Hi, I am new to Islam and to be true, I am new to studying religion. I was wondering, I see Islam in Christianity, Judaism in Islam, and I do read the Holy Qur'an. I don't see any out right hatred of anyone in the Qur'an. Why do we Hate?
We hate because we chose to do so. Being the fickle creatures that we are, we enjoy emphasizing perceived common traits and attributes between certain individuals and thereby creating categories of people. On that basis, we will discriminate between God's creatures, be they Muslims, Christians, Jews, homosexuals, Jamaicans, Russians, teenagers, working class, etc., etc., etc.

"We" hate without a reason since all mentioned religions are actually the same religion which worships the same God, only that the majority do not do so without committing idolatry.
Some of the hatred originates from clashes between Crusaders (Christian knights) and Muslim tribes many centuries ago. This strong dislike lives on still as of today. I think the Quran's passages and their translation/interpretation might also have led to belittling and "Muslims" thinking they are superior.
Another reason is intolerance and thinking what you believe is the absolute Truth without accepting difference in thoughts. But mostly the fights are over the idols of the respective sectarian members and strange man-made religious practices. Without obsession with the Messengers of the religions there would be less hatred, if people focused on worshiping God alone.
This is the reasons I can think of which answers your question "why we hate each other".

Except those among your sincere followers/ worshippers...who are devoted absolutely to you alone.
May the Lord substitute the "hate" in us with "Love" for Him and all His creation.

All mentioned religions is actually man made.

There are many reasons for the hatred, some of them are
- Because they were told to hate, either by their parents, relatives, friends, communities etc.
This is among the common reason, I've seen people hate Jews (for example) while he/she never met any Jew in his/her lifetime. - Because of the political conflicts, usually over land and/or influence
- Because of the envy and/or pride, this is the reason why The Devil hates Adam / humanity.

Definitely. some people are so insecure of their own belief / thought is true thus to build up their confident they NEED to show that other people belief / thought is FALSE or at least "LESSER" than their own. By doing this he or she will feel "BETTER / GREATER" than other people.
Example
- Quran is True, to build up my confidence that Quran is True I need to show or believe that Gospel is False or at least lesser than the Quran. Thus I can feel that me as a believer in (only) Quran is BETTER PEOPLE than those who believe in the Gospel. While there's no statement whatsoever within the Quran that Gospel is false OR Gospel is lesser than the Quran.

Yes certainly. I was just using the human term to have a religion as a term to express myself. Sorry. What I meant was that there is just one system/deen or what to say and all these man-made religions ought to follow that.

Spot on. There is no out right hatred in the Quran. In fact, there is no room for 'hate' of any kind. Just like anger, it is destructive. In the Quran, all groups are talked about in terms of some of them believe and some of them do not - the People of the Book, desert Arabs, those who called themselves believers in the time of Prophet Muhammad and so on. Some of those who believe may do so weakly, some may do so wholeheartedly. That is for God to judge and creating stereotypes or hate for groups or people or a person, is just wrong. I believe the reason we hate has already been mostly answered here, I just felt like adding that.

Let me also add a few grains.We hate others basically due to fear/insecurity and ignorance. That's the bottom line.
"We" denotes all human beings; not just certain groupings.
Fear and insecurity is THE main issue of the human race.Ignorance, while not actually being the core of the problem, can be viewed as a HUGE cause of hatred. Ignorance can be forced on you, or it can be chosen by you. But ignorance will only produce hatred when there is a presence of fear in you, and the absence of peace. Again, fear is the root cause of hatred. In turn, fear (and lack of peace) is present in us due to blindness to reality. This blindness is connected to the resistance/rebellion against Truth/Reality/God's system.
Rebellion/Resistance --> Blindness --> Fear/Lack of peace --> Hatred and all sorts of miseries and mistakes.
When we are blind to our real and true selves, we abuse ourselves with fear, worry, self doubt, low self-esteem, hopelessness...
This also spills over to other around us. We start fearing others and hence hating them. But actually, we are just hating our own internal IMAGE of others and the perceived threat. It is our own inner, ignorant, peace-less, fearful imagination that produces hatred (as a defense). This is why we are instructed to not fear anything but God. It is not easy to understand this instruction. It is extremely deep with profound consequences.All the divisions between religions, and even that between religion and atheism, are all fake. They are just mental constructs and they are of no good or positive use.
Since you say you are new to Islam (the world religion), islam (the natural and universal order of things as described in the quran) and religion in general, I just want to say one last thing
Don't expect to find God in religion! This is not a paradox. God is found everywhere, if you can see. To find God we must be soft within.
Religion is often times anti-sense, anti-reason, anti-logic, anti-humanity, anti-peace and hence anti-God. Religion is also often times pro-fairy tales, pro-division, pro-judgment. God guides, if we let ourselves be guided. Watch out for religious authority.Also, don't expect to find all the answers, and then having a ready and convenient package of fixed rules and truths. No, it's a JOURNEY and we will learn as we go along! Watch out for those who claim to have THE final answers of the topics at hand.
