I am conducting a study, and answering these questions would help me develop it.

1 - Were you born and raised by a religious muslim family ?

2 - Aside from finding the wrong in today's Islam (hadiths), which most see as the direct and irrefutable guidance from the One, why have you decided to affiliate yourself with the philosophy, or the spirituality, or the religion of islam ?

3 - Do you think the quran is a book of law and subsequently subscribe to moral relativism, or rather do you think it is simply a reminder, because morality is shared and universal ?

4 - If you are a religious muslim, what in your opinion, is the use of the Quran ?

5 - If rather, you view islam as a philosophy, what in your opinion is the use of the Quran ?

6 - Do you pray ? If yes, why ?

7 - Do you think prayer is a concept that has any quranic grounding ?

8 - Do you believe ''Allah'' to be a single God ruling the universe, or do you rather subscribe to panentheism or pantheism ?

9 - What is the political view supported by the Quran in your opinion ?

10 - Who will be granted paradise, the good believer or the good atheist ?

    Thank you.

      1. Yes, moderately Religious at first, more religious later on

      2. The veil of unbelief was taken away and I was kind of guided to the Islam and the Quran....

      3. The Quran is a book of Law 548, as well as citing examples of all things 3927

      4. The Quran should be studied, that would be one of the purposes it was revealed 3829

      5. N/A

      6. Yes I do pray. God's hand is open wide 564, why not ask? we are commanded by God Almighty himself to supplicate 4060....

      7. Yes, prayer has a Quranic Grounding. In fact Prayer is what makes God, the only deity... because he's the only one that could answer supplications/prayers.
8- I would believe in one supreme Ruler.

      8. Maybe the Golden Rule Retaliate Evil with Good. Justice, and forgiveness.

      9. If you are good/nice, God will guide you (God guides those who are Nice (684, 37121)
what would be more important is you being good.

        Salam lordfox

I am conducting a study, and answering these questions would help me develop it.

1 - Were you born and raised by a religious muslim family ? no

2 - Aside from finding the wrong in today's Islam (hadiths), which most see as the direct and irrefutable guidance from the One, why have you decided to affiliate yourself with the philosophy, or the spirituality, or the religion of islam ?
i was agnostic and lost but before i died i prayed and God saved me

3 - Do you think the quran is a book of law and subsequently subscribe to moral relativism, or rather do you think it is simply a reminder, because morality is shared and universal ?
the two. The quran is clear a book of law but in the same universal

4 - If you are a religious muslim, what in your opinion, is the use of the Quran ? to study and to do what God says

5 - If rather, you view islam as a philosophy, what in your opinion is the use of the Quran ? To study it and to do good

6 - Do you pray ? If yes, why ? yes i pray. Because God hears and answers the one who ask Him

7 - Do you think prayer is a concept that has any quranic grounding ? Yes. the prayer as DUA is quranic anytime and Salat is two time at day

8 - Do you believe ''Allah'' to be a single God ruling the universe, or do you rather subscribe to panentheism or pantheism ? Allah he is one and has no partner

9 - What is the political view supported by the Quran in your opinion ? Freedom and justice and Rahma

10 - Who will be granted paradise, the good believer or the good atheist ? im not God to know who will go to heaven. nobody knows how he will died. God guides the one who like to be guided

        Thank you.

        you're welcome peace sun

1 - Were you born and raised by a religious muslim family ?

          Nope

2 - Aside from finding the wrong in today's Islam (hadiths), which most see as the direct and irrefutable guidance from the One, why have you decided to affiliate yourself with the philosophy, or the spirituality, or the religion of islam ?

I don't. I am not religious, just a Muslim/ believer, and submitter, inshallah

3 - Do you think the quran is a book of law and subsequently subscribe to moral relativism, or rather do you think it is simply a reminder, because morality is shared and universal ?

It is a promise, guidance, law, and recommendations, and a warranty to the life we live.

4 - If you are a religious muslim, what in your opinion, is the use of the Quran ?

It is the only true and confirmed guidance that I use that confirms truth. I don't see it as a religious book, but as a book that all people can use.

