    ASSALAAMU ALAIKUM

I would appreciate if someone could tell me if a Quran Only Organization is available in Hong Kong and Singapore.

My husband is not a Muslim yet (inshaallah) but is willing to go to classes/lectures and I would like him to be guided in the beginning to be inspired further to embrace Islam.

In Singapore, my husband will be required to declare shahada (God and Muhammad version) and I really do not want him to be confuse. They will then issue him a 'Permanent Coversion Certificate' which will then allow US to be married according to the Muslim Law in Singapore.

I don't have much information about this in Hong Kong which is where we live currently. If anyone out there is from Hong Kong, appreciate if you could help us out too. Cantonese or English (preferred) lectures.

If being a Muslim means submitting to ONE GOD and do good things, then my husband would be considered one, I think, since ALLAH (swt) is the only GOD he has ever declared when he is being grateful to. But he has not had shahada 'ritual'.

I would really appreciate any help you can give me. It is important to me that he doesn't get confused, since being new to Islam, but also that he learns and embrace Quran Only Islam. Moreover, I would also like to relearn Islam as a Quran Only-One God system.

    Thank you in advance!

      Dear fmgirl,

There is a coordinator for Free-Minds in Singapore, but I have not been able to reach him. You find the details under ?Members? from the main page.

I understand your frustration with humans stepping in for God and issuing a certificate as ?Muslim?. This is a paper actually just certifying the issuer?s total ignorance of God.

But if you want your marriage to be approved by a human community, you must adhere to the rules set up by humans of that community.
If you want your marriage to be approved by God, then you must adhere to the rules of God.
If you want your marriage to be approved by the human community as well as God, then you must compromise and hope for God?s forgiveness.

As far as I know there is no community following the words and laws of God, anywhere in the World, even though there are many individuals whishing for it.
Seems we, humans, just have not found a way yet.
In the meantime, I sincerely hope your problems will be solved.

      Best regds

      Ali Omar

        Peace sister fmgirl,

For pragmatism's sake, I'd say your future husband should just do as required by the authorities. Just don't take it too seriously--take it as mere formality. There's little point in making fuss over bureaucracy.

But I do hope your future husband can learn the right path and reap the benefits.

Hello, i myself went through all that is required of a convert to be to ?slam""by the govt of singapore, and now my wife is too.
I remember marrying my wife via the civil ceremony and the local muslim authority making a fuss over it. We are into our 4th yr of marriage and everything''s is still fine between us.
what matters is in your mind.
Oh yeah, i remember seeing chinese non- muslim women newscasters wearing headscarves in some arab muslim countries but they still did not forget upon coming back home to eat thier favourite pork dish. i do not mean to offend - just to state as example.
you have to make adjustments to keep yourself sane and safe BUT not to make compromises when it comes tofaith.
Even to this i am still fighting off sunnis who get in the way. Hopefully one day we too will be accepted .
          God help us all
