    Peace be upon you,

"FEELING sorry" is an emotion. Our natural state is one of PEACE where we see ALL challenges as events to further us.

      1. Piety is not to turn your faces towards the east and the west, but piety is one who believes in God and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Scripture, and the prophets, and he gives money out of love to the near relatives, and the orphans, and the needy and the wayfarer, and those who ask, and to free the slaves, and he holds the contact-method, and he contributes towards betterment; and those who keep their pledges when they make a pledge, and those who are patient in the face of good and bad and when in despair. These are the ones who have been truthful, and they are the righteous.

Idris and all, May Allah bless us
            Allahu Hakeem!

Thousands of people died with in few hundred yards from my house all around, except the street where I live and a few streets around us. Behind my street is the vast beach. We should cross 1500 meters of beach sand to reach the sea shore. Around 6.52 am there was mild tremor in most places. My house began to shake for a few seconds and then waves after waves of tremors rocked the houses everywhere. People came out of their houses on to the streets and began to move to the beach, the open space for protection.

            021.012
So when they felt Our punishment, lo! they began to fly
            062.008
Say "The Death from which ye flee will truly overtake you
            050.019
And the stupor of death will bring Truth "This was the thing which thou wast trying to escape!"
            003.154
            They said "What affair is this of ours?" Say thou "Indeed, this affair is wholly Allah's. Even if you had remained in your homes, those for whom death was decreed would certainly have gone forth to the place of their death";
            004.078
"Wherever ye are, death will find you out, even if ye are in towers built up strong and high!"

By 7 am all houses were evacuated to the open space. People in thousands were running like mad to the palce of safety, the open space and where they got themselves accumulated is the vast beach. Up to 8.30 am it was calm except a few tremors, but were very fainlty felt. All of a sudden there was a huge wave in the horizon, a terrifying sight! People sensed the danger and stood numb, unable to move with their stares fixed as the wave approached with such blinding speed of over 350 kms per hour. In split seconds the wave hit the shore and on to the land and entered into the city. The waves reached up to 60 feet high. Cars and boats, the early morning walkers, catamarans, children playing on the streets and every section of people irrerspective of race and creed were piled up in one stroke of wave and the next half minute the whole beach was empty bald and dry as the sea receded back with the same incredible speed that we could literally walk towards the horizon on a dry path. We were witnessing the likeness of musa's history of dividing the sea, the dry path and closing of the sea but with a difference undreamed of!

The sea was like pond in a far off distance at that moment. Then again with in seconds there were giant waves springing from below the earth shooting into the sky, This time as if there was no horizon but sky alone above us. The most horrifying event that one can never imagine. Watching this from the terrace of the building we were only praising Allah; we were prepared to die if we were to. Not a slight feeling of fleeing our house entered our hearts but calmness. Mashaallah! A great event was happening before our very eyes. I am writing those ayats that came in to my mind in waves after waves as I was watching the drowning of the people of Nooh, Lut, Saleh; Musa, firuan and his armies caught between the land of tremors and the drowning by the sea. As the sea receded back to the size of a pond and coming forth charging against the land, it seemed as if an enormously built giant-like glass tank over 60 feet high and its breadth like miles of sea, filled with muddy water was thrown from nowhere. We saw Allah's ayats coming true and that He saves who wishes. Only a few streets around us were left dry without water even touching it.

            Allahu, wakil

Death by itself is not a punishment but a natural process, having many ways, by His Decree. In a calamity like this, the towns and cities and nation like srilanka were wiped out. Since we all have to die one day, the age of death is not a matter of concern at all. If they are good they would have died peacefully, while at the same time the infidels and ingratitudinous ones should have suffered a miserable death.

                Regarding the death of babies/adult

First we aught to know that every one once born has to die sooner or later. To increase or decrease his life span is in the hands of Allah as you see from the following verse

                035.011
And Allah did create you from dust; then from a sperm-drop; then He made you in pairs. And no female conceives, or lays down, but with His knowledge. Nor is a man long-lived granted length of days, nor is a part cut off from his life, but is in a Decree. All this is easy to Allah.

Death is thus is not a sad event but natural process whereas retribution and punishment is. To some the death is easy like a blissful dream with absolute peace. But to the rejectors the death is as follows

                008.050
And had you seen when the angels will cause to die those who disbelieve, smiting their faces and their backs, and (saying) Taste the punishment of burning

                006;093
If you had seen when the unjust shall be in the agonies of death and the angels shall spread forth their hands Give up your souls; today shall you be recompensed with an ignominious chastisement because you spoke against Allah other than the truth and you showed pride against His communications.

Children would not have spoken against allah nor rejected the truth nor would they have been guilty of pride. If such is their case they will be rewarded even as their souls were being received by the angels with such beautiful words like this

                016.032
Those whom the angels cause to die in a good state, saying Peace be on you enter the garden for what you did.

Apart from this if you ask any further, I am obliged to answer you brother mozmahe.

Allah knows who is who whereas we do not; Even as we were in the stages of conception He knew who we were. For example once Bush was a baby 60 years ago. Had he been killed at that time, the people would have blamed God for the incident. Now there are many people around the world including UN who are unable to find an answer why Bush was left alive by God? As a baby had firaun been eliminated people would have felt pity for him and blamed Allah. But when he was a king many dispised him and prayed to god to destroy him.

