Know the fact Allah the Exalted and His Angels render commendations upon the Distinctly Elevated and Chosen Allegiant .

O those/you, who consciously proclaim to have accepted/become believers, listen!

You are directed to reverently commend and attend to him. And you are required to submit to him salutations showing obeisance in a humble and respectful manner.

    Both the verbs are second person, masculine, plural COMMAND verbs;

If we look at 465 we see the phrase yusallimoo tasleemaa again...

Here the Verb is in Subjunctive Mood; third person; masculine; plural.

commendations Praise of somebody's abilities; recognition of accomplishment.

      Thank you very much

So this poses another question for me. I always wondered we are supposed to praise Allah, but "Muhammad" = "praiseworthy one;" we are to praise him as well, yeah? Is it supposed to be a part of our contact prayer

Allahuma sallay ala Muhammadin wa ala e Muhammadin, Kama sallaeta ala Ibrahima wa ala aal e Ibrahima ina ka Hameedunm Majeed,

Allahumma baarik ala Muhammadin wa ala aal e Muhammadin, Kama barakta ala Ibrahima wa ala aal e Ibrahima inna ka Hameedunm Majeed.

        Peace,

Ayat 33/56 has nothing to do with salat.

Now that the prophet is dead, he is in no need of anything from us.

He was promised forgiveness and the blessed abode, while we need to worry about both
attaining forgiveness and the blessed abode.

        All have a blessed Ramadan!

        peace

1st according to The Qur'aan SALAAT is for GOD's commemoration only. We are not to mention anyone else in our SALAATs but ALLAAH, swt. See 2014 below among others.

Verily I, I am ALLAAH, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and establish the salaat for My commemoration.

          2nd Regarding verse 3356,

Verily ALLAAH and His angels SALUTE the prophet. O you believers, SALUTE him and submit yourselves submissively.

The verse renders three separate meanings.

1). ALLAAH, swt, and His angels SALUTE the prophet.
2). ALLAAH, swt, commands the believers to also SALUTE him.
3). ALLAAH, swt, commands the believers to also submit themselves submissively to the religion, i.e. to the deen of ISLAM.

The Salutations are for the LIVING prophet at the time, and the LIVING believers were obligated to it to SALUTE the prophet in respect during his lifetime whenever and wherever he was present before them, just like saluting and paying respect to the people in AUTHORITY.

Also one is not to ASK GOD to salute the prophet, because GOD and His angels already did that anyway, no need to ask for it.

The only Qur'aanic act of respect to be paid toward messengers of GOD is to say "Peace be upon him/pbuh" when we here their name. See 37181 below.

          And peace be upon messengers.

          Peace,
          Khalil

I don't think anyone but God should be mentioned in Salat. But the question for me in 3356 is what is the Arabic meaning? SUPPORT the Prophet? Or SEND BLESSINGS UPON the Prophet? Big difference. Does anyone know?

I looked it up in Lane's Lexicon. Did not find it to mean "SUPPORT". Other meanings include, MAGNIFYING, PRAISING, BLESSING, and PRAYING FOR.

It is third person masculine plural verb with subject pronoun referring Allah the Exalted and the Angels. It is imperfect verb with evident mood INDICATIVE.

The imperfect indicative mood verb does not restrict itself to any idea of time; it indicates enduring existence, begun and incomplete, either in past, present or future time.

                And peace be upon messengers.

There is no verb "be" in this complete sentence. Salutations-tranquility-state of complete peace are bestowed upon the Messengers.

Salute To acknowledge and praise and honour sombody for something with a gesture or in words.

Generals salute the graves of unknown soldiers as heroes of war or their state.

I have found this to be true. Muhammad = praised one forever or for an indefinite
                    period of time.

Perhaps "you shall greet him" is not a proper sentence in English when it relates to law and rules. It is not about the determination of the Speaker, Allah the Exalted but is a command. In law parlance, it means "You the believers are hereby directed-----"

                          Peace Mazhar,

"you shall" is a directive, a command

                          shall verb \shl, shal
past should \shd, shud\ present singular & plural shall

                          Definition of SHALL
                          verbal auxiliary
1 archaic a will have to must
b will be able to can

2 a ?used to express a command or exhortation <you shall go> b ?used in laws,
regulations, or directives to express what is mandatory <it shall be unlawful to carry firearms>

The comma after "him" should be removed.

I said 3356 God and His angels acknowledge the prophet. O you who believe, you
                          shall greet him, submissively.

It should be 3356 God and His angels acknowledge the prophet. O you who believe,
                          you shall greet him submissively

Or3356 God and His angels acknowledge the prophet. O you who believe,
you shall greet God's prophet submissively.

Or3356 God and His angels acknowledge the prophet. O you who believe,
you are commaded to greet God's prophet submissively.

