No you're not supposed to believe anything of the sort. Once again, you show lack of reason for which I'm loathe to blame your age because I have known almost 15 year olds that are different.

Once again, your age isn't a barrier, the barriers you're putting up against learning in your mind are. Where do you get the time to learn God is not god? You apparently know nothing about flawed assumptions either.

It's ironic and hypocrisy how you claim I make flawed assumptions and that I lack reason. Anyway giveup

So I am supposed to believe that a male personification created the world and controls it from the outside otherwise I have blind faith, got it.

Nice strawman argument. Wait, I thought you were so logical! Guess not.
Pro-tip nowhere is "God" elucidated as some "male diety". Have you actually studied the Quran, or do you just quote your gods ?

And yes my age is a barrier for learning. Who is gonna teach that to me? Where do I get the time to learn it? This is a flawed assumption, as you know nothing about me.

Your immaturity is quite evident. Quit acting like a spoiled child who wails his arms around like a goose every time things doesn't go his way , and mayhaps we'll reconsider.

God? What do you mean God? The verse clearly says Allah, who is not god. Allah makes it clear on Quran using the arabic that was used in Muhammad's time that Allah is not a god

          Surah 112 1

You must skilfully think and then acknowledge by words and actions. The One who is the only One, is not illah (God).

          Surah 112 2

The One who is everlasting; the creator of everything and to whose unity everything gives testimony; is the One who is not illah (god)

          Surah 112 3

Neither the One begets a God, nor shall one be begotten from the One.

          Surah 112 4

Nor has the One any likeness to any god; the One and Only having absolutely no resemblance or likeness to anybody or anything.

In 1121,2 The Arabic says "Allah" (God) Why does he intentionally mis-translate it?
In 1123,4 There is no "ilah" in the Arabic so why does he intentionally mis-translate it?

          You simply cannot see the fabrications in his "translations"? How about this;
Sura 21 simply reads "A.L.M." (Alif, Laam, Meem) Yet he "translates" this as "Is not mankind in pain and in suffering?"

And you still can't see? He doesn't "translate" anything. He is making a forgery. He is simply writing his own personal theology of what he wishes the Quran actually says and calls it a "translation". And you still can't see that?

            Shalom Aleikhem,

Just an observation ( I advice anyone to go through the thread before reading this)

" I do not know anything about any of this stuff, but I am certain that everyone else is wrong and I am right. How do I know that I am right when I can not back it up with any lexicon/literature/written records ? Because I reason. How do I reason without backing it up with anything apart from my subjective opinions and still have the audacity to tell others they are wrong ? Well, don't pick on me, go pick on Badar Kanwar !! "

As it turns out, they aren't subjective opinions either, they are self-indoctrination in the disguise of subjective opinion. Its amazing how going around cursing on "Sunnis" for obeying their sheikhs is reasonable for the one who ultimately refers to yet another sheikh.

            Here is a test phrase

"Dr. Zakir naik said it, go and challenge him. Dr. Zakir naik makes the most sense. You are wrong , I agree with Dr. Zakir naik, I find him reasonable."

Simply replace Dr. Zakir Naik with Dr. Badar Kanwar.

            Peace
            ------------ Student of Allah

                Peace Godsubmitter,

I am currently in the Middle East and I will start the Fast today, God willing. I will then take a day off because I am flying to Europe, after which, I will fast a further two days, to fulfill the count.

                Dawn.

                  Peace All,

Fasting in Europe is so much harder than in the Middle East, because at this time of year their day is so long. I had to get up at 3am, in order to give myself time to eat by 3.45. I won't be able to eat until approx 9.20 this evening. Imagine doing that for 30 days? I did it for the past two years and it was a killer. It reminded me of what God says in the Koran, that he didn't want it to be difficult for us. I wish I could convince the majority of Muslims of my understanding. Unfortunately, even with proof from the Koran, many people would not listen.

                    But what proof?

When does it start and how many days it lasts?

I also did it during the longest days and shortest nights during a month, but then, on this Forum, people have millions of differing opinions!

                    ???

                      Peace Godsubmitter,

I have only found two differing views on here and that is whether the count is 3 or 10 days. On going through the fine details I am convinced that the count is three days for the length of the first full moon following the hottest heat (Ramadan) on the 21st June. I think if you read all the posts for the Hot Ramadan starting from a few years back you will find the proof.

Of course, there is also the argument about the winter solstice, but personally and factually I don't think it would stand up to very close scrutiny. At a quick glance it could pass, but there are two many suppositions. The Summer Ramadan is clear and follows the Koran.

                      Dawn.

Salaam after reading the posts on Ramadan I am now feeling confused about whether to fast for 30 days, 10 days or 3 days.
I didn't fast last year because I was travelling but I supported a poor family so was hoping God would accept that. I will also be travelling this year, but during Ramadan I will be staying in a village in West Africa doing volunteer work. I was going to fast but because of my confusion about the number of days I am thinking to feed one poor person for each day of breaking the fast (I would do this for 30 days). I would howver prefer to fast as God says fasting is the best for you, if you only knew. What have other Freeminders decided to do? I would appreciate any helpful comments.

                          Peace Lena,

Although you would have travelled to Africa, you would not be travelling while you are actually there, so you could still fast. However, my understanding of the Koran is, if you travel during Ramadan then you make up the days not feed a poor person. I understand that you feed a poor person if you can fast but with great difficulty. An example of such a situation is the one we have currently in the very north of the UK, Scotland. Here, daylight doesn't end until gone 11pm and then you would be up again to start the fast within 2 or 3 hours before daylight. That surely is with great difficulty.

I believe you fast for 3 days. You can witness a full moon but you don't witness a month. Using your intelligence and the information God has given you, you may then remember God reminds us He doesn't want to make life difficult for us. Even the Scottish fast would be bearable over 3 days. I have completed my fast and having actually done the UK fast over the past 2 years in its entirety, I thank God for enlightenment.

I work over in the Middle East and it always fascinates me how people go on about the excitement of the coming Ramadan, knowing full well it is actually hard times. So many of them sleep during the day etc., you cannot do that in real life!!

I hope you find your answer.

                          Dawn.

                            Salaam dawngorgeous.
Totally agree with you. I am still wavering over the 3 - 10 day abstaining, Insha Allah I will get there soon. This happened with the Salaat, took nearly a year, before I was completely satisfied. I think it's because I have been so conditioned to think a certain way, that I find myself feeling riddled with guilt, making it difficult for me to make the change. I truly just want to please The God.
