The Ears of the Livestock?
-
Dear all...
I have been suspicious of something concerning livestock. The question has to do with the shaytan deceiving mankind, and swearing an oath to Allah to lead the progeny of Adam astray.
I think there is a mistake in the classical interpretation / translation of the following passage
{"And I will misguide them and make them desire, and I will command them, so that they will mark the ears of the livestock, and I will command them so they will make changes to the creation of Allah." Whoever takes the devil as a supporter other than Allah, then he has indeed lost a great loss}...
The sentence marked in red, in some translations, is rendered as "clip the ears of the livestock". Does this make sense from the shaytan's point of view? Just what is so great about "marking" or "clipping" the ears of the livestock that is making the shaytan boast about that to Allah?
Let's think logically In many instances and other passages of the Quran, we find the shaytan is promising Allah that he will lead the vast majority of humanity astray, and make them desire worldly things, and compete and boast among themselves about mansions, and wealth and children and ownership of livestock.
How does "marking the ears" or "clipping the ears" of the livestock fit with this boast? Do people still mark or clip the ears of livestock today? The answer is obviously NO. So where is the credibility of the sign in 4119 then?
I think we are missing something here.
For those members who have good knowledge of Arabic linguistics, I think the word "bataka" , whose derivative "youbattikounna" appears in the 4119, needs to be analyzed profoundly.
It has come to my knowledge that bataka means to mask or confound or confuse or muffle the sound of something. I am quite confident that something along that line can be found in the classical lexicons.
If that is the case, then another question poses itself how does someone mask/confound/confuse the ears of livestock? The answer is quite simple One doesn't.
The word "azhan" , which appears in 4119, does NOT mean "ears". It means announcement/call. (Like the azhan that is heard from the mosques 5 times a day).
Once we have put these things in mind, the passage then becomes clear, and is rendered as follows
{"And I will misguide them and make them desire, and I will command them, so that they will confound/muffle/mask the announcement/call of the livestock, and I will command them so they will make changes to the creation of Allah." Whoever takes the devil as a supporter other than Allah, then he has indeed lost a great loss}...
What's being proposed here is that there is something about livestock - in particular, four species of livestock - that humans have failed to understand. These four species are exclusively cows, sheep, goats, and camels.
These animals have been trying to tell us something...to announce something to us, but due to the machinations of the shaytan, their announcement has been muffled or confounded.
Can you guess what that is?
{It has been adorned for people to love the desire of nisa'a, and monuments, and ornaments made from gold and silver, and trained horses, and livestock, and fields. These are the enjoyment of the world, and with Allah is the best abode}...
Note how, in the above sign, horses are NOT included among the livestock (an3am). A clear distinction is made between them in the sentence, by means of the article "and".
1- In these four species of animals are SPECIAL signs for us
{And the livestock He has created them for you, in them is warmth and benefits, and from them you eat}...
{And for you there is a lesson in the livestock; We give you to drink from what is in its belly between the digested food and the blood, a pure milk which is relieving for the drinkers}...
{Eat and raise your livestock, in that are signs for those of thought}...
{And in the livestock are lessons for you. We give you to drink from what is in its bellies, and you have many other benefits from them, and of them you eat}...
2- These four species in particular (cow, goat, sheep and camel) are completely dependent on and subservient to mankind. Their dependence and subservience to us is unequalled and unparalleled in any other species. Has anyone ever contemplated that?
Think of the cow, for instance. You put a cow in a wild place, like a forest or desolate wilderness location, away from civilization, and guaranteed in will die in a matter of weeks, if not days. It simply cannot survive on its own. The same is true for the sheep, goat, and camel. Sure, the camel is built for desert travel (in that is a sign as well), but can a camel live independent of man?
Some of you will say "Big deal. That's why they are domesticated animals". That observation is actually not accurate. A cat is an excellent example of a domesticated animal. Yet, the cat can live perfectly well on its own, if set loose in the wild. It is equipped to do so. So is a dog. Man's best friend, the dog, can live on its own once it reaches adulthood. Livestock simply cannot.
Try taking your dog or cat to the slaughterhouse, and put its neck under the blade. What will it do? The instant it feels danger, it will probably gouge your eyes out or bite your nose off. This is because it can feel, by instinct, the danger. Livestock cannot. A sheep, after years of giving you wool and milk, will put out its neck for you and ask no questions whatsoever. Interesting, isn't it?
We are talking about complete, and unquestionable subservience to man. And this subservience was described in the Quran by the term ?dhalalna?, which appears in 3672. This word comes from ?dhull? (ّ, and carries an almost demeaning kind of submission. No other animal is described as such.
{Did they not see that We created for them with Our own hands livestock which they own? * And they were subdued by Us for them. So some they ride, and some they eat}....
{Allah is the One who made the livestock for you that you may ride on some of them, and some of them you eat}...
3- Livestock are extremely STUPID animals. You can easily verify their stupidity in your everyday life. The Qur'an itself attests to this fact
{Or do you think that most of them hear or comprehend? They are just like livestock. No, they are worse off}...
{Allah admits those who believe and do good works to gardens with rivers flowing beneath them. As for those who reject, they are enjoying and eating as the livestock eat, and the Fire will be their abode}....
The above sign describes very well the godless and inhuman leaders and politicians of this world They chew their food like livestock chew grass, while seemingly completely oblivious to the suffering they are causing, just as livestock are oblivious to their fate.
Still...there is something else...an expression used by the Quran to describe the creation of livestock that was not used to describe any other animal...
{He created you from (the essence of) a single soul, then He made from it its mate. And He sent down to you eight pairs of the livestock. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, a creation after a creation in three darknesses. Such is Allah your Rabb. To Him belongs the sovereignty. There is no god besides Him. How is it then you deviate?}...
Why 8 pairs? Because there are 4 species, and each species has male + female (4x2=. These are
{And from the livestock are those for burden, and also for clothing. Eat from what Allah has provided you and do not follow the footsteps of the shaytan; he is to you a clear enemy * Eight in pairs from the lambs two, and from the goats two. Say "Is it the two males that He forbade or the two females, or what the wombs of the two females bore? Inform me if you are truthful!" * And from the camels two, and from the cattle two. Say "Is it the two males that He forbade or the two females, or what the wombs of the two females bore? Or were you witnesses when Allah ordered you with this?" Who is more wicked than he who invents lies about Allah to misguide the people without knowledge. Allah does not guide the wicked people}...
There they are, the four species cows, sheep, goats and camels. They are unlike any other species on earth.
What if they didn't come from Earth, but were sent down from some place? As crazy as that sounds, that's exactly what the Quran is telling us
{And He sent down to you eight pairs of the livestock}
When Allah says He "sent down" something, and when that thing is physical and tangible, then you can bet He means it literally.
Example He sends down water from the sky to sprout vegetation and trees of all kinds, bearing fruits of all flavors.
Example He sent down iron, which humans use to make tools for benefit and weapons of war
{And We sent down the iron, wherein there is great strength, and many benefits for the people}...
Which iron is Allah talking about here? Obviously it is not he molten iron that is found in the core of the earth. This core iron is a liquid iron, which humans cannot reach anyway. The passage in 5725 is talking about the solid iron ore that we extract from the crust of the earth to make tools and weapons with. This iron was apparently not an Earthly mineral, but come from space somewhere.
So when Allah says that He brought down iron to earth He means exactly that. In the same way, He is telling us that he brought down 4 species of completely subservient livestock. This event occurred at around the same period when Adam (the father of the Homo-Sapien species) appeared on the planet. This can only mean that livestock did not exist during the era of the primitive humanoid (Cro-Magnon) man, but were somehow ?brought down? to Adam and his progeny for a specific reason and purpose.
I think we need to look further into this issue. The truth about livestock will ultimately lead us to the true purpose of Hajj and the hunting restirctions that Allah has set forth.

