    Fare thee well sister,

The life of a righteous Muslim/Believer can be a lonely one and this has a logical explanation. If you read Quran you will see that most people are not believers and most include idol worship in the religious practice, so in fact most people are destined for Hell without even have been judged yet.

Think it over if it is worth using your religion as a mere social function and have fun with bad friends for a few decades or wait a while and have eternal good friends in the Hereafter. I vote for the latter.

It does not mean you cannot socialize with non-believers if they want to listen or talk with you, but they cannot be allies or people you rely on for religious purposes. If they joke about God or try to persuade you to do something unrighteous you have to go away and not participate.

Remember it is better to have one good friend than ten stray ones. And do not be blind to who wishes to be your friend.

Keep your heart open and look, eventually you will find them. It took me almost 30 years of my life to find worthy friends but they remain a lifetime, and God willing for eternity if they are eligible for Paradise when time comes.

    God bless you

      Shalom Aleikhem,

I only have a Muslim friend who helps and supports me (Sunni Muslim). It's incredibly lonely. The other Muslim my friends have left me. It is difficult to practice Islam when I have so few Muslim friends, but I try as best I can. Crying just thinking about this. The only thing that helps the sadness is to listen to the Quran.

I am afraid that I shall be apostate Muslim eventually if nobody supports me. Islam is in my heart, but without Muslims is difficult '(

May be you should focus on making friends instead of trying to make muslim/christian/jewish/etc friends. Make sure you are focused on finding "good" people so that you may befriend them. Good people will be good and reasonable. That should solve your problem as I believe that there are good people from all walks of life and from all kinds of backgrounds.

      Peace
      ------------ Student of Allah

Muslim communities, in this day of age living in ignorance is not all that great. I miss the days when I was the only Muslim in the village, I could practice how I want, how I believed.

Now I'm in a Muslim majority area of a town, I see my so called brothers of Islam dealing drugs, trying to force them on older girls or young women, claiming pretty much anything is part of Islam in order to get themselves ahead, financially or otherwise. I have to watch my back and watch my mouth.

I miss living in the village, the people might not have called themselves Muslims, but many were God fearing and whether they were or not, they were all good people.

So yes, seek friends who are good, if they fear God, even better, if they are Muslim too, brilliant.

            Peace Aaleyah

I do not know. I had facebook and then we had contact but I deleted facebook. And after that they have not made contact. I made now a new facebook and said hello to them, and that I miss them and send friend request but they have not accepted or responded to the message

Don't only easily judge if no one respond your post in facebook or another social onlines, that means your friends really hate you or abandoning you. It's normal I think.
Yeah in fb, forum onlines, our posts may often abandoned and not responded, but don't judge so easily if they hate you, abandoning you and maybe they're busy or lazy for typing words. It's impossible if someone hate/abandone you withouth any reason.

              Salaam,

I agree roughly with Earthdom. I myself closed my facebook account some months ago, sending a message to my main contacts with my email address if they would like to contact me afterwards, and only one non-muslim contact replied to say "Hello". The other muslim contacts didn't reply. Then I continued doing my work on my side and meditating. Sometimes there are some people who must go away from us and there are some pretexts that make them automatically going away maybe. I think there is a certain wisdom in this kind of event.

Hello sister, congratulations on accepting Islam first of all.
Secondly, I am alone too and I have found the most happiness being this way. God and yourself are all you really need. Find things you like to do, take up new hobbies and create a desire in yourself to be the best person you can be, for yourself, your family and God. I have found that friends can often pull you down rather than take you up. Enjoy the serenity of doing what you want to do and learning about yourself. Additionally, you won't find much of value with the average Muslim community. A lot of them, mostly young people, do not even read the Quran and ave been indoctrinated by false beliefs. In my experience, my faith has actually faltered being around such people. Keep God close to your heart and you will have all the friend you need.

I like what Student of Allah said

"...May be you should focus on making friends instead of trying to make muslim/christian/jewish/etc friends. Make sure you are focused on finding "good" people so that you may befriend them. Good people will be good and reasonable. You may interact with those who are not of your faith and once they learn that your values are different they may want to learn why!!

6008 He does not forbid you to deal kindly and justly with anyone who has not fought you on account of your faith or driven you out of your homes God loves the just.
