How do we verify God?
-
Firstly, I haven't looked much into this Code 19 thing, but from all I've seen, I really am inclined to not believe it.
My question is in relation to the following verse
You shall not accept any information, unless you verify it for yourself. I have given you the hearing, the eyesight, and the brain, and you are responsible for using them.
I suppose "verification" is ambiguous. I like to think of it in terms of objectivity, such as what is done by science. However, how do we verify God's existence? I'm curious to see what others think.
I think a more accurate translation would be
And do not uphold what you do not know for certain.
Of course we are responsible for what we uphold and all the garbage of dumping on the "scholars" or "scientists" our responsibility for what we uphold is garbage. We may follow something without knowledge if we do have to take some course or other and we choose the one we find more likely to be the right one, but what we must not do is to assert somethign for certain without ourselves having knowing it for certain.
Obviously there are many things that we cannot verify, we must trust a chain of responsibilities for that. Like for instance that we are not cheated in what we buy and we cannot verify on the spot, like the ingredients of processed food, or the engeneering of engeneering goods, etc.
However, there are things we can verify ourselves, we can ascertain by ourselves. Knowledge about people, about behaviour of people, for instance. We are usually bombed with news coming out of this or the other poll or statistics or whatever which tell us that people are so and so, that women are so and so or males are so and so, or that younger peopole this or that. Those things we can verify ourselves, We live amongst people, we deal with people, if we do know something it is about people.
God comes within that. ?How on earth can any scientist or scholar tell us something about God of which they should know more than ourselves. God is not within more reach of a scientist than of anybody. If we follow the definition of God, whichever, we know that we cannot encompass, Him or Her or IT, that it is beyond our reach that we only can know hHim from His manifestations in the things and phenomenon we can grasp. As to knwo God, we cannot ask anybody but ourselves, and those who really experience God personally. Not scientists as such, but persons who experience, and persons who experience can be anybody. Because God is everywhere and is in us, close to us. We are the experiencers. We should ask ourselves and verify, indeed, ourselves. We should know whether we, ask and He or She or IT answers. Adn we may exchange with other people that also are sincere and experience as objectively, that is, with as pure a heart, as possible. Purity in the spiritual sense, is precisely objectivity. Empty ourselves of anything preconceived and experience.
No, out of the question that God should be verified by scientists or scholars as such. But, of course, they can contribute with knowledge that we also may judge and contrast with our own experience.

And never concern thyself with anything of which thou hast no knowledge verily, hearing and sight and heart - all of them - will be called to account for it !You shall not accept any information, unless you verify it for yourself. I have given
you the hearing, the eyesight, and the brain, and you are responsible for using them.Sahih International And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed,
the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all those will be questioned.Simply means, we will be held accountable for the paths we each take towards judgement
day. We should be careful, especially of things that are contrary to the guidance/revelation
given to us.I suppose "verification" is ambiguous. I like to think of it in terms of objectivity, such as what is done by science. However, how do we verify God's existence? I'm curious to see what others think.
God is not asking for us to verify him (17/36) because he is the one who will hold us
accountable. If he is going to hold us accountable then he cannot do so unless he exists. One of the beauties of Quran kareem is that it is very confrontational, it gives only two
choices, accept or reject the evidence is the ayats (signs).peace

peace,
For word-for-word Arabic, see
http//corpus.quran.com/wordbyword.jsp?chapter=17&verse=36#(17361)e.g.
And do not follow what you have no knowledge of.
Truly, the hearing, the sight and the heart - all will be questioned of this.In other words, educate oneself as best you can when you can, then decide what to do/follow/etc.

Peace Peachy,
I am sure you can find information about the so-called code 19 in the appropriate section of the forum.
Briefly it means some people believe the Quran contains a code-like system God has hidden in His Book based on integer 19, which is thought to be a proof of its divine authorship. It is generally attempted to be reinforced through the claims that you can find non-coincidental combinations of counts of 19, either as simple count or through a multiple of 19 such as 38, 57 etc. It is, for example, 19 letters in the basmala, the opening verse of each chapter but the 9th and there are 114 chapters in Quran which is a multiple of 19. Chapter 9 lacks a basmala but there is an extra basmala 19 chapters later, which is the introduction to Solomon's letter to the Queen of Sheba.
This is what is the fundamental part of what people generally refer to as code 19. Many people heavily oppose this and call it a modern piece of conjecture and a blasphemy.
I tried to remain neutral above and to be factual. Personally I believe in code 19 myself, but I think proving its validity is like proving the existence of God. I feel I am unfairly mocked when I discuss this topic and so I avoid it. The code 19 is just there to prove or strengthen the signs of God's existence and nothing more, nothing less.
God bless you