Salaam Pazuzu,
Please take a look at the following
7179
7179 And We have certainly left Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless.7195
7195 Do they have feet by which they walk? Or do they have hands by which they strike? Or do they have eyes by which they see? Or do they have ears by which they hear? Say, "Call your 'partners' and then conspire against me and give me no respite.{He created you from (the essence of) a single soul, then He made from it its mate. And He sent down to you eight pairs of the livestock. He creates you in the wombs of your mothers, a creation after a creation in three darknesses. Such is Allah your Rabb. 8 pairs? Does it not make them 16? Can't this be translated as 8 types? You explained it well as . Still can it be translated as 8 pairs?
The words used in 396 is , if this is translated as 8 pairs, how can we translate in 567? I always translate it as types instead of pairs. Am I wrong? hmm
May Allah increase us in knowledge and guide us to His only path pr

The word "zawj" is often used to mean "dual" (pair). But if you look closely, a wife is described as a "zawj" of the man. Plural is azwaj (as in wives of the nabi), just as the man can be the "zawj" of the woman.
So, 8 "azwaj" simply means the 8 males and females (in total) of the four species.... Please look closely again at 6142-144. It is talking about 8 animals, not 16!!
And "Azhan" does not necessarily mean "ear".

Dear Pazuzu
Peace to you
Excellent post and thoughtful.
"and I will command them so they will make changes to the creation of Allah" this I think relates to the CIRCUMCISION. Allah created Man perfectly and in good shape, but the Devil commanded mankind to change the nature of Allah by CIRCUMCISION.
Thanks

Salaam Pazuzu,
I agree and I understand what you said, that is what I wrote if you translate "azwaaj" as "pairs" then it will count upto 16 and not 8, so "azwaaj" cannot be translated as "pairs" but better to translate it as "type" or any other suitable word. That is the reason I gave reference of 567.
I already said in my previous post that you translated it well.
You explained it well as .

