I am African -American. I don't use the term black because a name of a group should give you information about your culture. Black tells us nothing. African American gives you a culture to go back and study to see how you arrived at your position through causes and effects.

peace All,
I just thought of this, al quran says man was created from earth/clay/mud (I understand this could have a literal as well as metaphorical understanding) but the above comments got me thinking about the colour of earth/clay/mud. Coincidence?
