I am in this topic new too is good to see you people joining the truth, but remember that you need proof for Quran as quranist or you would be like a well trained fire fighter with no water.

Could you clarify the last part of your statement beg. with "proof of the Qur'an" to the end of the sentence. I really didn't quite get what you were trying to say, and I want to! So... do you mean be prepared, study up? or... anything in PARTICULAR?
(modified couple minutes later) Oh wait---Proofs, that sounds familiar, hmmm. Are you referring to NINETEEN? If you are, I am still looking into that one. You see, it's MATH. And perhaps it's the messenger and the history of the USI or UCS (though I am THANKFUL for them for bringing the concepts at least, of GOD alone and Qur'an alone to the forefront of my thinking early in my reversion), well I am taking my time on this evidence, though I certainly DO think it's rational that GOD's Revelation would have a mathematical design. Yes, I haven't given up on that likelyhood, but am VERY wary of cultic fascinations, as I have seen several up close, & well, that just never turns out well. Esp. InshaAllah, for a seeker of truth, even if it means breakin' up the cozy "family" and being Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

You know, I am aware of the Submitters in the Bay Area. And I spoke perhaps out of line, God forbid, when I didn't acknowledge them as being in No. CA. Another welcomer to me on this thread showed me I needed to remember to be more inclusive in my outlook. bravo The reason I am not TRYING to meet these groups is their reliance on the one translation, which i think has many errors, and their reliance on Appendices, etc. as virtually equal to actual Qur'an. This I am not looking for, though I have 2 editions of Rashad's translation (one with the credits given to others, removed). Youssef, if you belong to Submitters group, I value you, for the ones I have met, were delightful and very warm and gracious. As I see in your posts, you are too. I just need to move beyond a rigidity inherent in studying with them. Hence my call out to other Quranists. God willing, I will learn to be more tolerant. Maybe I need elektro shock &

I have found a virus in my understanding tempt , that came from reading biographies about the Prophet (always heavily reliant on hadiths) and praying with certain ex-Sunnis, who against my wishes, included hadiths(sayings) in the sermons and in ordinary discussions. I want to learn only actual Qur'an so I can reject the infection, so I am going SLOWLY ayah by ayah. There is ALWAYS something new every time I pick Qur'an up that I never saw before! !

You are very welcome and I am glad to know that you are following the track of Allah alone by His grace and blessings, mashaAllah.
You may need to run updated anti-virus scan every time you are updated . If you keep hold of Allah tightly, believe me, you may not need any other book on earth, inshaAllah.
There are many patterns set in alQuraan/alKitaab that you may never find in any great dictionaries or expert Arabic grammar books, only Allah can guide you to those in order to understand its true meaning. For example Please take a look at this by clicking here.

Well, we believe that rashad was a messenger, and whoever obeys the messenger obeys God so...
And don't worry, i've been treated with hostility by submitters before and after becoming a submitter. Even from your own Group..... you just gotta forgive & move on, that's what i was inspired. Forgive, and let go!Also, If you're trying to learn the Quran, Try learning by the Quranic Roots. Use Corpus-Quran to learn the roots and their usages. it' is easier to do it this way than to go word by word.

Peace be to you Youssef! I re-read and re-read your reply and mine. I certainly did not mean disdain to you, nor hostility. I was just trying to be matter of fact about why I am not studying with UCS, unless they/you are on a forum like this and maybe then I'll respond! If I am on that thread. I know when i say i am critical of the materials of UCS, it may seem personal to you, but I did not reply in order to send you bad vibes. Rashad's emphasis on staying away from hadiths (even tho he's used them), and monotheist Shahada influenced me very early on, and the math. code may be right! I don't know yet; but I never needed it to confirm my trust in the Qur'an. Not yet anyway.
But I felt I had to explain the reason "why" to SOME degree.
I truly was thanking YOU for reaching out, and also, I've enjoyed your posts and You Tube. No worries.
I welcome your comments in the future because I "think" you are a sincere submitter.