The two sentences together create the context. One should understand that to "greet
him submissively does not refer to God or his angels, therefore no further directives are
                          needed.

                          All have a blessed Ramadan

"acknowledge the prophet" will convey to the reader the meanings of "acknowledge" as they recognize or admit him as prophet. Hence it is far distant as compared to the Arabic sentence.

                                  In post 7;

Know the fact Allah the Exalted and His Angels render commendations upon the Distinctly Elevated and Chosen Allegiant .

Verb like particle is brought in the nominal sentence to draw the attention of the reader and to emphasise upon him to know the predicate.

O those/you, who consciously proclaim to have accepted/become believers, listen!

You are directed to reverently commend and attend to him. And you are required to submit to him salutations showing obeisance in a humble and respectful manner.

                                    What is DAROOD or SALAWAAT?

The word DAROOD is not Arabic. The word SALAWAAT is Arabic. It is usually
believed that if we read SALAWAAT on Muhammad for a certain number of
times, our sins will be forgiven, so on and so forth.

If we see Quran, we come to know that it is not only human beings who are to do
SALAWAAT but Allah, His angels as well as the prophet also do
                                    SALAWAAT on human beings.

                                    Please see the following

                                    Allah?s SALAWAAT on human beings

2156 When a calamity befalls them, they do not waver. Rather, they say, "We
are for Allah, dedicated to His Cause and every step of ours will advance in
the Direction shown by Him." (9159).

2157 It is they on whom is SALAWAAT from their Lord and blesses with His Grace. And it is they, they who are guided to
                                    the most desirable destination.

The above verse clearly indicates that SALAWAAT can also be on human beings
from Allah. Now does this mean that Allah reads for a certain time SALAWAAT on
people? It does not make sense.

                                    Rasool?s SALAWAAT for human beings

9103 Accept their contribution for the community. Purify their thoughts with
proper education and training so that their "Self" may grow. SALLI ALAIHIM
Your SALAWAAT is a great source of peace in their hearts. Allah is
                                    Hearer, Knower.

In the above verse Allah has ordered Muhammad to do SALAWAAT on human
beings. Does this mean that Muhammad reads SALAWAAT on people for a
certain number of times? It does not make sense.

Allah?s and His Angels? SALAWAAT on human beings

3343 He it is Who bestows His blessings upon you, and supports you , and His angels, that He may bring you forth from darkness into the
Light. And Merciful is He, indeed, to those who attain belief.

In the above verse Allah and His angles do SALAWAAT on momineen. Does this mean
that Allah and His angels reads SALAWAAT on people for a certain number of
times? It does not make sense.

SALAWAT of human beings for RASOOL

999 And among the Bedouins are those who believe in Allah and the Last Day and
consider their spending as a means towards Allah and a means of
SALAWAAT-E-RASOOL . This will raise their ranks
with Allah. Allah will embrace them with His Mercy. Verily, Allah is Forgiving,
                                    Gracious.

The above verse explains the concept of SALAWAAT by describing ?Spending? as a
                                    means of ?support?.

Now see the most commonly referred verse according to which momineen should do
                                    SALAWAAT on Muhammad

3356 Verily, Allah and His angels bless the Messenger and support his Mission
. O You who have chosen to be graced with belief! Support his
                                    Mission in total submission.

Consider all the above verses and decide yourself.

Is SALAWAAT just from Momineen for Muhammad ?

                                    The answer is no.

The SALAWAAT is also from Allah to human beings.

The SALAWAAT is also from Muhammad for human beings.

So when Allah does SALAWAAT on human beings, Does He read something for a
certain number of times on human beings?

SALAWAAT is not reading something for a certain number of times but practically
doing something i.e. supporting Muhammad?s mission by whatever means
                                    we can.

SALAWAAT is not something that should be a bone of contention whether there
should be a SALAWAAT before azan or not. It has an utterly different meanings
                                    and objectives.

By using "acknowledge" or "recognize" will be meaningless unless it is clarified as to what is that which is to be acknowledged or recognized. "Acknowledge" and "recognize" need to be specified. Because of that I preferred "commendation" which is perhaps precisely closest to Arabic verb.

Commendation praise of somebody's abilities and recognition of an outstanding achievement.

Distinctly Elevated and Chosen Allegiant is the translation for "AnNabi". "prophet" is a wrong choice because this word has in it the meanings and reference to "prognosticator" also.

reverently commend The Arabic verb itself indicates upon abundance, excess and increase. I could not find a single word which could portray fully the verb. We commend or salute also in routine or just habitual manner also, as is done by uniform personnel. Arabic verb has built in reverence.

Tasleeman It is a Verbal Noun in accusative case; used as Cognate adverb It explains the manner in which the action takes place.
