From what he was saying it would mean there is one God who should not be worshiped. Does that mean then there are other gods who can be worshiped but not the one God who should not be worshiped? And when the Quran says To God belongs all praise, does that mean that this One God who should not be worshiped but should also be paised? So when we are told that everything bows to God are we then now to assume that this is actually wrong thing for them to do since God is the one God that should not be worshiped? Is not praise an act of worship? Who are we to praise then in the Quran? The other gods who can be worshiped?

I am not sure I understand what is said here.

Not the "One God" There is no god at all, there is only Allah. You shouldn't worship anyone nor does Allah ask you too

Sorry Johan did not mean to ignore you, but discussion went some where other than this thread. I am just one person with limited time and ablities as well.

words for worships are and also to some extent

        for adoration

        Thanks for the effort.

I couldn't find a verse that has in it.
So i thinks there's a lack of completeness in the interpretation from this criteria..

I think I will agree with your logic Bigmo..

.. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Why would all be exalting someone who by definition does not want to be exalted; unless if and only if the definition was wrong in the first place, i.e. that Allah SWT is ?One who is not illah" is actually incorrect..

Once again you're using mainstream translations hence you're not really making a point, and how do you know in what way Allah is exalted? If Allah must be truly exalted my common sense would make me believe Allah is exalted by his creations following the Natural/Divine Law

So you are saying that its ok to exalt and praise as long as its folloing the natural/divine law? Or are you saying they should not be exalting and praising in the first place?

being inherently exalted is one thing..
                receiving praises is totally another..
Allah SWT doesn't need to be exalted, but the others needs to exalt Him in order to gain recognition/be closer to Him..

                Sahih International
But among the bedouins are some who believe in Allah and the Last Day and consider what they spend as means of nearness to Allah and of invocations of the Messenger. Unquestionably, it is a means of nearness for them. Allah will admit them to His mercy. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

                Sahih International
Their meat will not reach Allah, nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may glorify Allah for that which He has guided you; and give good tidings to the doers of good.

                  Shalom Aleikhem,

I could translate Allah as "justin beiber".

My point is, help me out with the translation, not a random assertion. Show me how you managed to translate it that way. Otherwise, "Allah = Justin Beiber " holds as much credibility as you assertion.

                      Shalom Aleikhem,

Incase you have not noticed, there is a stumbling block. Not having any clue about the words, no comments can be made about that post as a whole. An objection raised was regarding "regular translation". Thus my inquiry. But I do agree, its somewhat at a tangent.

                        Peace all,

"Did you even bother reading the very first post of this thread ?"
Really i couldn't pick up any genuine matter there! But for me ALLAH is al ilah = THE DIVINITY, when ilah stands for any divinity that is not hence worth to be worshipped.

The expression means " in fact The God is the only Divivinity (to be praised)"...

                        Peace

"The God" sounds pretty lame. If Allah was a god He would call Himself Ilah, but he's not.

                                3. Definitly, it is clear that within some infinite sets of ilahs, there is only one to be praise in order to be saved, "The Ilah" or Allah.

Are you missing something very important by sataing "No, Allah is a contraction between the words Allathi la Ilah, which means who is not God"?

The contraction is not due to the linear proximity of the words Allathi la Ilah, but rather to the expressivity of the ilah itself you ar free to woership anything you choose, but the wright choice is when you choose one able of everything, the allmight, be you arab, english,...

No it's not. Allah does not mean The Ilah (God) but who is not Ilah (God). Allah is the complete opposite of a god. A god was created with bullshit such as religion, thus the imagination of greedy/fearful people. A god is a supernatural being that controls reality from the outside, Allah manifests reality from the inside. Worship whatever you want, no matter what you worship, it's worthless and stupid act and in the Quran, translated by actual Classic Arabic without considering anything from hadith, we're told not to worship anyone.

                                        Allathi la ilah ILLA HU

                                        You missed except for Him.

The word Allah means there is no God. And that basically means there is no god at all. Not except for him, there is simply no God, there is ONLY Allah ( Not God )

                                          Salaam,

                                          How about 2133?

                                          2133

2133 Or were you witnesses when death approached Yaa'qoob, when he said to his sons, "What will you worship after me?" They said, "We will worship your God and the God of your fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac - one God. And we are Muslims to Him."

May Allah increase us in knowledge and guide us to His true path pr
