If you bother to read the thread, you will see that it was addressed to brother/sister confused for a good reason. It has nothing to do with what you are asking me. it was not addressed to you.
You are now making an assumption and quoting out of context.

I was very much aware of that. It was a question which I hoped you could answer. I was not aware that assertions addressed at a person where not allowed to be added to. Are we getting bitchy now?

      Peace StopS.

I am sure if you go back and read the thread. You will find the reason i asked confused not to close his mind.

I do not get " bitchy" with anyone. I was surprised you made the wrong assumption.
      Peace.

Did I ask about confused or you? confused had some issue with a question he missed. Mine was totally unrelated.

I am starting to doubt the logics of your logics.

Could you please explain what you mean by "open" your mind?

Is your mind open enough to accept Thor as a god? Or are you so close minded that you will immediately reject any notion that Thor could be a god?
Have you closed your mind to the fact that Allah is the only god for you?
If you are so close minded on an issue, why do you expect others to be open minded on the very same issue?

" Open " your mind was said to confused for a reason. That is what I meant by it. Addressed to confused alone.

So why would you want to ask me about it?

            Peace.

You are asking me something illogical. I did not say to anybody else to " Open " their mind.

I explained who I said it to and why?

So there is no opinion or answer required.

Do you understand what I am saying?

I am asking you some questions, which I am curious how you will answer them

How can I answer this claim. I did not say this to anyone for no reason!

You might as well ask me Can I define what I mean by " Go to hell"?

It's pity that this thread didn't continue with good information. But this is an interesting thread that Confused has open up. In the way of life it's reasonable or even forced to think more than what you are used to believe or think.

We need to be able to discuss with respect to everyone's thinking and without imposing our self-understanding to others. Everybody have different life experiences and and we have different ways to understand life and how to live it. That's what I call religion or "way of life"

From this kind of forums the most valuable things I learn are How and why people think the way they think or believe. It helps me to understand life better. The purpose of life? Why we exists?

StopS asked a question to GoodLogic.

Let me try to answer the question.

I am open minded enough to listen all that you say and think rationally about it. I am courage enough to accept the truth even though I don't like it or it hurts my feelings.

Have you closed your mind to the fact that Allah is the only god for you?

No. Actually I think only God is the God. When I say "Laa Ilaaha Illallah" I mean "there is no god except the god". So I don't think Thor or Allah can be the god.

                        I like when you say

If a god is omniscient, he will know what evidence I require.
If a god is omnipotent, he can provide the evidence I require.
If a god is merciful, he will provide the evidence I require.

Anyone can believe in anything. A person can believe 1 + 1 = 5 too. But beliefs without reason or proof is just wishful thinking. 1 + 1 = 2 in reality even some of us may not like that.

I am happy I meet you truth-seeking people. Wish you good health and good life and better understanding of life.

Just wanted to say that being illogical is not the same as being open minded. Making Thor as you God is being illogical NOT open minded. Take the example of Abraham - he was open minded(logical) enough to reject the religion of his people while he rejected the sun as God as he found that illogical. And honestly, many of the things which happens around us are illogical but people accept it because they are narrow minded.

678 So when he saw the sun rising, he said "This is my Lord, this is bigger." But when it disappeared he said "My people, I am innocent of what you have set up."

The homepage of Free Minds has this statement

This website invites all people of various beliefs (Sunni, Shia, Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Bahai, Agnostic, Humanist, and even Atheists) to come and examine for themselves the system of Submission/Islam which is based on God Alone.

So why are people here upset that an atheist came in and opened a thread? Isn't that the whole point of this forum?

It is obvious that some here are offended by your atheist thoughts. Atheists have been condemned for centuries by religious people.

I can share with you, that after leaving sunnism I was also an atheist for a period until I began studying Quran on my own. And I bet many people have one time or another in their life (to a certain extent) been familiar to atheistic thoughts, although most of them would not admit it due to the strong condemnation of atheists.

                              Peace

Life is complicate and it looks like it is designed to force us to think despite our culture, desires or religion or whatever. We are free to believe what ever we want with absolute freedom.

How things are and how we think of things are two different thing.

Atheism is not a new religion. Thinking things happens in life is due to reasons by some chance is easy. But sometimes it is not. Sometimes things happen and we know some atheists have opted to knocking the doors of theism.

It's true where there are majority the minority is condemn. If I am in a majority atheist forum I am usually condemn for my belief. Even for saying simple things like the universe must have a god because it's not eternal and is only around 14 billion years of age and so there is not enough time in terms of probability to arrange all these things from sub-atomic particles to atoms to molecules to stars to planets to living creatures just by chance only. Science also have fairy tales like stories when it comes to explain genesis with strings theory, quantum-mechanics, membranes and multiverse etc.

I don't feel logical to think everything that happened in my life is by chance because I have experienced very improbable things myself. The only ways for me to explain those things is by something other than chance.

                                Peace

                                  Peace,

Science can co-exist with religion, one does not exclude the other. God and His religion is difficult or even impossible to explain using science, but you can explain science with religion when thinking about creation. Religion does not have many rules of thumb except what is written in God's scripture and you can not verify it by conventional means.

Well, religion and science are not compatible. Science exists because God created a functional world so mankind can explain how it works in their primitive or limited ways. God and His religion is the root which everything originates from, including science. You can explain it like in an operating system access restriction, the root needs Super User (SU) access and the standard user (the human) has no read/write/view access to the root. The SU (God) can execute commands which are visible (regarded as signs) to humans in the operating system (game world) which is the source of Guidance in this world. The root environment is what is regarded as Unseen in Quran.

Since science or mankind has no root access it is unable to find any traces of God which its methods can discover. We can only find God by abstract thinking and spirituality. This is why religion is completely incompatible with science as it needs access to root to research.

                                  God bless you

If you're an atheist, where will you find comfort when life becomes extremely difficult?? If you have faith, that faith will act as your life-jacket and keep you from drowning when life becomes extremely hard- so long as you continue to hold on to your life-jacket of course. If you don't have faith, you won't have a life-jacket and you will drown easily. I have seen the truth of this with my own eyes.

                                        Peace.

IMHO the way to the path of the God?s and the system of the universe are designed to be in Order. That?s why there are Laws governing the universe and principles/laws for us to follow.

The God has to be discovered. From reasoning we can only construct an idea that something make things happen. We don?t say nothing makes things happen. So that something is your God, whatever it is. Your discovery ends where it matters most to your mind at the moment.

Feel free to reason your belief. When everything is in Order in your mind, then you come to a state of certainty.

How we construct the meanings on all these phenomena whether we can see or don?t will determine our success and failure in life and the hereafter.

When you think you know better than other people you are in a state of egoistically arrogant. When you humble, sincere, honest and all that are good in you, you have a greater chance to see something you have not seen before. It means seeing things in plain truth with certainty. Some may have to be in a state of extreme despair or deep trouble or terrible pains in order to make the final call to the God and readily accept His Realness. That is the natural episode in the life of a God seeker or a God rejector whether you like it or not, willingly or not.

                                          Peace.

Basically, science is about the process of knowing what we want to know and coming to a definition of all those things. Once known and defined we have knowledge.

The fundamental question to any person is what is knowledge?

One school of thought says knowledge is the meaning we construct to represent the truth, based on scientific reasoning and methodology, on a phenomenon.

Another school of thought says knowledge is the true meaning that comes through inspiration/revelation, from the God, on a phenomenon.

So they are a party who would like to be known as scientists and there a party who would like to be known as holy or religious people.

So that?s where the separation begins. The problem begins when one party claim that they are more superior and wish do dominate. Mankind has witnessed persecution and revolution.
