...And that birds appear in all mythologies, cults, religions and civilisations is just coincidence.

I actually wanted to comment on this. Do you think it's coincidence that there are similarities between Islam and beliefs of other civilizations? Like with clay creation, but you never replied. I don't see how it disproves anything, rather shows many belief systems originate from one Source.

      Peace StopS.

I am happy for you. You said you are beginning to understand. I have hope for you, that one day ,you will become a believer. I hope this is not wishful thinking on my part.

      Anyway, back to your questions
What about the rest? Mountains, barriers?

Same as the " birdies", whatever God said about them remains true .

      As for this
Does the Koran insinuate that the female was created first and the mate, the man, later? Was the "man", created from dust not actually Adam, but a synonym for mankind in general or woman? And the mate was also mankind again?

Qoran does not say that. It s them " translations" you keep using/trusting. They are the cause of your misunderstanding.
StopS, try a " mind" detox. Cleanse your thoughts from all the misunderstanding of what you think is Qoran but is the opposite.
      Peace.

Let me bring it down to 2 questions to understand how you consolidate this. And I want to thank you for your patience and your willingness to be questioned about your beliefs - even - as you must notice they are somewhat alien to me.

      1. Are you able to demonstrate that mountains are pegs, placed on top of the crust and stabilising the area?
      2. What, in your opinion, was "created" first according to the Koran? A female or a male?

      Thanks

If I missed a question, I sincerely apologise. I don't intentionally ignore questions, except if I have just answered them or they are really just taunts to get me emotional and angry.

All civilisations thought about their origins and the obvious lights in the skies. If I get thrown onto an island, have no education or information, I would probably also ask myself where I came from and where I am. I would start making assumptions and try to interpret reality around me. I would not know that thunder and lightning belong together or that sun and moon are celestial bodies with orbits and that the place where I am is totally insignificant, on the outskirts of the Universe.

So, yes, it is coincidence and yes, different belief systems had similarities and others had huge discrepancies. No, I don't see a common source. No, there are no similarities between Thor, Bacchus, Amor, Shiva and Ometecuhtli.

1- I am not a geologist. I have read information and listened to a talk about mountains as " peg"/ "stabilisers" for earth. I will search and bring you that information later, in another post.

2- It does not matter, should it? God said He started the creation of " Human" from clay.

          Peace.

            1. ok, thanks. I appreciate it.
            2. Yes, it does matter. We have the man and the mate. You made the claim that all this is factually correct. I doubt this. I said that science and biology are very explicit and accurate on what form is created first. I challenged you to demonstrate that the Koran is equally precise in naming the female being created first and then the male. You can't suddenly declare it does not matter. As far as I know the Koran does not specify "human" as such. Also, there are 13 different materials mentioned in the Koran, all of which are used to create a human, not just clay, which is highly debatable in itself.

No, it is not. It's long outdated. You've been watching too much of Zakir Naik or Harun Yahya.

I know the book, I know the diagrams.
Does it mention pegs? NO! Fail!
Does it mention function? NO! Fail!
Does it mention that mountains "stabilise the earth"? NO! Fail!
Do Fold Mountains, Volcanic Mountains or Residual Mountains have roots? NO! Fail!

                      Peace ,

Even if a Quran caused mountains to move, or the earth to tear asunder, or the dead to speak (they will not believe). GOD controls all things. Is it not time for the believers to give up and realize that if GOD willed, He could have guided all the people? The disbelievers will continue to suffer disasters, as a consequence of their own works, or have disasters strike close to them, until GOD's promise is fulfilled. GOD will never change the predetermined destiny.

And He placed stabilizers (mountains) on earth, lest it tumbles with you, as well as rivers and roads, that you may be guided.

Mountains due not "put down roots" to hold onto something beneath the crust to help hold them still. The base of mountains are still in the floating crustal zone of the earth. When plates move the mountains move with them. The only resistance they can add is the resistance of inertia, it takes more oomph (energy) to move a large plate with big mountains than it does to move a small plate with little or no mountains.

