(Fasting) for a fixed number of days; but if any of you is ill or on a journey the prescribed number (should be made up) from days later. (WA- cALAA 'ALLADHENA YUT.EQON -HU) FOR THOSE WHO CAN DO IT (with hardship) is a ransom the feeding of one that is indigent. But he that will give more of his own free will it is better for him and it is better for you that ye fast if ye only knew 2184
My translation
WA- cALAA 'ALLADHENA YUT.EQON -HU FIDYAH T.AcAAM MISKEN
And for those who (YUT.EQON) CRACKS /BREAKS it, the ransom is the feeding of a poor.
Does YUT.EQON means HARDSHIP / DIFFICULTY?
Is my translation correct?

Taqat-means the utmost that a person can do/do a thing with great difficulty.

I WILL RANSOM ONLY WHEN I AM UNABLE TO KEEP THE FAST.
THE PERSON WHO IS FASTING IS VERY POOR AND LIVES ON ALMS, THEN?

I think the meaning of ransom(=release from captivity(in this case "from fasts")by payment),tell it all.
Yutiquna=Those who are able to/Those who find extremely hard.

Days numbered then whoso is of you sick or on journey number(the same) of days other and upon those who find extremely hard,and can afford it ,is release (from the fasts)by feeding (of) a needy person but whoso does voluntarily good it (is) better for him and that you fast is better for you if you know.

In my understanding as you read on you will be told what are the fixed days and who should abstain, why etc. The difficulty comes when this verses and the ones that follow it are taken out of context and we get ahead of ourselves because we have a preconceived idea of what they say.
