~ Night of decree the natural way
-
Peace,
First, let's trash Gregorian calendar once forever. It only causes misguidance in noticing the natural luni-solar time measurement.
Second, what remains?
- The phases of the moon as the precision of counting the years of the sun.
At this point in time, I am seeing that the Night of Decree is the New Moon/Zero Moon of the winter solstice.
I agree that the winter solstice is the anchor. But I don't agree that each year it is on exact winter solstice. Because the following year the new moon doesn't match with the winter solstice.
So from the new moon of the winter solstice, to the new moon of the luni-solar year after, is how one would find the night of decree.
That's for now what I can see.
Praise be to Lord of you and me.
Peace,

Actually there is some academic stuff out there that apparently confirms Night of Decree in winter solstice linking it with Christmas, trying to say that Mohammad and early Islam saw itself as a continuation of Xtianity.
The importance of the winter solstice, (when the sun starts "growing" prolonging the days and the "light", was inevitable for all religions, and certainly for the creation of a festival called Christmas.
The philosophical dilemma though, could be are we supposed to live like plants and animals in perfect concordance with the passage of the sun and the moon, or should we take advantage of our mind and intellect (since apparently we are the only ones to posses it in the universe) and allow it to lead us into new realities like the one we are all witnessing in the 21st century, (technology, internet et al), creating our own set of week and days and day-numbering?http//1.bp.blogspot.com/-FCJpyuxMQGM/TgF9Pm9vuKI/AAAAAAAAAMc/-pYmrFOnABs/s1600/astrology_discovery_large.jpg

GODSubmitter If you would turn your response into prayer, what would it be?
Think less, and pray more.
