Yes I too get very lonely.
Sometimes I go to Jum'a just to be around other muslims,
but the mentioning of Muhammad in the athan gets me off to a bad start
then the khutbah begins, and many times the Imam says Muhammad more times than God.
Then we face the wrong Qiblah and................I go back to being lonely
I pray to God that one day in or near Philadelphia
WE WILL HAVE A GOD ALONE COMMUNITY! O0relect on the Garden of Eden
therein is the key monotheismPeace

Hope you are able to find some friends or like minded folks. Even on this site I don't feel connected...not sure how in the world I am going to make this transition.

SA.
You are not alone brother!
I can count a total of 3 that i know of, myself included, that are alone in our beliefs..
It's a lonely world indeed, and very tough at times.. especially with the family. It is hard to discuss Islam with sectarians when they are locked in their traditional way of thinking.
Find peace and solace in knowing Allah, the best companion, follows you everywhere, and that you have found an online community that supports your views.
We are not alone!
-
I agree with everyone. It can be rough.
For me, non-muslim family and a sunni husband with sunni in-laws. There are a lot who share our beliefs. Many reverts I find do, but don't openly discuss it. Still in the journey process. I have talked with some at my masjid.
This community online, for me, is my muslim family. We squabble and disagree, but at the same time listen and comfort; learning from each other.
Welcome )

. I just feel like an outkast or something because my beliefs dont fall within traditional islam.
Solo, so know how your feeling, when you are one speck in an ocean its very very hard, especially when the heavy tide is going in the opposite direction, and yeah its lonely as hell at times but and incredibly frustrating i found, but after years and years of being called the black sheep and a rebel ive now started seeing the change within my own family, people can not run from the truth forever, so be patient, just keep trucking on the road ur trucking and soon enough (maybe not soon enough for you lol) truth will prevail, it always does...

peace solo, all,

Hello everybody I grew up raised as a traditional sunni muslim. As I got older I started to feel myself questioning Hadith more and more. I came across this website and it helped solidify what I always was feeling. But since then for years I've pretty much distanced myself from the muslim community. I wish there more people who believed in the Quran Alone in my community and we could create a community that will eventually change traditional islam. I'm from the chicago area originally now I live in Michigan still not too far from chicago. I just feel like an outkast or something because my beliefs dont fall within traditional islam.
welcome handshake sun
we share the same background bro,
i was sunni myself only came to realize it's not right for me after 30 years of living.. (
too bad i'm not anywhere near chicago, but if you ever come to KL, malaysia feel free to pm-me; i'll drive you around it, and as of now there's an extra empty room in my unit for the sightseer to stay.. Dpeace

30 years??? Oh my goodness...that must really be quite a change to go through. I have only been Muslim 2 1/2 years and I am finding it hard to let go of the things I was taught. May Allah guide you.
Peace,
Amina

Being an outcast comes with being right, and insisting on what is right, since most people insist on being wrong. If they shun you for speaking truth, the sin is on them. You are not alone if you have Allah on your side.
I too wish for an earthly community at times. I think/hope/speculate that Allah will let his servants gather when they deserve it. -
Peace,
There are consequences for not following the majority, such as ostracism and misrepresentation.
But being right in the sight of God is much more important because the majority can not help
us on judgement day.If you obey the majority of people on earth, they will divert you from the path of GOD. They follow only conjecture; they only guess.
The majority of those who believe in GOD do not do so without committing idol worship.
Peace O0

Imam al-Ghazali (d.1111), known as the ?Proof of Islam?, author of "The Revival of the Religious Sciences" (Iy ulm al-dn), widely regarded as the greatest work of Muslim spirituality, perhaps the most read work in the Muslim world, after the Qurn, has said "Islam started with loners and will end with loners"

Dear All, Salaam,
I see that many of you are tired to be alone in their beliefs, why don't you gather all in some place to live ? Why don't you make this step ? Why don't you act as a Muhaajir ? (one who emigrates in the sake of God)
If you don't, you'll probably die alone, or you'll probably revert to Sunni islam. This tendancy has already appeared in the practice of some quranists to go to local Muslim mosques to feel "the atmosfear of brotherhood, the feeling of being part of a community".
People, you have to wake up, and realize that like the Prophet Joseph who said " I have forsaken the religion of people who do not believe in GOD, and with regard to the Hereafter, they are really disbelievers." (1237) . The best example is Abraham who disowned his people, disown Sunni Islam, with all our heart !
You have to move on and go to the next spiritual stage, a lot of you are still hesitating, but don't, please, for God's sake. If you don't organize by gathering, by making sacrifices in God's path, you'll disappear, just like the Samaritans. You'll end, diluted in the crowd, because you were affraid to make a step forward, waiting for miracles, waiting for some friend or some partner of the other gender to emerge from among the community of idol worshippers. Even Abraham had to emigrate, just as Muhammad's followers did.
Do you think you won't have to do so ?
Wake up, before it's too late, wake up, before your ego finds for you some excuse to marry a sunni because you'll be tired of waiting. Wake up before some stupid fool from the depth of this website appears telling you that Sunnis are not idol makers, an idea that in your difficult situation, will appear very attractive.
It would mean reverting to an inferior spiritual state, and if you do so, you may not succeed anymore.
I understand what you can feel, but wake up and react, instead of complaining.

You're right though it will take a long time yet to establish a proper community. We're not that many people and sunni elite have a way of silencing those they don't agree with. Word needs to be spread first far and wide

I can feel your pain as I'm a sole muslim(as far as I know) in a small town. Thankfully I'm moving soon, but to an area that seems to only have sunni muslims. At least all the masjids are sunni. I'm so conflicted about whether I even want to bother going to them since I'll just be pressured to change my beliefs. confused

Peace to all, I too feel alone. I just thank God everyday that I have my family and together we do engage in lengthy discussions. We should really try to have more conferences where we can meet personally.

All messengers also felt 'alone'' just look at Abraham, moses, jesus and most properly also the messenger who brought Quran. They were always having arguments with their people. So be happy my friend, it shows you are on the right track

Peace,
Do you have any doubt on who is the messenger of Quran.
I am asking this because you named other messengers/prohphets by name.
