My name is Francis and I had the chance to meet some people from Iran during my work. They were all kind and welcoming persons, and I had them as my guests in my house, sharing my food and my drink with them, at work and at home. I have all good memories of them. Once a religious man gave me the Holy Quran, and I read it carefully. If you read the Holy Quran you will find out the truth about Islam, becuase Islam is a Religion of Peace, not of violence, of Love, not of war. I firmly believe in this, having read the verses of the Holy Quran. That is why I say that all those people using violence (members of Al Qaeda, for instance) are not good muslims, or they are not muslims at all. I have the proof of what I say in the verses of the Holy Quran, that I can quote and repeat for all the ones who want to listen to them. I hope that some of you wants to answer to my post and give me the confirmation of my beliefs.

Let me thank, first, good logic and es for having been the first to welcome me in this site. I have already checked the link and I found a lot of useful information. I want to keep on and demonstrate that those who use violence are not followers of the Truth and the Good Words, but they just do it for themselves and for material reasons. Let me tell you one thing I can really understand the conditions of poverty of some people living in some difficult areas, and I also understand Palestinians, who were living quietly in their houses before someone came up and said that those were no more their houses any person being driven out his or her own house would feel really bad. So my heart is actually with those people suffering for lacking of food, for poverty, for being so badly treated. I know what poverty is, and so they are all my brothers and my sisters. I do not justify, instead, people taking advantage of this sufferance and involving men, women and even children in this spiral of violence and murder.

Your story reminded me of an article that I read on Haaretz.. (Israeli newspaper) .. about an Israeli who was due to the emergency reroute of his flight, he need to spend a night on Teheran...
Initially he feared for the safety of his life.. his imagination goes wild on "What would they do if they found out that I'm an Israeli and a Jew".. As it turns out everyone including the immigration officer was very nice to him.. pretty much doesn't care whether he's an Israeli and a Jew... business as usual... Furthermore he found out that there are many Jews in Teheran! And as a matter of fact he found out that the Jews has representatives on Iranian parliament too..
The rest of his article is basically him telling the story of "We've been screwed by the lies / propaganda spread out by our government"..
The mechanism however... happened in the same manner on Arab countries.. their government/kingdom/emirates continuously spread out the 'fear' of 'israeli/jewish invasion', 'shiites invasion' and 'western invasion'.. The intention is clear they did that to make the presence of King, Sultan, Emir and their royal minions relevant... Without any 'danger' there will not be any need for King, Sultan, Emir and their royal minions...
Last but not least.. I want to make a little correction...
islam is not a religion...welcome.. to the forum..

As seen as you highlighted the forced displacement of a people, let us then not forget to mention the Saharawi. I am sure they equally deserve a mention next to the Palestinians. The Palestinian cause seems to be an issue which generates much empathy and passion amongst "Muslims". In fact, at times, I feel like, for the mainstream "Muslims" pledging allegiance to that particular cause is synonymous with being a "Muslim". But we need not limit our humanity. There is injustice, inhumanity, oppression everywhere, not just on that strip of land in the Middle East.

Welcome to the forum. The sad thing is the when you can get people to stop thinking for themselves, bad people will take advantage of mass support of the ignorant people to justify their immorality.
Another problem with most religious people is that when you attack GOD/Religion, they defend it by highlighting the role of their religion in terms of "peace, humanity, tolerance, love, care,mercy kindness, feeding the poor, justice, truthfulness ,etc". The sad reality is that religious people just use these ideas to sell their religion to others. Look around you, you will find many people who would spend all their life's savings to go and circulate the kaaba and drink from Zam Zam, when there are children dying of hunger throughout the world.
What more can we expect from a people who thinks eating dates and keeping beard is good deeds and thus ignore the real problems in the world while they are deluded and drunk with their false self-righteousness.

Because the event you describe about the Jew in Iran confirms my opinion it is all a matter of power games. The people in the various countries, all over the world, are supposed to depend on their governments (but only supposed to be). And all the governments (as you say King, Sultan, Emir and I add also Presidents) carry out their own power games. As you correctly suggest ? if I comprehended properly your statements ? at the basis of all this there is money, business and capitalism. Also Student of Allah has said something of this kind. So, that is why we have wars and conflicts. Did I analyze correctly your sentences, Jafar? Is it my same point of view? Because this is really a crucial facet of the matter. I would like to go in depth as to this, because this is the main ideal of my whole life.Dear es, there is also Saharawi and many other places in the world where there are injustices and wrongs done sometimes I believe that I am useless, because one man only cannot be everywhere to give even his life (I would do that for a right cause) to redress things. But here I am, and if someone would like to call me, one day, to a place far from my country and give the best of myself, then I would go. To bring peace and comfort for those who are in need. And this is another of my strong beliefs now.

No no no... Islam is a religion.. or should I say there is a religion named Islam (tm, All Rights Reserved By Imams)
Well it's more than a religion.. it can be anything that they wanted.. it can be a social identity, culture, political party, political caucus or even a political block ...islam however is a noun.. it's an attitude of 'accepting God's will'.. islam (the noun) lies within the same domain as 'honest', 'kind', 'friendly' etc and it has no correlation whatsoever with Islam or any other social identity/religion/political party/caucus etc..
Perhaps sometime in the future somebody will make a new religion or political party called Honest... and the meanings of the word shall evolves / transformed in the same manner... as islam -> Islam..

They sometime change the buzzword of capitalism into something else, such as Socialism, Communism, Social-Democracy, Sharia, Khilafah.. but at the end of the day it's all about $$$, Power and Influence..Also Student of Allah has said something of this kind. That is what you say, and I really would like to go on, and it would take days. But I believe that I have some time left, maybe, so there is no need for me to be in a hurry.
I was born in a poor and difficult family I know what poverty and indigence is. In my family we could have just one meal a day and we had not money to buy clothes.
I grew up in the street, where there is the law of the stronger, and I must confess that I was always the weak. That is why I do not really know what the ?good manners? are I have no knowledge of the rules, of the conventions; I don?t know how to behave correctly, according to ?seriousness?, ?naturalness?, ?candor?, because I am, and I will always be, at the back of my mind, a street boy, a rascal. I have known the violence, both at home and in the streets, and this is something that brands you forever.
This world of my childhood, this burden, has constantly been next to me, inside of me as part of my nature you can?t cancel the pain, the troubles, the hunger. And this was, also, for the rest of my life. I could have become a ?smart one?, and leave it all at my back to sell my soul and my ideas I didn?t want to. Am I silly? Maybe I am, but I like to be consistent with myself, with my temper, with my life.
Jafar, when I hear children crying in the street my heart starts to bleed. When I see the beggars I feel I am one of them I am condemned to live a life haunted by the memories, by the present that I do not like, but that I would like to change.
I do not see many persons, in this world, fighting for the good of the people, apart from el Subcomandante Marcos, in Mexico, and Aung San Suu Kyi in Burma.
I would like that the rest of the world could realize that most of what the governments and the press say (both on the papers and on TV) is false, but my voice is too feeble.Thank you for dedicating a part of your time to me, to listen to my story. If you like I could tell you some more, Jafar.
