    -AnNisa'u Meanings told by Qur'aan.

The word appears 59 times in different cases and states.

There are three overlapping roots in discussion about this word

    1. ;

The simple and easy way to determine its meanings are to study one by one its occurrence in different Ayahs and semantic fields. We must not run to second occurrence without first deciding about its meanings in first Ayah. In case of contradictory opinions, we will assign all those meanings suggested and move to next occurrence. Here goes the first occurrence and repeated use in same context at other three places

The difference is and that clarifies that it was slaughtering-killing-murdering.

    The victims were

Those who were not victim but were allowed to live

The Pronoun suffixed with both the Nouns refers to the same people. Both the Nouns are the direct object of preceding verb.

    Against what would signify?

Against sons-----daughters/women-----or weak people comprising men and women---or forgetful people comprising of women and men.

    My opinion Daughters/women

      Salaam Mazhar,

      Thank you for your post.

I understand in a different way, not as sons.

is a singular form of and it means "build/make/construct" not "son". Please take a look at the following aayaats.

      6611
6611 And Allah presents an example of those who believed the wife of Pharaoh, when she said, "My Lord, build for me near You a house in Paradise and save me from Pharaoh and his deeds and save me from the wrongdoing people."

      4036
4036 And Pharaoh said, "O Haman, construct for me a tower that I might reach the ways -

      436
436 Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful.

Look at the translation, no translation for nor . Please take a look at other translations also by clicking here.

      546
546 And We sent, following in their footsteps, Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light and confirming that which preceded it of the Torah as guidance and instruction for the righteous.

I think we may need to understand the meaning of , then inshaAllah, it may help us understand the meaning of .

        Salam, mmkhan,

I have taken this issue to new thread. Please give opinion only about AnNisa in relation to four quoted Ayah. What do you think it signifies?

          Salaam Huruf,

I too see this thread being derailed. But I started this thread to show two things

1). Nisaa' does not (and cannot) mean women.

Such scholars keep talking in air and issuing verdicts. When it comes to specifics, they say we ignore. How naive!

The above four occurrences are not yet disputed that they signify this word as women. We move forward and see AnNisaa as an entity with whom intercourse is done.

in general sense is obscenity and has negative moral connotation of causing sexual harassment and is not desirable in public. It becomes positivistic when it is aimed and directed towards one's wife in the sense of incitement related preliminaries which will prepare the ground for her involvement and consent and could lead to both partners achieving "tranquility". This is the beginning, the ultimate of which is the most intimate act of matrimonial relationship. The verb is of Form-III which reflects mutuality. Arabic is the most decent language of the world. It conveys that in the most sophisticated and subtle manner which if explained and exposed in any other language the nudity will over brim.

If here this word does not mean women and because of possessive construction "the wives", then propose what you think it signifies.

denotes that sexual act which a man does only with a women. It needs enterance point. And that is specific only to women.

All members of the forum belong to what is denoted by Arabic word AnNaas. But they are further divided into men and women. Have a look on the signs appearing under their names. A woman cannot be a man and a man cannot be represented by similar sign.

See AnNisaa means only and only women.

Those scholars who are starting afresh should tell who are these with whom you have "entered"?