5 - If rather, you view islam as a philosophy, what in your opinion is the use of the Quran ?

I do. It is a way of life, a Deen, and the answer to #4 fit. O0

6 - Do you pray ? If yes, why ?

I do. It is a form of meditation and connection seeking. I do no longer think that Salat is Prayer, but the exercising of Allah's command and sharing that command frequently. Rememberance and/or dhikr is prayer (from my studies of course).

7 - Do you think prayer is a concept that has any quranic grounding ?

I do. I think prayer is a way to remember and glorify.

8 - Do you believe ''Allah'' to be a single God ruling the universe, or do you rather subscribe to panentheism or pantheism ?

Allah is One. Creator of the box that we call the universe, belonging solely outside it, but governing all action and movements in.

9 - What is the political view supported by the Quran in your opinion ?

Free Market Anarchism, Small government libertarianism

It also supports all others that allow for religious freedom and movement without oppression, however those have to be true and sound. Personally, I don't think that any government is capable of providing justly, and I also think that the eventual outcome of all governments is injustice through taxation, usury, greed, and non-virtuous action. brickwall

All people are free to choose. All are equal. Allah gives everything. All are Allah's slaves and creation. No one is to be mistreated -----> All signs that point to no government and the maximization of virtuous actions.

10 - Who will be granted paradise, the good believer or the good atheist ?

"righteous" believing person that acts on his/ her belief and remembers Allah

Thank you gentlemen, for taking the time to read and respond to my questionnaire.

Allah is One. Creator of the box that we call the universe, belonging solely outside it, but governing all action and movements in.

The whole issue lies in the terminology of the oneness of Allah, while some believe that it is a single God operating outside, others believe that this oneness is literal, and encompasses everything that is.

I don't. I am not religious, just a Muslim/ believer, and submitter, inshallah

As I see it has been consecutively misunderstood, I will reformulate my question Aside from the, what I like to call, client-side proofs, what are some of the most convincing arguments that helped you officially accept the quran to be an authentic word from the One ?

All people are free to choose. All are equal. Allah gives everything. All are Allah's slaves and creation. No one is to be mistreated -----> All signs that point to no government and the maximization of virtuous actions.

I am very curious to understand, how one can be both a marine and an anarchist ? You are free not to respond, if it is too personal. Furthermore, part of your answer to question #3 screams that you subscribe to moral relativism, how can you be both an anarchist, supporting natural law and subsequently agreeing that morality is something that is universal, and say that the Qu'ran is a book of law, rather than a reminder ?

"righteous" believing person that acts on his/ her belief and remembers Allah

Let us take a charity donor for example, what makes his act righteous ? The intention of his heart, or the good his money will do ? If we believe in divine justice, then we can only say that it is the intention of the heart that counts. Consequently, is not the righteous atheist, who awaits neither trial nor judgement, more sincere in his good acts than the believer ? The believer acts righteously with intention, does that not nullify his act ?

            Thank you, salaam.

I cannot type in full on the mobile device but I'll try to.

My stance as an anarchist is very recent and has come after years of experience and study. I was once a marine, thus the title, however I am not now.

With that said, the philosophy that ultimately led me to this conclusion is the philosophy of liberty. Check the title and you will find it in a YouTube search. What led me to that philosophy was the Quran, upon which all of that philosophy is supported by the Quran.

My stance on anarchism is often misunderstood. I simply do not think that governments that control everyone is a necessary evil. It violates all liberty if the government is not chosen by all citizens, and since one citizen acting alone is not capable of fighting the forces that compel him in his own land, that force is unjust. The closest thing to righteousness is just and the furthest is injustice.

I don't mean to sound relativist at all, and I can assure that I believe that this standard SHOULD be uniform, but it is not.

It is always a delight to meet soldiers that have switched camps, it takes sincerity. I will be happy to read your response to the philosophy part (of my previous message), when you will have time.

                  Two other clarifications.

