was the prophet allowed to marry an believing woman who offerred herself to him?
-
Could a married believeing woman offer herself to the prophets according to this ayah?of course that is not allowed for everyone surely .This being what is said only for the prophet and not other believers? -\
O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee; and daughters of thy paternal uncles and aunts, and daughters of thy maternal uncles and aunts, who migrated (from Makka) with thee; and any believing woman who dedicates her soul to the Prophet if the Prophet wishes to wed her;- this only for thee, and not for the Believers (at large); We know what We have appointed for them as to their wives and the captives whom their right hands possess;- in order that there should be no difficulty for thee. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

wherein the verse is the mention of MARRIED WOMAN. And if you are referring then that does not mean MARRIED WOMAN but a WIFE / WOMAN. I am curious to know this.

........................and any believing woman who dedicates her soul to the Prophet if the Prophet wishes to wed her..........Such a woman can be either, married or unmarried - surely. -\
for such an example in the quran - see 33.37.

I thought from a different angle. I thought that a married woman weds the prophet without ending her previous marriage, Well that is permissible for the prophet just like in the case of Zaid.
But it is not for us brickwall yay
Take it easy
Thanks
