Does 38:24 point to possibly requiring us to do "ruku" when repenting??
-
so 3824 states this
"He said "He has wronged you by asking to combine your lamb with his lambs. And many who mix their properties take advantage of one another, except those who believe and do good works, and these are very few." And David guessed that We had tested him, so he sought forgiveness from his Lord, and fell down kneeling, and repented." (3824)
The free-minds translation here translated ruku into kneeling. I have also seen other translations translate ruku to prostration or bowing.
So what i'm wondering here is, is it actually required for us to do "ruku" when we are repenting?? It would be greatly appreciated if someone can explain to me if this verse is pointing us to if we are required to do ruku when repenting or not.

In the traditonal prayer, we start standing (Qiyaam), bow down (ruku), and prostrate with our heads on the ground (sujud).
Ruku has no reference to prayer cycles. In fact, many people believe that in the Quran, Qiyaam Ruku and Sujud have a totally different meaning. See

Peace Mohf.
I think translating Quran is not enough by dictionary, but we must also use Islamic terminologies which already passed down in many years.
Example is zeena means beauty, but in the Quran means adultery and real meaning of "junub" is "far", but in 56 it's meaning change into "sexual intercouse" etc.
This was already discussed in brother uq's thread in the past http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9605201.0
But it's up to you to follow what

Dear,
You are confused with Zeena and Zina. There are two different root words, they look very much the same but they have very different meaning. One means beauty, the other is usually translated as adultery.

Sorry, I disagree with both statements. Translation is allways inaccurate. Furthermore, translation by dictionary should be minimized and used as little as possible. We only, only use dictionary or other external sources if the root word can not be found elsewhere in the Quran. For example Ramadan is only used once in 2185. In dictionaries we can read it means scorching heat. In ahadith we find all the rituals and traditions how we should fast, etc.
Also, many terms are already defined in the Quran, but beginners usually don't notice this.
Example read 22-4. In 22 Quran uses the word Muttaqeen. Many people don't realise but in 23-4 the exact definition is given of the word Al muttaqeen.
Another example 245. In this verse the Quran uses al khashiAAeen. Again, if you read closely, you notice the Quran defined this term in 246.
Yet when you ask people who Al muttaqeen are, or who Al Khashieen are, they will give you a definition they sucked from their thumb.
To go back Al qiyaam, Ruku and Sujud all are used more than 50 times, so we do NOT need external sources at all.

This is why Arab language is one of difficult language in this world, I nearly dead interested to study Arabic language again.
The proof is there are a bunch of similiar words existed, but will have different makna/meaning just because only different one huruf. The example is "ataan" (female donkey) and "atuun" (kitchen).
As non Arab speaker, my weakness is in it's vocabularies.

But not simple as like this bro.Of course the levels of believer such like mushrik, munafiq, fasiqun already categorized well in the Quran.
I have little time to study Quran, but already found some words which very disturbing if we only use dictionary to translating it.
- in 56 and 434
The word junuban came from the word "janaba" which means far, to avoid and etc.So how the janaba means "state after did sexual" came from?
- Umul Qura in 427
Umul Qura was translated as Makkah in Sunni translation and translated as "Capital Town".If it ws translated as "Capital town" then from where is that capital town?
- Ahlul Al Bayt in 2812
Sunni translating it as Nabi Muhammad's closest sahabat, but Free-Minds translate it as "People of Sanctuary'.
Al Bayt means home and ahlul (ahli in Indonesian) means "people of" is a article word.So Ahlul Bayt means people of the house.
No I will raise a questions, Why Free-Minds translation translate it as "People of Sanctuary"?
Who is people of the house anyway?- Zakat
Simple. How we know zakat means "obligatory charity" while it's real meaning is "purity" if we avoid Classical Arabic?
In the last I want you explain to me, for what is the meaning of "salat, sujud and masjid" according to you, so I will know if you have same prespective with me or not.

Sorry I misswrote my post, I mean in Free-Minds translation it was translated as "Capital", so what is the "capital" reffering to?