                018.074
Then they proceeded until, when they met a young man, he slew him. Moses said "Hast thou slain an innocent person who had slain none? Truly a foul thing hast thou done!"

                018.080
"As for the youth, his parents were people of Faith, and we feared that he would grieve them by obstinate rebellion and ingratitude

                Allahu Hakeem.

                    Elena,
                    May God Show Us Mercy

Here after we have to think they will die and also believe it is not in our reign to decide on the life span of a man, baby or otherwise. Do we think we are going to live forever?

                    042.049 ; 042.050 ;
To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills. He bestows male or female according to His Will. Or He bestows both males and females, and He leaves barren whom He will for He is full of Knowledge and Power.

                    021.034
We granted not to any man before thee permanent life if then thou shouldst die, would they live permanently?

The Messengers from Allah have been sent to all the places of destruction, warning the inhabitants of their wrong doings that they turn towards repentance before tsunami took over. Yet they ignored. Thus,

                      006.131
Thus, for thy Lord would not destroy for their wrong-doing men's habitations whilst their occupants were unwarned.

Peace be upon you Brother Fazl,

I am glad that you made it through this experience.

This event should have verified the SYMBOLISM of large bodies of water being the UNSTABLE EVVIRONMENT and the dry land being stable which we discussed a short time ago.

It certainly increased my faith in this position as I watched the news and saw so many different films of people being washed away after just a few minutes before enjoying sunshine reclined on beach chairs.

"We will show you our signs in the horizons and within your minds until you know this is the truth"

This is not something to just believe, it is something you can KNOW.

This is very interesting. I am finding bodies of humans, but I have yet to see a dead animal,'' said Wijeyeratne, whose hotel in the park was totally destroyed in Sunday's tidal surge. Maybe what we think is true, that animals have a sixth sense,'' Wijeyeratne said. Yala, Sri Lanka's largest wildlife reserve, is home to 200 Asian Elephants, crocodile, wild boar, water buffalo and gray langur monkeys. The park also has Asia's highest concentration of leopards. The Yala reserve covers an area of 391 square miles, but only 56 square miles are open to tourists.

When the earth is shaken to her utmost convulsion,
And the earth throws up her burdens from its confines,

My seeing of god's sign firsthand, when the sea threw up its burdens from the deep of its earth had led me to, even a stronger position that Allah does things by a command 'be' and it is all there before our very eyes to see it as plain as it could be. I saw the dry land and the sea being made to recede to the size of a pond putting an end to all speculations of symbolisms.

Be Beleivers in such signs inscribed in the reading as real that god's command will "be" there for our needs if we are sincere in our faith that we see them through our naked eyes and that we live them for real. For Musa, Allah divided the sea; For Nooh, Allah cleaved the heavens to pour down and then the gushes of waters springingforth from the earth to drown the transgressing community. There are many many ways unknown to us to come as revelations and revealing of the same. Hereafter no more allegories but real, for, we have seen the reality.

The fact that the animals are not destroyed by the tsunami is an indication that god's wrath is upon the human indifference towards being righteous. There is still time allowed for the entire humanity that they be god fearing orelse, the animals and all the creatures will be wiped out from the surface of the earth.

If Allah were to punish men for their wrong-doing, He would not leave, on the earth, a single living creature but He gives them respite for a stated Term When their Term expires, they would not be able to delay the disaster for a single hour, just as they would not be able to anticipate it.

                                  Peace,

The human bodies are mixed in with dead animals like dogs, fish, cats and goats," said Marine Colonel Buyung Lelana, head of an evacuation team in Indonesia's Aceh province on the island of Sumatra

                                    Peace Bokmei,

Yala, Sri Lanka's largest wildlife reserve, is home to 200 Asian Elephants, crocodile, wild boar, water buffalo and gray langur monkeys.
I think it's interesting to see the difference with the animals too. I don't count domesticated animals in that group. They have too much human influence. Wild animals on the other hand (not tamed or in zoos), do sense nature in a different way.

I also wonder how close this area is to the ocean.

Very interesting analysis of Tsunami disaster in the light of Qur'an. Allah bless you.

                                        Peace,

Here's an interesting email I received

                                        Friends

22000 people have so far been counted as killed in east asia
due to high Tsunami Waves following the
major earthquake deep in Indian Ocean. Fishermen living
in huts along the coast were most badly hit. Quite tragic!
May all who looks for merit, help the victims in whatever
way they can, by supporting the helping organisations...

However, the destruction of lust, anger & confusion are
killing millions of people prematurely each day !!!
These mental forces are much more destructive than any
earthquake! The vibrations of the major earthquake could
be sensed during meditation. So can these fierce forces
of Greed, Hate & Ignorance... These invisible 'killers'
though, never hit the worldwide attention on Television!!!
May they in the future achieve a proper consideration...

Friends, there are these four floods. Which four?

The flood of sensing, the flood of becoming,
the flood of views, & the flood of ignorance.
                                        These are the four floods...
