Yes, women in Hijab have sex. Yes, there may be legitimate reasons why such a topic would be discussed. Yes, it can be a mature discussion.

Well, I suppose that soon will be the appointed time by Burhan to let down the veil of this matter and reveal

            WHAT?

            tempt tempt tempt tempt

            Salaam

ok, the wait is over ...............

I had long suspected that the forum is essentially hijacked by a few ? but it?s not their fault I hasten to add. It is because of the way the forum is engineered, the way it operates technically favours the noisy few.

Another suspicion I had was that sex sells. Certain keywords can really get a response whilst other more deserving posts don't see the light of day.
Some very important questions get left unanswered and issues never discussed.

I never bothered to go into detail on this, until it affected me.

I recently posted a topic with the word ?help? in the title. It barely got 30 views before being dismissed on to page 2 or 3. Since the view counter is not distinct I would say probably 10 unique people generated those 30 views.

?What! Only 10 people bothered to read it. It?s one thing not being able to respond but at least take a look. I ask for help and that?s all I get.? is what I thought furiously. Then I realised that I was not alone and there were several factors at play.

Firstly, for a topic to be seen, it really needs to stay on the front page for a number of days. This can only happen if someone replies to it within the first 24hrs ? due to topics being sorted by ?last reply date?. If that doesn?t happen - you r post is toast.

The second reason is keywords. After some research on the forum I compiled a list of words and themes in topics that got the most replies and views. The magic theme guaranteed a response was Women sex and hijab ? and it didn?t disappoint when I tried it. Aren?t most free-minders guys ?

The third reason is core-users. I would say there are about a 100 of them and they visit the forum at least once or twice in 24hr period. They get to keep the topics that interest them on the front page simply by getting in there first. Some of the topics are ridiculously long started many months or years ago but kept on the front page usually by 2 or 3 posters.

I think the solution to this is technical. The default sort order should be the date a topic was created. I?m sure there other technical measures that can be taken to improve the forum experience.

I may be a good idea. At any rate a commendable effort and valuable analysis, by Burhan.

                Salaam

Your post was viewed, but it did not elicit enough intrigue for people to post on the thread. I don't get it.

                    Salaam es,

I think he wanted to see how much attention the thread would get just because there is "sex" in its title.

                    God bless you

Yes, but he's talking about people posting, isn't he, and not many people posted on his thread. That's my point and that's why I don't get it. I have no idea what he's on about.
