    Peace,

And We created you, then We shaped you, then We said to the Angels ?Submit to Adam;? so they submitted except for Satan, he was not of those who submitted.

If one reads this verse, doesn't it sound like "Adam" is all of us...? God is saying We created you; then shaped you, then We said to the Angels "Submit to Adam;"

So if I was created, then shaped, why was there a need for God to bring Adam in the middle? Just wondering.

May Allah Bless us with Wisdom!

"We created you" commands our attention to god Who then speaks,
"We shaped you" which means that He taught us all names, the ultimate intelligence and the power of Wisdom over everything He created to shape us up to the status called "Adam"; and that everything on earth and in the heavens must submit to our command, if we are stable on the status as Adam.

Peace be upon you Green Leaves,

Yes, "adam" represents each and every one of us.

We all of the animal side to us ( we are mammals), as well as the Divine side which the God "blew" into us, thereofre we are INDIVIDUALS (Indivisible dualities).

Each time the animal side (emotions/desires) urges you to do something, that is shaytaan(rejecting thoughts) tempting Adam, and each time we give into our Animal side over our Divine side, we are falling.

The Story of Adam happens ALL DAY , EVERYDAY D

        Can you see it?

From adam stage to the stage of sahitaan we see all categories here before our very eyes. We see pharaos as well as salamons we have to believe all stages of power are studded with the individuals/communities and nations of this period. Quran brings the whole history of mankind and truthfully, every people of all times is existing as individuals and communities around us; and that they shall continue to arrive until the last day so that Quran is appreciated as eternal and is applicable to all time to come.

I'm glad you raised an important question. Pretty obvious when you think about it...and you did!

            Peace!

              Peace be upon you

If Adam is mankind then what is Noah, the family of Abraham and the family of 'Imran?

              333
Lo! Allah preferred Adam and Noah and the Family of Abraham and the Family of 'Imran above (all His) creatures.

Noah, the family of Abraham and the family of 'Imran are also children of Adam.

1770 Now indeed, We have conferred dignity on the children of Adam. And provided them with transport on land and sea and given them decent things of life. And We have favored the humans far above a great many of Our creation.

So 333 is saying that Allah preferred mankind above all His
                  creatures/worlds (alAAalameena)?

Isn't it pretty accurate in terms of metaphors (with reference to the lecture, of course) that "Adam" is so to speak the trademark of the human specie or "ins?n"? Comments?

                      Peace tux,

So 333 is saying that Allah preferred mankind above all His
                      creatures/worlds (alAAalameena)?

I distinguish between the children of Adam (1770) and Adam (333) who is our father

The God has selected Adam, and Noah, and the family of Abraham, and the family of Imran over the worlds.

And We have favored the humans / the Children of Adam (banee adama) far above a great many of Our creation. (1770)

The God doesn't say He has selected the children of Adam, and Noah, and the family of Abraham, and the family of Imran over the worlds.

                      Allah knows best

                      Marie

They are different levels of mankind. The God is trying to show us that these stories are happening right now.

Sorry bro, But I do agree with what you are saying, just that so many people attack me when I say that word, I expected them to be consistent, looks like I was wrong.