As an anarchist, not the puny kids that dont like rules kind of crazie, I do not subscrib to natural law. That is something of a mockery pushed by some times. I believe in the principle of volunteerism, which means you do what you chose to because the moral justification compels you. Better put, you help people because you chose to instead of being forced by The government to pay taxes in order to help someone you aren't compelled to help.

Satans will choose not to help and believers will chose to help, for the same reasons they chose to believe or not.

About the Quran question - as a deep questioner, I came to it and read it and agreed 100% and could not refute it intellectually. It agreed with everything that I found real and truthful and answered a multitude of questions.

The basis of natural law is that morality is universal and not relative to the class, race, ethnicity, sex of anyone. To, at one point, say that everyone is equal, say that through your morality, you have determined the wrongness or rightness of a text, and then disagree with the concept of natural law, is a contradiction. Except of course, if you think that you have been blessed with special moral powers that others do not possess. But surely I think, that you simply misunderstand the concept of natural law.

PS I have already watched that video in the past.

                          Salaam,

1 - Were you born and raised by a religious muslim family ?

As far as my immediate family is concerned, no they are not religious. In fact, two are atheists and one is agnostic. That being said, my relatives and extended family whom I had close relationship with, are religious muslims.

2 - Aside from finding the wrong in today's Islam (hadiths), which most see as the direct and irrefutable guidance from the One, why have you decided to affiliate yourself with the philosophy, or the spirituality, or the religion of islam ?

I believe any belief system that promotes monotheism, peace and good deeds will guide individuals to God, be it Islam, Christianity, Yogi, etc. I personally identify with the Qur'aan because I grew up in an environment where Muslims are the majority. I do not deny the possibility that had I been born in a Christian environment, I would probably end up as a Unitarian Christian instead of a "Qur'aan only" Muslims.

At this stage, I am content with the teachings of the Qur'aan as it satisfies my sense of humanity. I believe that if Islam is implemented properly, then Peace will be brought unto mankind.

3 - Do you think the quran is a book of law and subsequently subscribe to moral relativism, or rather do you think it is simply a reminder, because morality is shared and universal ?

I believe the Qur'aan contains both absolute and relative laws. An example of relative "rule" is the issue of modesty. The Qur'aan prescribes that women shall cover their private parts (their absolute modesty no matter where they live) and cover what is necessary (their relative modesty which differs from one environment to another. There are other rules in the Qur'aan, which I believe are absolute, and there are others that may be relative from one society to another

4 - If you are a religious muslim, what in your opinion, is the use of the Quran ?

The term "religious" itself needs further clarification and refinement. If "religious" refers to adhering to the current pactice of rituals, then no. I consider myself more on the humanist side, i.e. I am more concerned about doing something for humanity, than constantly glorifying and praising God.

That being said, I use the Qur'aan, more or less, as the guidance to how I live my life.

5 - If rather, you view islam as a philosophy, what in your opinion is the use of the Quran ?

Can you please elaborate what you mean by "philosophy"? I am having the idea that philosophy is a school of thought which involves a lot of analysis, but little implementation.

6 - Do you pray ? If yes, why ?

Often times, yes. But not in the rigid way that most traditional Muslims practice. I pray (I am assuming "praying" refers to the act of worship that includes prostation) as I feel it is a way to humble myself, and connect to God.

7 - Do you think prayer is a concept that has any quranic grounding ?

Yes, I believe so. Whether or not "prayer" needs a set of pre-defined movements, that's a different topic.

8 - Do you believe ''Allah'' to be a single God ruling the universe, or do you rather subscribe to panentheism or pantheism ?

I subscribe to the idea that "Oneness" does not mean that God is one in numerical sense. But more in a way that God is a Unity and indivisible.

9 - What is the political view supported by the Quran in your opinion ?

Socialism, if you'd call that a polical view.

10 - Who will be granted paradise, the good believer or the good atheist ?

I am not God to judge, but my personal biased opinion will say the good believer.

                          Salaam.

You need to back up whatever you claim with Quranic verses and how you interpret them. I have not seen you provide any process of how you formulate any idea regarding the Quranic verses. The Quranist persuasion is about Quranic verses and how they are to interpreted. A secular philosophy has no such concerns.
