    A Zillion thanks to God
    Assalaam Alaikum,

This is Urooj Fathima, 22 year old girl from
    Bangalore, India. ([email protected])
First of all let me appreciate the good work and most
importantly the good intentions of this website.
I?d like to share my ?short ?story about how I came
to the Quraan & Quraan ?Alone?.
Well, the process began very early?. & let me
    confess, unintentionally.
It was 2 or 3 yrs ago that I heard of something called
Quraan ?Alone?, - this from my husband (then my
    boyfriend)
Well, he was a Hindu (a highly philosophical and
spiritual person who had practiced many religions in
his quest for the Truth) & me from a pure Sunni Muslim
family. Somehow God so arranged that he from a
different part of the country came here to study & I
quite unwillingly joined the same college. Both of us
met, became friends, and then surprisingly fell in
love. He promised me that he would convert to Islam,
when we will marry, so that there is no problem in
    living with the society.
One fine day he told me that he has accepted the
Faith (traditional Sunni Muslim) with only God as his
witness. I was happy, this went on for quite some
months, suddenly one day we quarreled in a way that
almost led to our break-up, and he left Islam. Then, I
tried to convince him that he was taking a wrong step,
and somehow by God?s Grace he came back to it, later
he started visiting the mosques and learnt the
complete Sunni tradition? in his quest to know the
truth he came across abundant literature that
convinced him of the Divinity of Quraan. He came
across this website & told me of the Quraan alone way.

Being from a strict Sunni family it was very
difficult for me to accept that the Hadith were
erroneous but somehow he convinced me and I too began
believing in the Quraan alone. But I was not that
religious, most of what I believed was what he said
and not on my own understanding of the Quraan.
But one day hell broke loose on me when he pointed
out that the Quraan had ?mistakes??.., that too by
showing me enough ?proofs? he had gathered from some
websites. I didn?t know what to do?? I had no one who
could understand this; this shook my faith in the
Quraan & Islam. But then I started reading the
Quraan?s English translation & one morning woke up for
my Fajr prayer, realized that I was here only & only
to serve one God. I realized that there is no God
except Him. But I also started believing Hadith.
After few days my boyfriend also accepted Islam, Allah
blessed us both & we decide to get married (only to
legitimize our relationship in the eyes of Allah). Our
marriage is the most unconventional one I know of.
Because he believed & believes only in Quraan & I too
had and have an implicit faith in God?s word, so both
took ONLY God as a witness, (as God Himself says that
He is sufficient as a witness) and accepted each other
as husband & wife? of course he paid me my sum of
Mehar. (But we are unmarried in the eyes of the
society & we live apart as of now). Then, somehow I
lost seriousness in religion & became too busy with
    the worldly pursuits.
But a greater trouble was waiting ahead of us, when
once again he started having doubts in the religion.
Somehow he was not convinced that it is the Deen
perfected by God. He left it, & that shattered me. It
is then that I decided to read the entire Quraan
diligently and tried to put it in practice. But even
after reading Quraan I was mute to all the
?allegations? he leveled against the Quraan, (he
didn?t care about the Hadith because he never believed
in them) I would just tell him that he embrace the
faith or he will be an inmate of Hell (God forbid!).
Many a times I would cry so much that he would tell me
clearly that he will embrace Islam (and he did) BUT
only for my sake, not because he believed in it.
Somehow there was a hope, that a day will definitely
come if God wills, when God Himself will guide him
back to Islam. Meanwhile, I tried to follow all that
    I could from the Quraan.
All my prayers were answered and after almost 8
months, he himself told me that; THE one thing he had
been looking for was made clear to him & accepted
Islam, Inshallah, this time for life. Aameen. Thus,
Allah guided me& him to His path when I least expected
    it.
Now, together we discuss & deliberate, by Allah?s
Grace & in course of our discussions & my own
understanding of the Quraan I found that God?s
religion is a simple one. Today slowly but surely one
by one all the traditions have just started falling
out of my life & by my Lord?s Grace I have realized
the only purpose in life-To serve God & prepare for
that AWEFUL day. There is this realization, by God?s
Grace, that the only one who is with us is God & God
ALONE, & all we can do is serve him. And of course I?m
learning to respond to situations as a believer &still
trying to be the good human being God wants us all to
be. Inshallah I succeed in my endeavor. Please say
    Aameen.
But here?s a not I wanted to share with all my
believing brothers & sisters, when we follow Quraan
alone we come across verses that say ?obey god and
    obey the messenger?, like,

    O
you who believe, you shall obey GOD, and obey the
messenger. Otherwise, all your works will be in vain.
This used to strike me because on one hand Quraan
claims to be a complete book on the other hand this
statement?God guided me (through my husband who
explained to me that) obeying the messenger means
following the Quraan, because God always makes it
clear that the ONLY duty of the messenger is deliver
the ?Message plainly, and NOTHING ELSE.
2918. But if ye deny, then nations have denied before
you. The messenger is only to convey (the Message)
    plainly
You shall obey GOD and you shall obey the
messenger. If you turn away, then the sole mission of
our messenger is to deliver the message.
And whenever Mohammad (pbuh) did anything other
than delivering the message, he was doing it just like
any other man. God also repeatedly says that Mohammad
is no one more than an ordinary man. God asks Muhammad
to proclaim that he is a Mortal like us.
    416. Say (unto them O Muhammad) I am only a mortal
like you. It is inspired in me that your God is One
God, therefore take the straight path unto Him and
seek forgiveness of Him. And woe unto the idolaters
Thus, Mohammad did everything an ordinary man did,
like sleeping, eating or for that matter anything.
When used to perform these things he was no one more
than an ordinary man and this was not a part of his
    ?mission?.
This convinced me that the Hadith have no religious
sanction & by not following them I?m not going against
    God? word.
PS I had to tell about my personal relationship
because it is closely related to the way I came to
Quraan alone. Please verify all the details yourself
to be on the safer side.
You shall not accept any information, unless
you verify it for yourself. I have given you the
hearing, the eyesight, and the brain, and you are
    responsible for using them.
I wish all peace, &pray to Allah that He keeps us all
guided to the path that leads to Him & Him alone,
without Satan & our Nafs turning us away from our
    Destiny. Aameen.

3109- To God belongs everything in the heavens and
everything on earth, and all matters are controlled by
    God. Alhamdulillah.

It was a nice reading Urooj. I loved it!

It is a mercy from Almighty God that I have a wife (in Allah's sight, and that's all that matters), who is believing.
You know, there is so much we share and discuss regarding the Quran. These discussions and arguments test our understanding and helps it become deeper and broader. I am very grateful to God.

I am Tatsat/Sadiq, well it doesn't matter with what name you call me, because I was born without a name. I am Urooj's husband.
