Good for you, "babs". I might admit to occasionally indulging in a bit of EastEnders! O0

It's better than Coronation Street or Hollyoaks. I really can't watch Hollyoaks. Really.

Well, anything is better than 'Emmerdale'-infiltrated by the Southerners!

There are no Southerners in t' Dales!

I don't watch Emmerdale at all so that joke about Southerners is lost on me, sorry...

I also considered that you could be a Hollyoaks fan... if so, don't worry, it will not change my opinion of you! P You are still as dear to me as you ever were! It's just my personal preference. handshake angel

Regarding 'Emmerdale', it wasn't a joke. It's just hugely ironic that a soap opera based in the heart of Yorkshire is full of Southerners, whereas, when I have actually been on jaunts to the Dales, I have never encountered a Southerner even visiting there, let alone one who is resident there. I find it hugely ironic, personally.

No, I don't watch 'Hollyoaks'. In fact, I don't actually watch t.v., unless I watch something on my laptop, and that tends to consist of something informative rather than just pure entertainment value.

          I hadn't realised I'd made a place in your affections. O0

          Peace. peace

          Sajda.

Oooh, am I in trouble! elektro

I don't know about economic deprivation in the Black Country and that's certainly not why I was & The reason I & because you folks tend to have a rather interesting accent. As we'd say in Yorkshire, "There's nowt wrong wi' Black Country!"

Yeah, we do. Me, a bit less so when talking to people from outside the area, but I admit I switch into quite a thick accent when speaking to family or friends. D

What spiritual path/religion were you on before you looked at the hadiths? And what did you believe or practice between finding that and leaving it and then finding Quran only?

I'm the UK, as well. North West - we'll leave it at that. Nice to see we've got a little club here. There have been other people from the UK coming to this forum as well recently... interestingly.

I wasn't raised with any religious upbringing, but when I looked at the Hadiths, I suppose I was an informal, theistic Buddhist.

And then, liberal but practising Unitarian Christian; I was never good with the Trinity, though, and outright rejected it from the get-go. I realized that I have similar beliefs to Islam quite some time ago, but it took a long time for me to accept Islam. Hadiths and Deobandis didn't help.

Since I was raised without religion, it took a long time for me to find my own identity, so I've looked at multiple religions. It's been a constant struggle for me. peace

                  Peace Sajda,

I've tended to just watch RT and Al Jazeera on tv for a while now. I don't believe everything there but they have some good discussion panels and features. Documentaries are often informative though, I really liked the series produced by Professor Brian Cox etc.

Yes, you have made a place in my affections. And so have a few other members here.

That's really a journey. I've had my own as well, I think we all do in one way or another. With Allah's swt help and guidance you will get there step by step. There's no rush but it's important to always stay open minded and not just reject and it seems you have remained open minded etc. There are people who aren't like that and then they want the Signs of the Quran, Allah swt laid before them on a platter, to mock them? I don't know if they'd ever accept it at all. Oh, another thing I should add in relation to this is that there are people who seem to want the conclusion of the existence of God - not the concept of God itself but the conclusion of the existence - to be more elaborate and not 'basic' or 'straightforward' enough. But anyone at anytime should be able to come to the conclusion that God exists without any rigorous training. If it was a rigorous philsophical process that requires one to determine God swt exists, then they would come back and say well that's unfair how do all of those outside of schooling, without access to such resources go about understanding all of this/any of this? It's a Catch 22 again.
