Sorry brother, nowhere in the world an explanatory/giving reason clause and a prepositional phrase clause can change the subject and predicate of a sentence. The subject of the sentence is and its predicate is Both are masculine plural and not a single women is included in this pair of words. Thereby, the later pronouns referring back to them have no women in them to refer.

Nobody has changed anything. I stand by what I said and I will be happy if anybody makes anything out of your grammar discourses. Only once that I remember have I found any of your gibberish as helpful or right. grammar.

I stand by what I said unless somebody brings up a real refutation.

What's the point of this thread?

You don't have any valid argument at all.

You just copy and paste random translations.

You do not bring your Arabic lexical proves here.

Monotheist translation is a sectarian-free translation. Unlike stupid Mohsin Khan's translation, Sahih International's translation, Unal's translation, they are sectarians.

Because many say so, it is so? Because many say A, so it must be A? Please don't use the argument fallacy 'ad populum' to argue. It is invalid.

Is wife beating allowed in Islam?

PS I speak Arabic fluently, because I am Egyptian!

        peace angel_one,

I agree with you that the monotheist translation is incorrect on 434. Others also say it means "separate from them" but their is no "from" in the Arabic, and in a similar example in Quran shows one might expect it to be there

Afanadribu AAankumu al ththikra = Should We withdraw from you the reminder

However, the other translations you posted of 434 are also incorrect in my view. By far, the most coherent, logical and practical answer can be found here
        http//www.quran434.com/wife-beating-islam.html

The men are supporters/maintainers of the women with what God bestowed on some of them over others and with what they spent of their money, so the righteous women are dutiful; guardians to the unseen with what God guarded. And as for those women you fear their disloyalty, then (first) you shall advise them, and (second) abandon them in the bed, and (lastly) cite them. If they obeyed you, then seek not against them a way; Truly, God is High, Great.
And if you (authority) feared a rift between them two, then appoint a judge from his family and a judge from hers. If they both want to reconcile, then God will bring agreement between them. God is Knowledgeable, Expert.

With regards to the "maintained by oaths" that is correct in my view.

PLEASE NOTE No one can understand EVERYTHING in the Qur'an perfectly without their enlightened interpretations, even if the Arabic language is his native language! SOME words in the Qur'an are very difficult to understand without Tafsir (interpretation, explanation, exposition). Some words may also have multiple meanings and the context helps us determine the particular meaning of the word.

Tafsir al-Jalalayn translated by Feras Hamza
Men are in charge of, they have authority over, women, disciplining them and keeping them in check, because of that with which God has preferred the one over the other, that is, because God has given them the advantage over women, in knowledge, reason, authority and otherwise, and because of what they expend, on them , of their property. Therefore righteous women, among them, are obedient, to their husbands, guarding in the unseen, that is, their private parts and otherwise during their spouses? absence, because of what God has guarded, for them, when He enjoined their male spouses to look after them well. And those you fear may be rebellious, disobedient to you, when such signs appear, admonish them, make them fear God, and share not beds with them, retire to other beds if they manifest such disobedience, and strike them, but not violently, if they refuse to desist after leaving them . If they then obey you, in what is desired from them, do not seek a way against them, a reason to strike them unjustly. God is ever High, Great, so beware of Him, lest He punish you for treating them unjustly.

        Tafsir ibn Kathir
        http//quran.cc/4/34

        It was narrated that
Sulaiman bin Amr bin Ahwas said ?My father told me that he was present on the Farewell pilgrimage with the Messenger of Allah. He praised and glorified Allah, and reminder and exhorted (the people). The he said 'I enjoin good treatment of women, for they are prisoners with you, and you have no right to treat them otherwise, unless they commit clear indecency. If they do that, then forsake them in their beds and hit them, but without causing injury or leaving a mark if they obey you, then do not seek means of annoyance against them. You have rights over your women and you women have rights over you. Your rights over you women are that they are not to allow anyone whom you dislike on treat on your bedding (furniture), not allow anyone whom you dislike to enter your houses. And their right over you are that should treat them kindly with regard to their clothing and food.' ? (Sahih)