7430 over her/it nine ten (i.e. nineteen)
7431 and not made we companions/owners the fire except angels and not made we count theirs except fit?natun/temptation to the those who kafar/reject theyIt's an infatuation/fitna with number/numerology using selective reporting i.e. they comb the book and universe for multiples 1/19 or 5% everything looked at that fit are kept displayed in glorious fashion while anything that is not multiple 18/19 or 95% failed trials are hidden from attended audience to beguile which does not fit are discarded e.g. verses 9128-129 are rejected by the infatuated.

...I suppose "verification" is ambiguous. I like to think of it in terms of objectivity, such as what is done by science. However, how do we verify God's existence? I'm curious to see what others think.
Can ONE of the building CELLS of my body see me as a WHOLE human, or even feels me as a WHOLE being? I'm using this question only as an ANALOGY to help you think about the gravity of your curiosity. I'm not trying to compare anything to GOD, the Almighty at all.
We are bound within the matter. GOD's essence is IMMATERIAL. See verse 4211 below.
The Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you mates from yourselves, and for the cattle (also) mates. By this means He creates you. There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.
Science is all about the explanation of the MATERIAL world. Science is unable to step into the IMMATERIAL realm. The only way we can explain the existence of GOD, swt, is through logical Philosophy, like the good old CAUSE & EFFECT, not scientific facts. Thinking of it in terms of OBJECTIVITY is not a valid one.

Sorry, what is "Code 19"?
7430 over her/it nine ten (i.e. nineteen)
7431 and not made we companions/owners the fire except angels and not made we count theirs except fit?natun/temptation to the those who kafar/reject theyVerse 7430 is not about code 19.Let me expose
1)7428
"Soon (I) roast/drive him in the saqara"Saqara in free-minds translation was translated as "scroching heat".The Ramadhan also means "scroching heat".
This is the meaning of word "saqara" according to Lane's Lexicon dictionary"The sn scorched, or burned, him, altering the colour of his comple and ihin, (g,' TA,) and pained him, or pained his brain by its heat"
Then what is saqara/scorching heat in 7430?? The answer is HELL.Why??The case is similiar with THIS THREAD.
- Translation of 7429
Translation "A signal to human being" (Free-minds)
"Burning the skins" (Moshin Khan)The actual meaning of the red word is "table, panel, board, slab", but in the usage of 7429 this is what it means.
So according verse 7429 the "saqara" is a scorching heat which is the burnt/sign to bashara (skin but can also mean human)- Now lets go to verse 7430
"Upon it is nineteen".
According to this verse, upon the "saqara" is nineteen.
Then what nineteen?? mathematical code??The answer is the next verse (7431)"And We have made the guardians of the Fire to be angels; and We did not make their number except as a test for those who have rejected, so that those who were given the Book would understand, and those who have faith would be increased in faith, and so that those who have been given the Book and the believers do not have
doubt, and so that those who have a sickness in their hearts and the rejecters would say ?What did God mean with an example such as this?? It is such that God misguides whom He wishes, and He guides whom He wishes. And none know the soldiers of your Lord except He; and it is but a reminder for human beings.REDThis verse started with "and" (), this means this verse is a continuation from verse 7430.
It's like the relation of verse 288 and 289"(28And they said ?Our hearts are sealed!? No, it is God who has cursed them for their rejection, for very little do they believe. (289) And when a Book came to them from God, authenticating what is with them; while before that they were mocking those who rejected; so when what they knew came to them, they rejected it! The curse of God be upon the rejecters.(Free-Minds)
See if verse 288 and 289 is related each other.
So if we combine verse 7430 & 7431, the result will be like this
"Upon it is nineteen And We have made the guardians of the Fire to be angels; and We did not make their number except as a test for those who have rejected, so that those who were given the Book would understand, and those who have faith would be increased in faith, and so that those who have been given the Book and the believers do not have doubt, and so that those who have a sickness in their hearts and" (Free-Minds)
So the conclusion is 19 in verse 7430 is not a matematical code, but it's somethings which existed in the saqara (hell) and the possibility it's amount of hell guardians.
Plus the purpose of number 19 is for a "test for those who have rejected" (see the blue word)If that 19 was talking about code 19, then it will be out of context because verse 7426-31 is talking about hell, sign ,schorcing and not talking about mathematic at all
Peace.
