Joining the US Army/AirForce

I was wondering, are we allowed to join the military of a non-muslim nation? I live in the US and I really want to go into the Air Force after college but I don't know if its Islamically OK to join a military that you know will be against certain Muslim nations. Any input on this subject? BTW, I am seriously considering it.

In my opinion, joining the U.S. military would be against the way of life that leads to Peace. The reason for this would be that MANY MANY innocent people are being killed in the wars that the United States has initiated. Remember, the United States is the aggressor, how can you fight for George Bush? The war is based on lies, chemical weapons were never found, are you willing to fight for lies?On the issue of Muslim nations; I do not look at Afghanistan or Iraq as a Muslim nation, do they follow God alone? I don't know, only God knows. However, this is beside the point, innocent people are being killed in these wars, this in itself is against the Reading we have with us. Unless you can provide evidence for the legitimacy of what the United States is doing, then I don't see how you can support the army?
Anyway this is just my opinion, but I don't see the United States army as something you should get yourself committed to.

The reason why I asked this question was because..... can you name one so called muslim country that is willing to fight and die to protect our religious freedoms as muslims who only follow the Quran?

Innocent people die in all wars. Isn't there some sort of duty upon us to protect our religion from the hypocrites and the unjust?

I think that one issue you will have to deal with as you join the US army is where does the decision come from? Does the army fight for GOD? or just for humans? Do the people that make decisions as to where you should go and fight look At GOD alone or the Qur'an when they make a decision for war?

What would be the PURPOSE of joining the Army? Whose ARMY is it? If one of your righteous brothers and sisters were being harmed would Your Army be at your disposal?
I won't fight for him, I'll fight for my country.
"My country" is yet another term of SEPERATION. Is there a "righteous country" that you would fight for?
The God is telling us that the MIND is WAY MORE POWERFUL than physical fighting. We only fight for self defense.
Please do not join any countries "army".

If you are refering to the USAF then I would give my opinion to be no.
In the US military machine you would only be a tool to be sent and used as the higher authorities see fit...You are not consulted on missions, nor is your input requested or desired...You would be a machine being ordered to drop bombs on men, women, and children who were secure in their soverign lands and whose only crime most times was to say no to US corporate imperialism.
You may be better off joining a militia if you are in the US...This will give you the training you seek (not fighter pilot though) and you have the freedom to state your opinoin and come and go at will.

That's what I said when the issue of the war on Iraq (terrorism roll ) came up. Do you have a choice on which wars to fight? No. Can you easily say, I believe this is not justified, so I'm not going? No. Unless if these issues of killing innocent people doesn't matter to you, then I think the answer is obvious.Just a side note, the other day they showed how the U.S. conned the recruits into thinking that they were only serving a certain number of years. People who served in Iraq, and came back to their families were re-called... they hadn't read some law where it states that your term can be extended indefinitely. They're trying to fight in the courts, but it doesn't look likely that they will win. They also re-called a 55 year old woman back to duty.

The american army is the real evil doer remember Abu Ghuraib! Join the freedom fighters if you seek a military style life where you have an opinion and you fight for GOD. Face it man america is evil now it's in the hands of the dark side (bush and his stooges). Bottom line capatalism is evil. Just remember who the true heros are and follow in there footsteps, i.e. Che Guevara, 2 Pac Shakur, Omar Al Mokhtar, Malcom X, Martin Luther King, etc.

I rethought the whole idea and put it down the toilet. Joining the US Army means being another tool in Bush's agenda for world domination.

he said to me that he truly believes US are most rightful!? and he find it a good way to earn living!!?? he is justifying the killing of innocent by saying that US bring more good to the world than evil???!!!Your friend is joining for the sake of getting a job with decent pay, benefits, signing bonuses, etc. If he was joining for the sake of "righteousness" or "patriotism" then tell him to go for it but donate his salary and benefits to pay-off the national debt. I doubt that he would because it is not about "righteousness" but it is more likely to be about the inability to get a decent job elsewhere and about making money. That's the difference between a volunteer and a mercenary.

Ayman, how US are paying their army? is it the money of/from tax-payers or they borrowed the money from other country or from the banks, or they simply stamp the money as they needed it?
As far as i know US have no gold basis for each and every of the dollars they stamp/produce ? however i dont know if this gold standard is applied anywhere in the world...

What drives me crazy is that some people just don't understand his message and don't even want to bother because they call him a "Thug" and all that if you know what i mean. Ayman, thanks very much for the links and for the translation....but tell me what do you think, having this verse in mind together with 4824(the god has prevented your hands from them) does this all mean that the faithfull have intentionally stoped the military action eventhough they have almost won the battle from the fear that they might kill some inoccent and believeing people?

Likewise brother glad to meet someone who into Pac as much as me. Yeh many people are quick to judge superstars negatively but Pac replied intuitively with his track called ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE ME, it was very well said by the brother in reply to all the haters out there. Everyone sins and no ones perfect but Pac's message was strong and is still being used and appreciated by many.
