The problem is that some people understand mamluk in the sense of property or posession exclusively, but it is not necessarily so. Mamluk may be somebody over whom somebody else has authority, a subject of authority not a property.

    Salaam

The Verbal Sentence creates-lets emerge a relationship and a state/circumstance between the Subject and Object of Verb.

Action of the transtive verb creates impact upon the object; and it becomes passive participle; one upon whom certain action is done. When someone is under the control and authority of someone else he is Mamlukan; that is the effect of act done in above sentence. Authority and responsibility are inseperable in this case.

Yes, but that sentence written as malakat aymaanikum not malakat ibadikum. What the mamlukan posses is ayman or yamiin.

It's the meaning of aymaan or yamiin right, right side, oath .Even in Lane Lexicon also said this.

Now the more simple question is, why you suddenly translate aymaan as slave? what is the base??

Mamluk may be somebody over whom somebody else has authority, a subject of authority not a property.

      Autharity to who??

aymaanikum so long it is the subject for malakat; then whoever is the object of this verb will become under the authoritative control; and obligation-responsibility of the aymaanikum.

malakat ibadikum If it is genitive case only by typo and "u" is there and verb is preceded by "Ma" it will signify that which is held by your servants-allegiants.

          ma maalakat aymanukum

The object is ayman, so what mamlukan control, responsible for is "ayman"/oath?

Now I ask you what is the oath or right hand in 2431?

I was teaching my Help for the Convert Class and I had a sister that almost floored me with her statement. She was told by her husband that he could have sex with their maid because Allah allows Him. That the Prophet had sex slaves like Maryam. Men are allowed to have intercourse with maids/servants since they are right hand possessions nope Imagine her horror as a 2 month convert!

            Peace,

To be honest I really feel disgusted by the women's husband and his sexual desire. No sane person will support this kind of slavery.

One of my dreams is to be an emancipator.

However I also feel bad for myself because I can't contribute anything on this thread because my arguments against slavery are too simple and easily be refuted (

It's better for the woman to leave the sex-maniac husband. He is also blaspheming God and islam.

            And dear kgwithnob,
Are you supporting the husband's claim?

            Regards,
            Yuliana

Wow guys thanks! Very interesting posts.

I had the same feelings as most of you. The funny thing is, in her contract he agreed to no polygamy. Guess it was his way around it? Who knows they got married after a week, so whatever. I just told her no way was this God's will to okay rape and or sexual relations without consent and marriage. I told her to me, right hand possession does not to mean "slave whom you can force sex on" More of a form of protection and for those who could not be married in traditional ways, such as a freed slave speaking on her own authority, and not her family's. I did print out the articles from here and gave them to her to read and reflect.

Why was this so hard to explain to another?

              Thanks again.. as always.

Assalam alaikom everyone. Hope you all are well.

I know there were many topics on this. I tried to explain but it gets confusing to explain. I was trying to remember the quotes from Quran that many posted here. I also tried to find an article that explains the right hand possession.

Anyway this girl is freaking out about the maid and will not think of leaving the house when she is there. I told her I would get some information on Right Hand Possession and she could study and decide for herself.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much. )

Sex with the maid would clearly be adultery (Arabic root word in Quran FHSh), which is prohibited. MMA has nothing to to with concubines, slaves, or servants. Besides, why would she still be with this guy? Why freak out? Just leave him! (This forum needs a facepalm smiley).

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

                  Salaamun alayki Christine,

I think this verse is enough for everyone who wants to justify shameless acts and directs this to Allah.

                  728
728 And if they commit lewdness, they say "We found our fathers doing such, and Allah ordered us to it." Say "God does not order immorality! Do you say about Allah what you do not know?"

                  Salaam,
                  Bender

                    Peace,

The woman's husband is a nut, playing her for a fool. Did he purchase the maid from a seller? Nowadays a maid is not what "your right hand possess" or a bunch of different Arabic terms, but an employee, it's a job, she can quit her job and get another job. Warn the wife that she is being played.

Under the guise of their apparent faith, they repel the people from the path of GOD. Miserable indeed is what they do.

                    peace

Exactly hawk! I told her please be careful.

Bender, excellent Ayah! Gotta put that in my memory.

Most of the converts in my class are very well rounded. I guess some just seem to change, without knowledge but for the "one they love" which is not God but some crazy guy who is charismatic (most likely a green card seeker-my opinion.) God knows best. You would be amazed actually how many have asked me in private "Do we have to follow hadith?" I just smile and say it is up to you, I only follow God and the message of the Messenger. I only quote Qu'ran anyway in my class. If they want something else, I send them to the Imam.

                      Thanks again all.

I am at great pains to believe that anybody can have said what that husband apparently tol his wife of a right to have sex with the maid. He was kidding her or he was making an experiment on gullibillity. It is so preposterous. An I am amazed that she has taken it seriously. The right answer would have been fine, I will do as much with the plumber, he can also be considered a mma, plumbers, at least on the scene, are well known as sexual providers.

                        Salaam
