Hadith in translation of Quran?

Was reading some verses untill I went hypno while reading one specific translation of 3918

Sahih International
Who listen to speech and follow the best of it. Those are the ones Allah has guided, and those are people of understanding.
Pickthall
Who hear advice and follow the best thereof. Such are those whom Allah guideth, and such are men of understanding.
Shakir
Those who listen to the word, then follow the best of it; those are they whom Allah has guided, and those it is who are the men of understanding.

Now compare these translations with this one

Muhsin Khan
Those who listen to the Word and follow the best thereof (i.e. worship Allah Alone, repent to Him and avoid Taghut, etc.) those are (the ones) whom Allah has guided and those are men of understanding (like Zaid bin 'Amr bin Nufail, Salman Al-Farisi and Abu Dhar Al-Ghifari).

Seriously, why do some translators fill so much nonsense in brackets in translations?
And is this translator seriously trying to let us know that Allah is refering "men of understanding" to
"Zaid bin 'Amr bin Nufail, Salman Al-Farisi and Abu Dhar Al-Ghifari" ?! (people I have never heard of)

I believe the brackets are usually not the translations, but an addendum to it probably from the school of thought the translator is making use of. That last translation has some serious use of brackets though. Haha.
