An Affirmation of the Degrees of Punishment, is in 738, where God Almighty Specifically state sthat to each is double the punishment (I do not know of whether each of the 7 gates have exponential degrees of punishment of multiple).

Also, you are correct about the Quran mentioning heaven in Examples and not in the literal.Moreover, one major category i overlook was the people in the "Purgatory(ف."
They're cited in (746). We do not know what kind of nature they're in, nor why they're there, but and their Destiny is fortunate because they will end up going into Heaven 749. -

Purgatory has always been a bit of a mystery but from what they say and do on Judgement Day, they speak like believers and recognize each group, so they obviously have knowledge of God and of what He has taught in His Revelations. My "speculation" is they are probably people who believed but died before the age of 40. Thus they are not being Judged solely on the Record and works of their life.

I would Also think that these people might have not have had enough time in order to hear the truth or be warned etc.
Imagine that there are may still be Tribes living around the Amazon river today which have 0 contact with the outside word. Same goes with other secluded groups of people. Thus the purgatory is a kind of "Stand-by" between the Heavens and Hell. -

In AQ 738, it seems that the denizens of hell petition for the punishment to be increased for each other voodoo, and ALLAH grants that everyone in hell gets double the original punishment. It doesn't seem to be tiered based on level of sin. However, ALLAH is Most Merciful and the Best Judge. Whether tiered or not, all will get exactly what they deserve. By conventional wisdom (such as it is) two times infinity is still infinity.

Note that telling lies is mentioned in AQ more than twice any other category.
There is also the category of "more astray"

More astray is not guarantee of a different end; the astray are called wicked in 2850.
Also worth mentioning
986 Those who rejected from the people of the Book and the polytheists are in the fires of Hell abiding therein, those are the worst of creation.
Although they are worst of creation, they may not have the worst punishment reserved for them ~exclusively~. Do you punish the murderer of 33 people any different than the murderer of 32 people? Who gets the worst punishment according to AQ?
274 As for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made their work appear pleasing to them, so they walk around blind.
275 They will have the worst retribution, and in the Hereafter they are the biggest losers.

Salam,
Another point is that "Righteous" really means "God Conscious". They are described in Quran as believers who uphold and apply Gods commandments in their lives and thats what renders them "righteous".
Its not really "good people" but people who do good while believing for God. "Good" works, credited to us on Judgement Day are only accepted from the Righteous, not just anyone. See 527
God rewards all works in this life done by anyone, but its only the righteous works done while believing that count on Judgement Day. See 1115,16

Another speculation is that on the Day of judgment, it can be concluded that humans will not be earth bound by this verse 1014. Humans will be like butterflys (e.g not bound to earth) -

If you were certain at the time that it was the absolute truth and you had proof that you saw as sufficient then, no it is not a sin. What will be a sin is if you CLEARLY knew in your heart something to be false and then say that it is truth to create mischief.
242 Do not obscure the truth with falsehood, nor keep the truth secret while you know.
371 ...... why do you dress the truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know?
378 From amongst them is a group that twists their tongues with the book so that you may count it from the book, while it is not from the book, and they say it is from God while it is not from God, and they knowingly say lies about God.In order to knowingly say lies about God you must have known the truth from the beginning. If the truth you had believed(and INVESTIGATED CRITICALLY) in the beginning was false and you could not have known it any other way, why would God punish a person for such???
Guidance comes in stages. No one, not even messengers will suddenly wake up one morning and correctly interpret the entire Quran.

I would understand your view. I'm sorry, however, i was not meaning to be arrogant and saying i know. These understandings is what i could derive out of the verses.
Yes God Almighty knows best.
In some things however, God Almighty cites what's going to happen, like about punishment, and 7 gates of hell, and 2 heavens..... we might not be 100% right, but we would be close to being right about heaven and hell, than wrong....
God knows best yes
