It makes one ponder on the example of Paradise.
1335 The example of the Paradise which the righteous are promised, is that rivers flow beneath it, and its provisions are continuous as is its shade. Such is the abode of those who were righteous, while the abode of the rejecters is the Fire.
4715 Is the example of the Paradise; that the righteous have been promised with rivers of pure water, and rivers of milk whose taste does not change, and rivers of wine that are delicious for the drinkers, and rivers of strained honey, and for them in it are all kinds of fruits, and a forgiveness from their Lord; like that of those who abide in the Fire, and are given to drink boiling water that cuts-up their intestines?

Peace, I agree very strongly MMKhan. Although I did not look at the arabic grammar/syntax I did observe that nuance between the two forms of jannat although having missed out the arabic knowledge lead to some confusing questions like "why did we have to descend", why are we ascending, how do you descend from a physical jannat, etc.
It is clear to me however that we were always on Earth. The universe is a work in progress. So the early jannat could only really be a state of liberation from which we fell. But on the other hand, the jannat of the hereafter is very physical and not only that but it is the merging of both conceptions, virtual and physical altogether.
There is an incredibly strong parallel between what you are saying here about abiding in this state of virtual jannat and the path of Zen or Taoism. Zen is something you cultivate, like a garden within yourself and the water/light/nourishment is the adhering to the actions which are in line with the Tao or as we call it in this circle, Sunnatullah. Doing bad deeds causes one to slip out of Zen, doing good deeds draws you back in. I feel very happy reading posts like these as it confirms yet again that there is a central core truth that is accessible to all humans by looking at the light shining within, irrespective of where God has placed you on Earth.
Please do look further into Zen. I have experienced a few times abiding in something like the state you describe, where all of one's needs are fully attended to by God and in return one is fully attending to God's commandments. The sensation of being wrapped in a warm protective blanket and a constantly sunny day wherever you go, totally free of suffering and negativity. It's something that most people outside of the fold of truth-seeking find incredibly hard to believe is even remotely possible but then God did promise to make the lives of those who reject His commands very miserable.
