Are there any rituals part of Gods way?

Just curious to know if anybody thinks there is such a thing - might be my missunderstanding though.

I think the ablution is kind of ritualistic, or maybe people only do it in a ritualistic manner. People also make it ritualistic to say things before they eat. When people greet each other they attribute a ritual of saying 'salam' to each other to the koran. I think they miss the point, 'good day' is a good greeting and nothing wrong with peace. It is always assumed that there is a certain level of arabic within the forum, maybe thats appropriate to assume.
Timing of 'salat', wouldn't you say that is ritualistic? not being flexible and abiding by this rule?
Apart from the above I can't think of many other things, maybe its just the people that make it seem ritualistic and create these rituals. This seems true because when I study the reading I don't see things to be very ritualistic.
I guess all the things I mentioned are not the Creator's way rather the humans way.