Salaam Kazi,
As I understand, Pazuzu was not pointing to this part of 4119
4119
4119 And I will mislead them, and I will arouse in them desires, and I will command them so they will slit the ears of cattle, and I will command them so they will change the creation of Allah." And whoever takes Satan as an ally instead of Allah has certainly sustained a clear loss.Pazuzu was talking about the red highlighted part above and you were talking about the blue highlighted one. You are correct that the blue part refers to circumcision.

mmKhanThis could also mean many things such as heart, liver, lung or any other transplants. It could mean cosmetic reconstructions, IVF, any form of surgery, dentistry, etc. hair cutting, shaving, this list goes on and that's only the human side.
in plants cross pollinating different species to make a new one, in animals chopping off certain dog's tails, building dams to force a river's flow, carving temples and presidents heads in mountains, the list goes on, it has/could have a very broad meaning, including circumcision.

Salaam Ayisha,
Actually, I mean the red part above. But thanks for correction.
I totally agree with you on transplant, etc... But hair cutting, shaving??? hmm No no no... nope I think, hair and nail given to us for "zeenat", so that we can change styles whenever we needed.

yes but 'some' would take it as to mean cutting hair and shaving, it's open to very wide interpretation is what I mean.
also regarding transplants and surgery, I personally think these are wonderful things to save lives, but someone else might not think the same. Even with a transplant you aren't going to extend any life that Allah wants to take away. No one can hide from death and some people might see this as 'playing god'

May be he was talking about slitting the ear to get a cell for coloning in 20th century onwards.
Or it could be Genetic Engineering, "modifying" the "creation" of God and changing their "fair" structures? o

Salam Bro,
Great post, should give credit to DR Imad Hassan
Dear all...
I have been suspicious of something concerning livestock. The question has to do with the shaytan deceiving mankind, and swearing an oath to Allah to lead the progeny of Adam astray.

Are they trying to tell us something? -
Salam Brother and everybody ,
Yes the subject of "Live stock Al-anaa'am " is very important , simply because the fact of killing a living creature like us is a not a easy matter . The Quran clearly indicate that "Live stock Al-anaa'am " are a " Omam./ creatures who lives in group" same as Mankind , same as other insects and Animals , in fact the Latin word Animal is etymologically derived (twisted) from the original word "Al-anaa'am " , the first two phonetic "al" were taken from the front and placed at the back , hence the word "Al-anaa'am" become "anaa'am-al" = Animal , and most probably was done attentionally to twist the word and allow the killing of all existing creatures by classifying them as being Animal = Al-ann'am. the concept of swamping the article "al." to the end of the word is very common in french and English tongue like , National = Al-nass/people ...
In my understanding "dan Al-Anaa'am " is literally meaning the ears of the livestock , same as in 7-179 and 7-195 and 22-46 , the word dan as you can see how i written it , it is written with the extension phonetic "" after Al-hamza "A" , wich make the word dan./ears plural and morphologicaly different than the word "adn./Announcement" found in the verse 9-3.
As for the root "btk." there is a scientific phenomena in the Arabic (original) tongue witch is the phenomen of "antagonism " , brother Loxbox mentioned something about it , witch is absolutely correct . When we swap the phonetics of the root "btk." in a antagonic way , we got literally the opposite of the main root , morphologicaly and semantically , hence "btk." become "ktb." , the form change symmetrically to the opposite so the meaning followed the same concept. This phenomen is common in some roots but not all of the roots , why ? i don't know yet.
"ktb." mean to write , the writing is a social functional concept that was developed later according to the developpement and the need of the society itself , the 3th root "ktb." was built from the basic innate meaning ( ي of the second root "kt" , in the beginning of the society who used the original sounds phonetics they were in no need for the function of writing , so the word "ktb./to write" was not used yet , what was used in the primarily stage of the first society is the word at the form of the 2nd root "kt." who mean to group or to assemble
) . . بIt is where the Arabic expression "kth alahyah. /Bushy beard" as the beard is full or grouped . also " .kt al-ma fi satl /to collect the water in the pail " , when this society started to use written , pen , paper etc , they used the 2nd root verb "kt." + the phonetic "b" to express the phenomen of writing , so they used the 3th root verb "ktb./to write" for that , why ?
As we saw "kt." mean to group or to collect , when the phonetic "b" added we got the 3th root verb "ktb./to write" , the phonetic "b" did give an extra meaning to the action of "kt." , it gives it the meaning that in the phonetic "b" itself witch is
2
b Sound indicates a stable collectionlets see now how the word "ktb./to write" was developed through the meaning of the phonetic from the primary usage (ي "kt./ to group" to a more complex-ed functional usage (ي "ktb./to write" The 2nd root "kt." who mean to group or to collect , become more collected and stable by adding "b" at the end. the phonetic "k" indicate a stop or a light pressure and the sound "t" indicate a light stopped push , here it's the image
"k" The light pressure + "t" the stopped pushing + "b" the stable collection , this is the physical objective image when someone is about to write something .
The "k" light pressure is manifested in the form of getting the pen , the paper etc
The "t" Light stopped push is manifested in the form of the effort of thinking and regrouping the words and fix them in the paper.
The "b" stable collection is manifested in the form of the book or the piece of paper where all writing is stably collected in a stable place. it's like if the phonetic "b" is holding and preserving stably the movement and the work done by the phonetic "k" and "t" . when there is a significant long period of "k" light pressure and "t" Light stopped push , we add the phonetic "" to give the extension , as the phonetic "" indicate extensionSound indicates extension and straightness
This extension is manifested as to write a book you need a extended period of time , so we add the extension "" after "k" and "t" and before "b" , So we got the word "Ktb./a book".
So the phenomen of writing is having the same meaning , it's about regrouping something to something , its about regrouping the thoughts or the meaning in the form of a calligraphy into a book
) . . .
. . . ; .
So back to the root "btk." and the phenomen of "antagonism " , as we see the root"ktb." was developed through the semantic of to group , to collect , hence antagonistically the root "btk." would mean to ungroup , to uncollect , and in deep its about to cut or to slit , so it mean to cut or to slit the ears of the livestock in the verse 4-119
( ) . . . . .
The phenomen of clipping the ears of the livestock is still existing today
http//imageshack.us/photo/my-images/845/dsc02805ed.jpg/
I'll add some thoughts about Livestock later inchallah brother as it's very important subject.

