Is Reading Novels Forbidden in Quran???

Al-Quran 316 "Among the people, there are those who accept baseless hadiths to mislead from the path of God without knowledge, and they take it as entertainment. These will have a humiliating retribution.
Although here the Hadith is translated as it is, but I am quite in doubt confused confused confused whether in the very remote sense this verse forbids the reading of novels or stories meant for children for entertainment....???? -\ -\ -\
I request people to share their views as freely as possibly here as I am in dire need of comments.

Any act aimed at "killing the time" is Khabis--of no use-benefit-or is of unqualified pleasure-----"time consumed for useful purposes" is Tayyub--beneficial-of good import.
Everything "Khabis" is prohibited--
Everything "Tayyub" is permissible.

This line of reasoning should dsuggest even listening of music, drawing paintings to be Haraam...........btw reading novels is not a time waste for me

- It improves my imagination
- It improves my writing skills which could be helpful in case i want to write a book.

to me, hadith seems more like these stupid stories about the royal families, or gossip about your neighbours. To read a novel even if you don't learn directly fro it (if it doesn't lead you astray) can just help you to recover from mental exertion.
The "killinh the time" issue is that of course no part of your lifetime should be worth killing it but should be seen as a gift, even if it seems boring or unpleasant at first glance. -

If we just remember this we might be able to differentiate in what should we do and what should be avoided.
And he the Messenger declares for them permissible-lawful the things which are sanctified-decent-beneficial and nutritious and declares non permissible-unlawful-restrained for them the things which are indecent and deficiently unpropitious.
Just study these two words and make them the criterian for determining good and bad.

Is this not referring to matters of the Deen? sun Even if one wants to read hadith of any Prophet (peace upon them all) or Aesop's Fables or anything else, it would seem to be fine based on the best understanding--insofar as it is NOT impinging/influencing on the Deen.
732 Say "Who has made unlawful the nice things that GOD has brought forth for His servants and the good provisions?" Say "They are meant for those who believe during this worldly life, and they will be exclusive for them on the Day of Resurrection." It is such that We explain the revelations for those who know.
Continue to enjoy the nice things and good provisions; if it isn't to your taste then abstain and find something that you do enjoy.
