So who is going to decide which way is the right way?
-
Why is it necessary that there be only one way which is right. People are limited, which means partial. They will have different feelings, convictions, beliefs, because each person has his or her own partiality and thourhg life that also changes, people evolve. What is a unity of thought by dictation? It is simply a figment, and to want or pursue that is a mirage. Differences are gift a blessing, not a curse. What may make differences or uninimity a curse is intention and purpose. If our purose is to be more true and faithful, we may differ in peace. If it is dilettantism, or inflated ego or vanity, then it is curse.
We should always vie to be sincere and not play games with serious things. And faith is a serious thing.
God made us different, we should be different, we should change and struggle our jihad through life to become truer the way God has made for us. Human beings are not photocopies, but creations.
The pursuit of unity through elimination of differences is a curse and suicide. Unite should come through acceptane of differences, and acknowledgement of the right to be different and the right to pursue the personal way.

Dear Friends,
Recently I observed a debate between a Quranist and a Hadith follower. The Quranist pointed out the different versions of Ahadith (Shia and Sunni) along with their grades. Pointed out also was different versions of Sunnah being practiced by sectarians. Which one (Hadith collections, Sunnah, Sect) the Quranist wanted to know, was the right one?
The Hadith follower responded by saying that even in those who claim to follow the Qur'an there are differences. There are Submitters (also known as 19ners), There are those who follow Parwez, others like Dr Shabbir. Some say Salat is a system, others say no it is prayer. Some say Salat is a system a component of which is prayer. Some believe in Hajj others say it is supposed to be an annual conference. Some say Zakat is a tax, others claim, no, it is something that an Islamic governments contributes towards uplifting it's citizens; Some, like Dr Qamaruzzaman say there is no such thing as Saum, others, say saum is fasting. And that Muhammad is a quality and not a name, Khatim un Nabiyeen means something else!!
Some believe in Khilafat, others say democracy is the way. Some claim Muslim is anybody who is peaceful (regardless of his religion) others say, No, it means one who believes in One Good, does not worship idols and believes in the blessed Muhammad as well. Some believe in miracles others interpret them differently. Some say Jinns are nomads, others claim they are a seperate spititual beings that exist along with humans!! Some say Hajj is for spiritual experience, others say No, it is for annual conference.
Some deny any Miracles mentioned in the Qur'an with respect to previous Messengers claiming that Allah does not change His Ways; Others say if you look at the context (3362) this refers to the way Allah deals with misbehaving humans and not physics and science!!
So on and so forth. Long story short, even those living by Qur'an differ over it's interpretation in many vital areas.
Dr Shabbir has translated the Qur'an and claims that he has respectfully differed with Parwez's Exposition in more than 300 places!!
Question Illahi teray Saa'da dil Banday bata Aakhir Kahan jayen!!
Meaning those who are not familiar with the Arabic language, where are they supposed to go to find the truth?!!
How are we supposed to respond if a critc asks "You claim this Book is easy to understand, then why all these major differences even on basics?"
And Who will ultimately decide which interpretation of the Qur'an is the best? We don't have a Pope or a Khalifa tul Muslamin and we don't expect any future Messenger to appear and resolve this mess!!
In response to the above dilemma, the Ismailis say they have a "Hazir Imam" to guide them for this century according to his interpretation of the Qur'an; The Shias refer to their Imams (who they claim are fault free) and are waiting for Imam Mehdi to appear; The Ahmedis say that they refer all issues to their Caliph and they have a system to deal with proper interpretation of the Quran.
What about the rest? Any ideas?
Salam mubashir
4321-24 We have given them a Book before this (Qur'an) in which they hold? No, they say "We found our fathers on a (certain) way, and we are guided by their footsteps." Exactly the same way, when we sent a warner ever to a settlement, the former ruling classes replied "We found our fathers on a path, and we follow in their footsteps." He said "Even if I bring you better guidance than that which SAHT follow your fathers?" They said "We deny that with which you are sent."3918 The all listen to what is said and follow only the best These are the rightly guided by God, and they are the ones that have minds.
3030 Sun judge thee according to the DEEN of Islam! This is God's natural law, according to which He has created human beings. God's creation does not change. This is the perfect religion. But most people do not know.
1240 ... The arrangements (hukm) are God alone, He has commanded that you shall serve him only That is the right religion, but most men know not.
5101 O you who believe! Do not ask about things which, if they are known to you, you would be uncomfortable, if you are asking then, while the Quran is sent down, they made known unto you. God has passed over. And Allah is Forgiving and indulgent.

"The messenger believes in that which has been revealed to him from his Lord and (so do) believers (Arabic mu'minuna). Each one believes in God and His angels and His scriptures and His messengers - We make no distinction between any of His messengers - and they say We hear, and we obey. (Grant us) Thy forgiveness, our Lord. Unto Thee is the journeying"003.199
"And there are, certainly, among the People of the Book, those who believe in God, in the revelation to you, and in the revelation to them, bowing in humility to God They will not sell the Signs of God for a miserable gain! For them is a reward with their Lord, and God is swift in account"after all these verses, we see what's really important-we should know God and strive to HIM.
We are to believe in all the messengers and all the revealed scriptures.
Nowhere Allah says that we should THINK THE SAME OR HAVE EQUIVALENT RITUALS. God is one, but there are many ways.
We should think about the goal. The effort may be different, the interpretation of Scripture too, but the goal is the same God. That should be enough to get us all one. What about the rest? Any ideas?
we read the Quran and reflect about it and ask Allah for help to understand )i don't know, if this answer your question?? )

Excellent post and the posed question, and beautiful answers, so far.
Thank you!

