Death
-
354 Behold! Allah Said "O Isa! I shall cause you to die and I shall exalt you towards me and I shall clear you of those who reject Faith, and I am going to make those who follow you above those who reject Faith - until the day of Awakening. Then towards Me is your return, so that I shall decide among you as to in which you used to differ.
does ''mutawaffika'' literally mean DEAD here?
If it does then why not in the other verses? -
Peace Omari,
I think dreaming is like a preview of the other life. When dreaming, we are evolving in a world that doesn't exist in this world, since no one in this world is able see someone else's dream.
So I think that there are similarities between death and sleeping. When going to sleep at night, no one can guarantee his "ressurection" the next day, indeed when sleeping we are giving up alot of the control we normally have over ourselves or over the environnement, during awakening-time.

Peace be upon you Omari,
I havent had time to look at the verses that contain "wafat" to give an accurate response. I am definately interested in your questioning, just need more time. Hopefully others will give thier input as well.

Salam Omari,
In the scripture, it says that those who are killed in the path of the god are not dead, but are alive with their lord.
3168
Thus, ?ssa, if indeed was killed (?), is not dead, but is alive with the lord, like all those killed in the path of the god.

Peace be upon you all,
Can someone provide for me the root word for "wafat" so I can look in up in Burhan?

Peace,
Whay has ''Wafaat'' been translated in various ways?
Does it mean Death literally?
If not then how do you explian it's uses in other verses?'Wafa' simply means 'to take' and is almost always linked to the subject of death.
It relates to the soul being taken as a result of death.
With regards to Jesus, we can see he is clearly dead from his own use of the word in 5117.