        http//sunnah.com/urn/1319250

'Amr bin Al-Ahwas Al-Jushami (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that he had heard the Prophet (PBUH) saying on his Farewell Pilgrimage, after praising and glorifying Allah and admonishing people, "Treat women kindly, they are like captives in your hands; you do not owe anything else from them. In case they are guilty of open indecency, then do not share their beds and beat them lightly but if they return to obedience, do not have recourse to anything else against them. You have rights over your wives and they have their rights over you. Your right is that they shall not permit anyone you dislike to enter your home, and their right is that you should treat them well in the matter of food and clothing".

          Quote
Ba3Duhum 3ala ba3Din is a reciprocal clause, very standard Arabic and widely used in the Qur'an. It certainly is referring to men and women, but it of course does not say that God favoured men over women, but that He favoured men over women in some things and women over men in some others., which in itself is not at all difficult to verify, God most certainly has not favoured men making them capable of getting pregnant and giving birth, so there is good reason to see that the reciprocal clause is quite justified.

Sorry brother, nowhere in the world an explanatory/giving reason clause and a prepositional phrase clause can change the subject and predicate of a sentence. The subject of the sentence is and its predicate is Both are masculine plural and not a single women is included in this pair of words. Let me clarify it for you through another angle.

Perhaps you are not aware that appearing after is also a Possessive Phrase. You see in the text only headnoun- because its which is plural masculine pronoun "Arabic-him" is elided and instead tanween is placed.

          See another example

Under discussion sentence is semantically the same as is this where the subject is First Person Plural pronoun referring to Allah the Exalted.

When the masculine third person plural pronoun would also include feminines

          Also please analyse this clause

This is giving the reason why certain men are declared as
And this has abundantly clarified that does not signify everyman in the world.

Not at all, you are making the whole thing senseless, but it seems that in this aya senselessnes is the king you may get away with it.

It is not saying some men are qawwamun, it says men are qawwmun, not some men are qawwmun, but asl rijaal, men in general. it qwould make no sense whatsoever that since some men are favaoured over others that all men are qawwamun, it could be, but the reason for sure would nto be that some men are favvoured over others.

Th saya makes sense and is correctly understood gramatically as taking the rijaal sand the nisaa as the two terms in the recirocity which is ALWAYS ast work with this clause. To say what you say it says, as I have already explained there are other ways to say it. As it is, it is inevitably reciprocal, no matter how much grammar grandstanding you bring forth.

The whole aya is always a mess up and lacking sense, that is why islamophobes make hay day with it and muslims contort themselves to bring something logical out of it, which they don't because the refuse to understand the obvious that men are favvoured over women and women over men, in that the first have the capacity to bring offsppring to the world and the second in that they are not encumbered by the pregnancies and all the conditioning that giving life entails.

That by virtue of that lack of encumbrance and therefore disponibility , men must contribute to society also as much as women do, and therefore support and maintain them, since the role of the woman is much more demanding. That is the part of duty falling on the men because of the favour of God to them. The part of the women because of the favvour of God on them is clearly expressed in

and the virtuous, devout women are guardians of the ocult that God guarded. What is it that they guard and that only they can guard because of their being women. Obviously not intimacy nor the house nor the secret of the husbands nor any of those things that some tafsirs bring forth, because the men should also guard women secrets, and intimacy and the good name of their wives and so on. The only thing women can guard but men cannot is the future human being in their wombs. That is why God says to reverence the wombs in aya 4.1.

Those are the two parts of the reciproity, very clear, nothing straneous no ambiguity. No speculation. Logical, clear and understandable. And it is about men and women. Wives and husbands are a subset within the whole of men and women.

            Salaam

I think you did not read my comment carefully enough. The Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has explained it clearly, and made it intelligible!!!

