each other tales of narnia.
What is 'holy' anyway? It's a useless word. It has come to be a label for things that people elevate beyond reason and subsequently don't allow to be questioned. That's what 'holy' has come to mean. 'Holy' is the description of people's dear and untouchable queens, kings, swords, goblets and magic books of fairy land.
People use 'holy' when they refer to something they worship (also unknowingly). 'Holy' is just an intensifier. It is used when people want to show what they hold dearly, close to their hearts... even if it is just a mental image stemming from fairy tales of people long ago dead. Even worse... people take items and objects as holy, especially pieces of teeth, hair or other body parts, or pieces of clothing, that allegedly (correct or false) belonged to a prophet, saint or similar. brickwall

Holy smoke! Holy cow!
We can call anything we want " holy" , It does not make it " holy".
Unless , of course , we want to describe something with " holes" in it.

Offcouse we can call thing what we like to call them.
But... If you see someone else than God as Holy. You are a polytheist. And then cant call yourselves for Muslim.
I realized that Shia/Sunni call Muhammed for Holy. There are some blasphemic laws in Pakistan that if you offence Muhammed, you can be acused for Blasphemi.
Again How can you be blasphemic against any other than God.
The one really are being Blasphemic is the one who makes blasphemic laws concerning Muhammed.

But hell breaks loose when you are blasphemic against the egos and rulings of the human beings that have "authority". THAT is really unforgivable and you'll end up chopped to pieces.
Who cares about God? Not many of the religious people at least. They just care that you conform to their sect standards and not hurt the egos of the sect leaders. Astaghfirullah. -

Blasphemi is against a person(Muhammed)... And they call themselves the true followers.They should actually start killing themselves for being Blasphemic.

The babylonians condemned Abraham for blasphemy against their holy idols.. and (tried to) burn him to death.

Dear pakki wilayti maam, and yarra, menu patha eh ke you are a colorful kuri! However, my urdu/hindi is quite weak and my punjabi is bordering non-existent. It typically gets pulled out of the drawer for emergency use. laugh
I used to have my tea pure style... no chini, no dudh.... but then I got introduced and accustomed to dudh patti, and haven't been able to break loose ever since...

Mera gaon is not in the subcontinent, but I have had the privilege to live there for some time... a wonderful experience that has added color to my life. There are many totally different worlds in this world, and yet people are all the same - amazing! Aur aapka 'ranga rang kuri'-ness ke bare mein.. it's just something that one can sense... from the posts, from the overall vibration, from the purani khoi-hui tasveer that was replaced by the naya funpara laugh . Aur mujhe malum hai that you too know about being ranga rang. -

I haven't been to India, insh'Allah, I will go one day. When I do go, I will definitely be there for a few months. I might even throw in a trip to Bangladesh when I'm there too! But I went to Pakistan about four years ago and it was wonderful. I fell in love with the place. I had gone there almost two decades earlier and had hated it, but I really learned a lot about life whilst there-the hardships people face, happiness, survival, humanity, inhumanity, everything across the board, and I keep it in my heart. I used to think I was grateful to God, but after going there, I truly became grateful to God! Whereabouts did you go?
And for someone who described their Urdu as "weak"-your Urdu is fantastic!
And yes, I am glad you appreciate my artistic talent!

Yaaaar, the matter of the gaon can be a serious one!... many times a very central issue to people... as I have come to learn. I'm not from west, but rather north, as I insist in calling it. I flatly refuse to be from west. To be more precise, and to ease your curiosity ), my dear watan is Sweden.... but I now see myself as a desi-whatever-swede misfit. Sometimes I feel I don't fit in anywhere.... and I'm not saying the problem lies in me. It just is. I carry traits from both the cold north and the warm southeast. I'm a hopeless mix, and I love it. I try to nurture the best traits from each temperament.... I'm not sure whether I'm successful or not, but I cherish the opportunity.
I was living in Rawalpindi/Islamabad and in Lahore, and got a chance to mix with all sorts of people, from all walks of life, the whole spectrum, and many different nationalities as well. It was a very valuable time as it enabled me to see myself and my background... something everyone should do... but you cannot unless you get out of your own cultural setting, whether locally or globally. Pakistan can be a heaven on earth, if people would just stop f*****g it up. To aapka gaon kidher hai? Where did you visit four yrs back?
My urdu comes across as fantastic-in-relation-to-weak, because I'm learning new words just to post to you! I'm cheating. I'm adding the new words to my humble and basic knowledge of the language... and besides, I love urdu... I just haven't payed due attention to it... I have neglected it, leaving it in it's infancy... but I do love it... it's beautiful, and it's actually not that difficult.

Yes, I know what you mean about the "identity" thing, as I'll term it. My parents are Pakistani (Punjabi) with bit of Indian Gujerati thrown in. I was born in England and have always lived here. However, I am English, but I'm not English and I am Pakistani but I'm not Pakistani, and sometimes I'm even Indian. (I hope the Indian/ Pakistani security services aren't privy to this website!) I would say, along with others, I am an amalgamation of sorts. In this global era, we're all so many things. I would say I'm a mixture of things because although I may come from a certain ethnic group, my influences, as most people's these days, reach far beyond the parameters of where we are physically located. Why would I choose to limit myself in terms of culture and world experience, why would anybody. I could a bit Italian, a little bit of Chinese, a mish mash of Arab with a sprinkle of Persian.
Oh, Rawalpindi, Islamabad. Oh, the trips I had, cruising down Airport Road and Murree Road, going down to Satellite Town, climbing up Margalla Hills to go to The Monal. I swear I was in Heaven. Surely, Heaven is Pakistan! I also stayed in Lahore too. I love Lahore. The major cities each have such different feel to them. Lahore tugs at my aristic soul. Islamabad, I do like, but I would say is much more pretentious. Unfortuately, I didn't get to go to Karachi this time around, I had the opportunity of going for the day, which I thought was a little pointless. I hated it when I went as a child, but I think more than anything, it was a huge culture shock, being in a big metropolis, for a simple little village girl, from Yorkshire, like me. Insh'Allah, next time. Yes, it's interesting that you mention the diversity of Pakistan. It is so very diverse and so welcoming. Ever since going, I have been telling friends and acquaintances to go there. I should work for Pakistan's Tourist Board. I've even offered them to come with me and stay in one of my houses, but with these attacks happening left right and centre, they refuse to come-they would rather go to India!
I love Urdu poetry. If you want any suggested reading, give me a shout and I will write you a list!