Thank you Pazuzu for your post and interesting analysis!
You are probably informed about Dr Imad Hassan and his book "The ShajaraCode Decoded" where he postulates and apparently affirms that actually livestock WAS send from space and arrived from outer space...
Looking forward for your next thoughts...
Thank you

I was not aware of this Shajara Code website until very recently, actually. The source for my post was from the website of an Egyptian scholar by the name of A'mr al-Shaer. He talked about the "secret of livestock" many times on his website but I never bothered to read his sources or referrences.
Now I see it. And yes, you are right. I guess I will go look deeper into this Shajara Code when I have time.
Thank you Al-Kitab for your analysis of the word "kataba". Mohammad Shahrour, I think, he agrees with you, as he also gave ktb the same meaning to join or group elements or units together to form a logical or complete meaning.
Hence, when you write (ktb) a sentence, you are basically joining words together to form a meaning. This does not have to be penned down on a paper. (So you can ktb a sentence orally, if you want).
Can you tell me what the word bakata means then? I have asked this question to quite a few people and have not yet received a convincing answer. What is the difference between Bataka and Bakata ??
Maybe this Shaer fellow got the two terms confused?
As for the relation between Al-An'am and Animal, it only confirms many peoples' suspicion that Arabic is a far older and more orignal language than what we have first thought, and that more likely it was the Greeks (the fathers of the European civilization) who borrowed from Arabic, not the other way around. But some peopel are too stubborn with pride to accept this.
As we are conducting research to complete Book 2 of "Arabia the Untold Story", a friend of mine stumbled on Arabic inscriptions written with Thamudic letters (believe it or not), which confirms that the language existed many centuries before the so-called "Semitic" alaphabets were even developed.
I'll add some thoughts about Livestock later inchallah brother as it's very important subject.
Yes, of course. The issues of livestock, Hajj, and hunting restrictions are directly related. We cannot understand one without referring to the other.
Peace...

How does "marking the ears" or "clipping the ears" of the livestock fit with this boast? Do people still mark or clip the ears of livestock today? The answer is obviously NO. So where is the credibility of the sign in 4119 then?
Simple things made mysterious.
Code of Hammurabi states that the practice of earmarking is in vogue over 3800 years.
It is done even today

DOES THE QURAN ALLOW THE EATING OF LIONS, DOGS, CATS, RATS ETC?

Salam Pazuzu and all
quite interesting, !! SubhanAllah your guys are.... ! bravoStill...there is something else...an expression used by the Quran to describe the creation of livestock that was not used to describe any other animal...
As crazy as that sounds, that's exactly what the Quran is telling us
{And He sent down to you eight pairs of the livestock}
The word "send down" is used in the Quran for livestock, iron, water. When we find water, however,we found added 'from heaven'.
Surely Allah used every word precisely. Means Nazal obligatory send down?
Thanks and Salam -