Mountains due not "put down roots"

When you look at the mountains, you think that they are standing still. But they are moving, like the clouds. Such is the manufacture of GOD, who perfected everything. He is fully Cognizant of everything you do.

The earth's crust is relatively thin and it is more difficult for the crust to move
because of the weight of the mountains, like pulling a carpet
with a small child on it.

                      God reveals when he pleases

                      Peace O0

You made the claim. I asked for you to substantiate it. You can't.

No, the evidence YOU chose is out of date. I asked about the Koran. If you suddenly quote some guy who wrote a book in the 90's it is not my fault. I asked you only about the Koran.

Conclusion you have no answers to my questions and are unable to explain why you believe what you believe and simply shut your eyes and ignore reality. Ok, fine. I am just looking for opinions and how modern Muslims handle the modern world.

I am sorry to say that your misconceptions and misunderstandings are veiling your eyes from Qoran.

You have been claiming that your intentions to know and question are genuine. The answers to your posts from various members point to the opposite.

Actually you claim you know everything and whatever anyone says , " your brand of Science" refutes it.

So just for the record I genuinely tried to answer your questions. You are right, as far as you are concerned, I failed. Like everybody else in this forum.
                            Thank you again.

                                    Peace.

I've asked this question before in another thread, but it was never answered...

When the Qur'aan conflicts with the given positions of modern science, which position should we uphold? Should we accept the Qur'aanic viewpoint, which (seemingly) conflicts with reality? Or should we acknowledge that the Qur'aan may be wrong about some things and adopt the scientific (realistic) viewpoint?

To cite one example, the Qur'aan implies that the sun sets in a 'muddy spring', or 'murky water' (Q. 1886). In the 14th century, it was common for people to accept this as reality. However, in today's world, in which scientific advancement and understanding is prevalent, we know that this concept is completely ridiculous. In other places, the Qur'aan proposes the concept of a 'flat earth' (e.g. Q. 1847; 2053; 4310; 786), and it even attempts to verify this position by stating that, due to ALLAH's power over celestial objects, the 'sun never overtakes the moon' (Q. 3640). Again, today, we know that this concept is ridiculous. Many people have recently attempted to reconcile their religious ideologies with the Qur'aan, generally by trying to shape their knowledge of science around their belief. In other words, they allege that, even though the Qur'aan uses those specific references and descriptions, that's not "really" what it's saying. Yet, the wording is very clear.

Which position should we uphold? When the Qur'aan conflicts with modern science, are we willing to admit that the Qur'aan may be wrong on some things? Or should we adopt the (generally accepted Islamic) position that the Qur'aan is completely correct and modern science simply hasn't 'caught up' with it?

                                    Peace,

                                    Ahmad

                                        Peace Ahmed.

Everything you quoted about Qoran in your last post was " Mistranslated". There is no conflict between Qoran and true Science.

                                        Peace.

Are you willing to "re-translate" and rewrite extensive parts of the Koran? I can bring up hundreds of instances where reality and the Koran present a problem. There's a site which comments every line of religious books like the Bible, the Mormon book, Koran. You can read the pages regarding the Koran and see the huge volume of lines we are talking about. http//skepticsannotatedbible.com/quran/index.htm

Don't go if you are easily offended.

                                          Peace StopS.

I have seen/read worse from people who are confused and their language/translations/understanding are even more confused than they are!

Like I said before, what is clear to some is foggy to others and what is truth to some is falsehood to others.

Do you really want to know the truth or is your mind made up and you have other aim/s?

All I can add is the following

22 17 ? Those who believe, those who are Jewish, the Converts ( to any religion), the Christians, the Zoroastrians ( and any name you wish to give to man s religion) and the idol worshippers ( and the Muslims, Hindus, the thousands of religious sects, the disbelievers, the Atheists, etc?) GOD is the one who will judge among them on the day of Resurrection. GOD witnesses all things.?

                                          What more can I say?

                                          Peace.
