Questions on Moses' story

Maryam was called once in the scripture as "the sister of Haroon" who is "the son of Moossa's mother", which makes them (Moossa, Haroon, Maryam) as brothers and sisters.
Funny, I saw that, but I dismissed it, that it's not the same 'Haroon', probably because preconceived ideas and bias. http//web.gay.hr/smilies/doh.gif
Moses' elder sister was the one who followed 'the basket' to Pharaoh's place. I also wonder if Pharaoh's wife had any children of her own, considering that she saw Moses and was happy to keep him for herself.
I realize this is mainly for my curiousity, but I'd appreciate if anyone can point out something I missed, like Someone just did. D

Maybe there is some indications which prove this is the same Haroon?
I wonder a question, why does the God speak to Mary as the sister of Haroon and not the sister of Moses and Haroon or the sister of Moses?
Does she have one or two brothers?

- I know that Pharaoh was ordering the killing of children and raping of women... but from this verse - 4025, it looks like this was AFTER the truth had come to them through Moses.
maybe it was only a continuation, a way to emphasise or to order to continue with what they have already been doing... imo it does necessarilly mean the practice started only then... But you may be onto something...
- Moses had a brother, Aaron ... How did Aaron escape death, if the children were being killed from the time of Moses? Moses had a sister too. The verse said "killing their children", didn't specify male only.
maybe punishing started years after he has been born...
and the expression sister(just like brother) is far from being restricted only to physical or blood relationship on contrary...
imo in this case its obvious that its non physical sister, sister in faith or law or chastity....

Apparently, from the context of sura 28, it looks like this was a countinuation of what they were already doing...like, from 2804 to 2807 and then what pharoah's wife says in 2809..."slay him not".

This family bit is confusing...but maybe not all children were killed and they did find ways of hiding/protecting them...maybe others will come up with more explanations regarding this...

Moses was being raised by Firun as Harun was not. Everyone would know her as the sister of Harun. Who knew Moses was her brother but the family?

I think there is a chronological order in the following verses
- Say ?We believe in God and in what was sent down to us and what was sent down to 1) Abraham, and 2) Ishmael, and ) Isaac, and 4) Jacob, and the Patriarchs, and what was given to 5) Moses and 6) Jesus, and what was given to the prophets from their Lord; we do not make a distinction between any of them and to Him we surrender.?

Yes, but the verses are given to those after that time. Everyone who reads the quran, is aware that Moses was not Pharaoh's son. Infact, if I'm not mistaken, atleast a few others (during that time) were too.and the expression sister(just like brother) is far from being restricted only to physical or blood relationship on contrary...
Agreed. I just thought the expression, "son of my mother" was a little 'stronger'. At some point I was even considering the possibility of Aaron being the Pharaoh's child. ?...but maybe not all children were killed and they did find ways of hiding/protecting them...
I think this is probably the case... maybe I'm looking too hard into this.I guess I thought I'd missed something in the story. Nevertheless, thank you all for helping, and opening my eyes to even more avenues, AlhamduliLlah. D

I don't imagine that Harun was the son of Fir3oun but he might be a step brother of Moses, the same way as Yusuf was to his brothers. And Mariam was a descendent of the tribe of Harun. Because in Arabic we do have this expression The Sister of Men (meaning men of great courage, integrity and honor) and The Brother of Al Arab. So the Sister of Harun could very possibly mean a descendent of Harun tribe.
But how could the baby Harun escape the slaughter?
He was definitely much younger than Moses and most probably was born when Moses was a young man in Fir3oun?s court at which time Moses had managed, with his status as the 'great' son of the 'great' Fir3oun, to curb the slaughter raids.Taj