Very valid questions. As long one realize that all is not well. Our understanding far from being perfect for Quran. Based upon this keep using your intellect to decide day to day issues instead of running to clergy. As well spend some time to learn language of Quran to understand one is going to be fine. Important thing is not believe people blindly with out verifying their claims. Honesty is prime requisite. Just an example below what it should not be. You likely know the history

Muhtaram Bhai Gee, If you think so it would be more humbling. It is still neither where it should be but nor is my knowledge of the language. You may consider this one to post at both places.
Al-Qari?a
(Historically The severe Calamity)Surah 101 1
The severe calamity is weakness of duty, an impotence of thought and ignorance; and magnifying oneself in words without actions, and killing with grief and rage. Resulting in impugned character and making others feel intense aversion, disgust, and revulsion.
Surah 101 2
Don?t be like, ones in severe calamity due to weakness of duty, impotence of thought and ignorance; and magnifying oneself in words without actions and killing with grief and rage. Resulting in impugned character and making others feel intense aversion, disgust, and revulsion.
Surah 101 3
And what grievous calamity befell you despite knowing, that you do show off and indulge in hypocrisy; and so become like, one in severe calamity due to weakness of duty, impotence of mind and ignorance; and magnifying oneself in words without actions, and killing with grief and rage. Resulting in impugned character and making others feel intense aversion, disgust, and revulsion.
Surah 101 4
How many of the created ones want to remain to be weak or incapacitated, in contrast to moths drawn down freely one after another into the lighted wick (illumination); (those drawn to the illumination)being the ones spreading, publishing and revealing events and knowledge.
Surah 101 5
And to be what they were originated and brought into existence for or else to become weak, incapacitated and smitten with the disease of corruption; separated like wool and having fear of everything.
Surah 101 6
The very first creation, which was endowed with reason and logic and was graced, honoured, as the One?s pride. How difficult and troublesome these personal duties became for them.
Surah 101 7
Heedless and neglectful, so not in a state of living which is pleasant and approved
Surah 101 8
And as far as ones endowed with reason and logic who are able to think quickly and intelligently, to break this state of living; will be graced, honoured and will become the pride of the One.
Surah 101 9
Because of which, this is ultimately a sufficient state.
Surah 101 10
And what grievous calamity befell you in spite of you knowing that you do show off and indulge in hypocrisy, and hence you do not want to be in this ultimately sufficient sate.
Surah 101 11
That state is, to be in a beautiful light, from your protector and defender, of the intense degree.bdun Nur

Muhtram Bhai Gee, some more to post.Al-?Adiyat
(Historically The Racers / To Run / Assaulters/ The Coursers)Surah 100 1
And solemnly the ones keeping silent or suppressing the means of subsistence, you are acting wrongfully, tyrannically and transgressing proper limits.
Surah 100 2
Consequently they are cut off from means of subsistence; just like the dust moving to and fro in the air.
Surah 100 3
As a consequence becoming exceedingly envious and like great and frightened serpents, one portion smiting the necks of another portion for survival.
Surah 100 4The ones determined and decided upon a course, to relate and recite the traditions; are with those more unmindful.
Surah 100 5
Ones who were supposed to hold the best rank in regards of this area of knowledge have questionable claims to respect; being with those that become impetuous and heedless with out considering the guide to the right course.
Surah 100 6
Truthfully, the human beings belonging to the Sustainer, Maintainer and Foster are in a pressing calamity.
Surah 100 7
And truly among them are the ones revealing the information of what they witness with their eyes and what they know of the external properties of things.
Surah 100 8
Truly such as these are the ones, been the objects of love and approval the ones in acts of hastening to bind strongly with the standard and banner from me.
Surah 100 9
Do not conceal what you have come to with certainty, both intuitively and inferentially. Consider, to do this is like stumbling and falling on your face, just like the those buried in a cemetery.
Surah 100 10
So this is just like, after a thing is distinguished and made apparent, one goes backwards to the same place and affair.
Surah 100 11
Truly the (One) is their Sustainer, Maintainer and Foster and so also yours. You continue to enjoy abundant comforts and an amply easy state of life by possessing knowledge of internal things and of that which is invoked by being acquainted with the names and attributes (principles and concepts).- Show quoted text -

Peace,
We are to disagree, because our journeys are sometimes alike and sometimes different.
So we in up in groups, and Allah will decide on judgement day between us.
This is Allah's decision so it must play out this way.Say, "Our Lord will gather us all together before Him, then He will judge between us equitably. He is the Judge, the Omniscient."
This is what you shall preach, and steadfastly maintain what you are commanded to do, and do not follow their wishes. And proclaim "I believe in all the scriptures sent down by GOD. I was commanded to judge among you equitably. GOD is our Lord and your Lord. We have our deeds and you have your deeds. There is no argument between us and you. GOD will gather us all together; to Him is the ultimate destiny."
Then we revealed to you this scripture, truthfully, confirming previous scriptures, and superseding them. You shall rule among them in accordance with GOD's revelations, and do not follow their wishes if they differ from the truth that came to you. For each of you, we have decreed laws and different rites. Had GOD willed, He could have made you one congregation. But He thus puts you to the test through the revelations He has given each of you. You shall compete in righteousness. To GOD is your final destiny-all of you-then He will inform you of everything you had disputed.
Peace O0
