I personally believe that Yes Angels do have wings. However, they are created from other materials.

God Also cites in the Quran that he made some creations which walk on 4 or 2 legs or on their stomachs.... and that there is different colors, races, languages etc.

it's understandable that there is different creations with different features, even if they're from the same species.

very interesting- if we look at the heart and we think that it isn't only a machine, and we see the meaning of 'wings' it becomes a new and (for me) logic meaning... )

but your quoted creations are stated as Bashar when i'm remember well. I personally believe that the controller / angels are from the same 'material' as the Ginn. that they are the ginn who are completely obedient and instructed by God to carry out special orders (thanks to their total loyalty to God).
but it's from the 'ghaib'- so we will not know it exactly until we will see them.
Thank you two for your answers )

well, actually i was citing the different creations.

Yes Angels are made in a different way, however they could have shapes that resemble wings.

As I understands it, two or three or four means 'in groups'. God made the angels in a lot of groups. Perhaps it was an old metaphor in arabic once.

              Peace

                  Dear Mirjamnur and others,salam

Well this may be problem of tramslation, because having wings mean to fly like a bird, but angels having wings make no sense, because with wings you can fly only in air and not in atmosphere where there is no air,so this is metaphorous.one writer says wings mean groups,I think this is better translation. It is believed that the horse like flying animal who took Prophet to up in the heavens had wings too. This is meant for the peoples understanding 1450 years back, who thought that to go to Allah up in the heavens one must have wings,a commonsense at that time.thanks

Angels are not the winged creatures so popularly depicted, but heavenly forces that carry out the laws of Allah Almighty governing the universe. They figuratively bow to Allah Almighty since they follow His orders, and they ?bow? to mankind because we are able to study, manipulate, and conquer them.

The following is the translation given by GA Parwez for verse 351

"All Hamd is for Allah the Almighty (11), Who brought the entire universe into being out of nothingness. He has made the heavenly forces a medium to complete His schemes; and some of the forces are multi-functional, each having two, three or four capabilities. He is not sitting idle after creating the universe, but continues to add new creations to it every now and then, as He wills. He has set measures (and laws) according to which everything functions; and He has full control over them"