Sulaiman bin Amr bin Al-Ahwas said
?My father narrated to me that he witnessed the farewell Hajj with the Messenger of Allah. So he thanked and praised Allah and he reminded and gave admonition. He mentioned a story in his narration and he (the Prophet) said ?And indeed I order you to be good to the women, for they are but captives with you over whom you have no power than that, except if they come with manifest Fahishah (evil behavior). If they do that, then abandon their beds and beat them with a beating that is not harmful. And if they obey you then you have no cause against them. Indeed you have rights over your women, and your women have rights over you. As for your rights over your women, then they must not allow anyone whom you dislike to treat on your bedding (furniture), nor to admit anyone in your home that you dislike. And their rights over you are that you treat them well in clothing them and feeding them.? (Sahih)

Most people here are not hadith followers. Hadith is just a garbage and a curse to islam. There was no complete hadith until around 13th CE.
I have already told you that Monotheist Translation is not a sectarian translation. The translation that you support are mostly gender-biased, sexist, sectarian etc . Hadiths of Muhammad? LOL. NO! They are hadiths concocted mostly by Persian corruptors.

I did read your comment - and you didn't respond to anything argued in that article. That's why I reiterated that you should look at it, because it doesn't seem like you've read it. It discusses that hadith (among others) as well by the way, you posting it isn't a reply at all. There's very little for me to actually comment on beyond what's already been said, partly because the article pretty much sums up the discussion (mentions both the for and against arguments) and partly because there's very little substance of any sort in your posts so far, all you're doing is quoting hadiths (that alone isn't an argument) Please read the article and post a response to it. If you cannot do so immediately and need to take some time doing so, then by all means take your time.

Muslims rely on the Quran and the authentic hadiths. Does the Quran tell us HOW to pray?

                      The Qur'an A Monotheist Translation (2013 Edition)
Whoever obeys the messenger has obeyed God; and whoever turns away, We have not sent you as a guardian over them.

                      The Qur'an A Monotheist Translation (2013 Edition)
No, by your Lord, they will not believe until they make you judge in what they dispute with each other, then they will not find in their souls any animosity for what you have decided, and they will comply completely.

                      Again, Allah says

                      The Qur'an A Monotheist Translation (2013 Edition)
It is not for a believing male or believing female, if God and His messenger issue any command, that they have any choice in their decision. And anyone who disobeys God and His messenger, he has gone far astray.

                      Furthermore, Allah says

                      The Qur'an A Monotheist Translation (2013 Edition)
And you may take what the messenger gives you, but do not take what he prohibits you from taking. And be aware of God, for God is mighty in retribution.

                          Salaam,

We obey the Messenger when we follow the Message of the Quran. The traditional salat is a deliberate invention which contains complicated counting and idiocy that makes Believers lose focus on what the prayer is truly about. Not to mention excessive glorification of the Prophet Muhammad.

Who believes that the insanity you read in hadith of Muhammad is true?

Rather be called apostate than adhering to that stupidity.

                          God bless you

Sahih al-Bukhari is considered the most authentic book after the Quran, regarded by Sunni Muslims as one of the most sahih (authentic) of all hadith compilations. Sunni Islam is the largest branch of Islam, comprising at least 85% of the world's 1.5 billion Muslims. yes

Those who have divided their system and become sects, you are not with them in anything. Their matter will be with God, then He will inform them of what they had done.

And hold firmly to the rope (QURAN) of Allah all together and do not become DIVIDED. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided (Aali Imraan 103)

Who divided the system, the followers of the QURAN (ROPE OF ALLAH) or the followers of HADITH

Follow, , what has been revealed (QURAN) to you from your Lord and do not follow (BUKHARI / MUSLIM/ TIRMIDHI/ IBN MAJAH / MUWATTA/ ABU DAWOOD/ MULLAHS/ IMAMS) other than Him any allies. Little do you remember

The followers of the QURAN do not belong to any SECT but those who follow BOOKS other than the QURAN are SECTS.

