Hello. I go by the name Zealot T here. I want all of you to know that I am not Muslim or Islamic but I do study all religions; Comparitive Religious studies and a practicing Buddhist/Gnostic. I am truely fascinated by all religions and there origins. I hope that you will all welcome me here. I am very interested to learn so much more of the Quron.

You will hopefully find that this forum is indeed a goldmine when it comes to information about Islam (one of the large world religions), islam (the natural way of life as described in the quran), and to some extent even other religions.
You will in fact find many times more information here, about both the quran and traditional Islam, than even on traditional websites themselves. This is because this place is devoted to research, while most (or all) traditional s.c. Islamic websites are all about consensus, dogma and prevention/admonishing of free thought. If you want new angles to things, this is a great place to be.
It is also important to realize that this forum and it's members (and you are one of them) is not a homogenous group in terms of faith, ideology and so on. This is not a place of another sect (as some people insist it is) with a certain set of beliefs. The common denominator is the search for greater understanding.. focused on the quran.
This is why I do not like the label 'quran-alone'. Fine, it shows that only the quran is taken as intact, written guidance from The Creating Being, but it also has a tendency to give an image of a specific group. One should not view life and reality with glasses of separation. Yes, you may limit yourself to the quran as far as books are concerned, but don't make it into a group, or ideology, or faith, or sect. Don't limit your mind. This world is full of truths and signs and wonders. One must be open to it all. It is the FEELING of belonging to a limited group which is harmful for one's growth. There should not be rigid limits in your vision or approach. We all belong to the Creation, and we are all connected to all other human beings. We are in a sense all one, but we may choose to align differently and walk in different directions as per our current understanding. In this sense we are all different. But never THINK or FEEL yourself as separated from anything. That closes doors. We should not be afraid, and limit ourselves. We should trust The Creative Being to guide us correctly on the straight path. Building walls of separation, especially in the mind, gives rise to tension and resistance. That which is described as 'islam' in the quran (and I'm not talking about the religion Islam) is all about surrender to reality, to The Creative Being.
It is possible that you may find out, to your surprise, that the approach described as 'islam' in arabic in the quran, perhaps is something that you are already familiar with from your own background in Buddhism, at least to some extents.