                                56. God and His angels make contact with the prophet. O you who believe, you shall make contact with him, and comply completely.

                                1. Surely those who harm God and His messenger, God will curse them in this world and in the Hereafter; and He has prepared for them a shameful retribution.

                                Make contact? >

                                Umm Muhammad (Sahih International)
                                56. Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels . O you who have believed, ask blessing upon him and ask peace.

                                1. Indeed, those who abuse Allah and His Messenger - Allah has cursed them in this world and the Hereafter and prepared for them a humiliating punishment.

                                Muhsin Khan & Muhammad al-Hilali
                                56. Allah sends His Salat (Graces, Honours, Blessings, Mercy, etc.) on the Prophet (Muhammad SAW) and also His angels too (ask Allah to bless and forgive him). O you who believe! Send your Salat on (ask Allah to bless) him (Muhammad SAW), and (you should) greet (salute) him with the Islamic way of greeting (salutation i.e. AsSalamu 'Alaikum).

                                1. Verily, those who annoy Allah and His Messenger (SAW) Allah has cursed them in this world, and in the Hereafter, and has prepared for them a humiliating torment.

                                Ali ?nal
                                56. Surely God and His angels bless the Prophet (He always treats him with His special mercy, with the angels praying to Him to grant him the highest station of praise with Him, and for the decisive victory of his Religion). O you who believe, invoke the blessings of God on him, and pray to God to bestow His peace on him, greeting him with the best greeting. (Love and follow him with utmost sincerity and faithfulness, and give yourselves to his way with perfect submission).

                                ALI ?NAL'S INTERPRETATION
Calling God's blessings and peace upon God's Messenger, upon him be peace and blessings, at least once in a lifetime is incumbent upon every Muslim. And doing so at each mention of his name is a highly recommendable act. According to the Shfi' and Hanbal schools, it is obligatory in the last sitting of every Prayer (Salh) after tashahhud, without which the Prayer is not acceptable. According to other schools, it is sunnah.

Calling God's blessings and peace upon the Messenger, upon him be peace and blessings, is a link between him and the believers. His responsibility was extremely grave, and he is always concerned with the Muslims individually and collectively, even after his death. So calling God's blessings and peace upon him as a religious duty was not restricted to his lifetime. By doing so, we are also praying for ourselves, because we are both building an important connection with him and petitioning God through him to help us with our religious responsibilities.

Upon the injunction of the Messenger, upon him be peace and blessings, we must include his family and even his progeny in calling God's blessings and peace upon him.

That the injunction of calling God's blessings and peace upon him stays in effect even after his death, until the Last Day, signifies that praying for the dead is a valid religious act and may be of help for them.

                                1. Those who affront God and His Messenger (through disrespect for Him in words and acts and for His Messenger and Islamic values), God certainly curses them (excludes them from His mercy) in this world and the Hereafter, and He has prepared for them a shameful, humiliating punishment.

                                ALI ?NAL'S INTERPRETATION
The original word (which we have translated as affront) is adh. It is mainly used to express any words that hurt another's feelings. So the verse is warning us about any unbecoming words that we may utter concerning God and His Messenger, and Islamic values. The verse also forbids any disrespectful act toward God and His Messenger, and Islamic values.

It is just plain copying of the theme that the Christians are doing with Jesus. Believing that someone is a mediator between them and God. It is completely against the Quran. Without admitting it, it is totally the same kind of idolatry as the Christians.

                                  God bless you

We came to the Prophet (PBUH) and we were (a few) young men of approximately equal age and stayed with him for twenty nights. Then he thought that we were anxious for our families, and he asked us whom we had left behind to look after our families, and we told him. He was kindhearted and merciful, so he said, "Return to your families and teach them (religious knowledge) and order them (to do good deeds) and offer your prayers in the way you saw me offering my prayers, and when the stated time for the prayer becomes due, then one of you should pronounce its call (i.e. the Adhan), and the eldest of you should lead you in prayer.

I saw Malik bin Huwairith saying Takbir and raising both his hands (on starting the prayers and raising his hands on bowing and also on raising his head after bowing. Malik bin Huwairith said, "Allah's Messenger (PBUH) did the same."

                                        http//sunnah.com/bukhari/10/131

Narrated NafiDuring the affliction of Ibn Az-Zubair, two men came to IbnUmar and said, "The people are lost, and you are the son of Umar, and the companion of the Prophet, so what forbids you from coming out?" He said, "What forbids me is that Allah has prohibited the shedding of my brother's blood." They both said, "Didn't Allah say, 'And fight then until there is no more affliction?" He said "We fought until there was no more affliction and the worship is for Allah (Alone while you want to fight until there is affliction and until the worship become for other than Allah." Narrated Nafi (through another group of sub-narrators) A man came to Ibn Umar and said, "O Abu Abdur Rahman! What made you perform Hajj in one year and Umra in another year and leave the Jihad for Allah' Cause though you know how much Allah recommends it?" Ibn Umar replied, "O son of my brother! Islam is founded on five principles, i.e. believe in Allah and His Apostle, the five compulsory prayers, the fasting of the month of Ramadan, the payment of Zakat, and the Hajj to the House (of Allah)." The man said, "O Abu Abdur Rahman! Won't you listen to why Allah has mentioned in His Book 'If two groups of believers fight each other, then make peace between them, but if one of then transgresses beyond bounds against the other, then you all fight against the one that transgresses. (49.9) and--"And fight them till there is no more affliction (i.e. no more worshiping of others along with Allah)." Ibn Umar said, "We did it, during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (PBUH) when Islam had only a few followers. A man would be put to trial because of his religion; he would either be killed or tortured. But when the Muslims increased, there was no more afflictions or oppressions." The man said, "What is your opinion about Uthman and Ali?" Ibn Umar said, "As for Uthman, it seems that Allah has forgiven him, but you people dislike that he should be forgiven. And as for Ali, he is the cousin of Allah's Messenger (PBUH) and his son-in-law." Then he pointed with his hand and said, "That is his house which you see."

                                          Peace anGel-One, all.

Do We really believe God when He says

                                          ]

al-An`am 6114] Shall I seek other than God as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed? Those who received the scripture recognize that it has been revealed from your Lord, truthfully. You shall not harbor any doubt

                                          Also He says;

Quran 1827] You shall recite what is revealed to you of your Lord's scripture. Nothing shall abrogate His words, and you shall not find any other source beside it.

These are God's revelations that we recite to you truthfully. In which Hadith other than God and His revelations do they believe?

Is it the law of the days of ignorance that they seek to uphold? Whose law is better than God's for those who have attained certainty?

Here is a quote from one of the sources you provided
?When I say something contradicting the Book of Allaah the Exalted or what is narrated from the Messenger (sallallaahu ?alaihi wa sallam), then ignore my saying.?

When a source is not the " Qoran" It should not be followed according to the above verses.
Followiing other sources is contradicting the book of Allah!
Does " your source" understand what it is saying?

Of course some pick and choose from Qoran to justify other sources, but God answers them saying

Quran 752] We have given them a scripture that is fully detailed, with knowledge, guidance, and mercy for the people who believe.

In their history, there is a lesson for those who possess intelligence. This is not fabricated Hadith; this (Quran) confirms all previous scriptures, provides the details of everything, and is a beacon and mercy for those who believe.

This Quran guides to the best path, and brings good news to the believers who lead a righteous life, that they have deserved a great recompense.

And preach with this (Quran) to those who reverence the summoning before their Lord - they have none beside Him as a Lord and Master, nor an intercessor - that they may attain salvation.

                                          Whose words do we believe?

God has said what needed to be said.We do not need human words

                                          The Qoran
                                          18109
Say, "If the ocean were ink for the words of my Lord, the ocean would run out, before the words of my Lord run out, even if we double the ink supply."

Believe God or believe Humans? The choice is yours.

                                          Peace toall.
