      Peace Betsy,

      Welcome back.

Can anyone tell me how to fix the time on my message? I posted this on Tue. at 319 pm and it came up Wed. 819 am. I live on the east coast of the US. Help!

The time option should be on your profile. You can change it to the appropriate setting. However, I'm not sure it'll make too much of a difference... considering you posted your message 'tomorrow'! lol

I converted to Islam after years of searching for God in my life. I thought I found him in other places only to discover I was putting MY concept of what I thought God should be, not who he is. Obviously as humans, we can never truly grasp the ultimate meanings of God, which is why he's God and well, we're not. But to have a book such as the Quran which is much clearer and without the discrepensies of the Bible for instance, which has a host of problems in the gospels as well as the rest of new testament. I don't know about you, but for me the Quran is so clear in its message to us that there really is no need for other books and commentaries. It was because of this and the fact that one worships God and God alone, that brought me to Islam.

              Greetings Betsy!
              And welcome back!
I would like to take this opportunity to announce my own return to the fold so to speak.

The last year has been a somewhat disturbing for me as I battled with a reoccurring sense of immanent judgement for having left the Christian faith and training for ministry in the church.

This sense of judgement came to weigh on me so heavily that I in fact decided that I should return to the church.

I did this, but after a time found that I could no longer force myself to appear as something that I was not any longer. I had to be true to God and myself.

I have since left the church and having done so feel completely at peace with my decision (this time round roll)

God has provided me the guidance I have always sought throughout my life. The Quran is my counsel and beacon on the right path.

I thank the God of Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad for the opportunity to live and serve him.

May God's peace be with you all, my brothers and sisters!

Hi everyone, I don't know how many of you remember me, my name is Betsy, I live in rural NH and I originally posted here in early August. I guess there was a computer glitch, and all data, including mine, was lost. So here I am back again. In a way, that glitch was a blessing for me, at the time, I got somewhat scared about my decision to become a Muslim, and needed to step back and and take a second look at what I had done when I declared to God there was no other but him. I had spent so may years on the spiritual path and had been let down so many times before, that I really needed to check things out.
You know, God is wonderful. He gave us free will, he knows our hearts and knows what we need before we even ask for it. He knew how I tend to leap before looking, and allowed me to really sit back and take a good look at my spiritual life. After a few months of soul searching and study, I again have found that for me there is nothing else but God alone for me.
Some of you sent me books for which I'm so grateful, those books where my lifeline to the truth! ) I can't thank you all enough. Anyhoo, I'm so glad to have finally found my place at the table of life and I just wanted to write and tell you all about it.

                    Betsy D

Remember its important that you follow a sound belief and not a sect that was made by some members of free-minds after 1400 years. Read history and see how islam came to existance.

                      Good idea...
Let's study history and see how islam "came to existance".
Well, first of all, do the work yourself. You can read about Islam in the Quran, in the Bible, in other religious texts, in secular texts describing good deeds. So, go ahead and study history... and don't forget to go back at least to the dawn of man. Of course, only about 1500 years or so back in history won't show very much of the history, will it? Most importantly.. make sure your definition of 'islam' is straigh and correct!

                      idea

Nice to hear from you b-lansing!

Allow me a correction...The God dont want of us to convert to Islam but to be submissive to Him....this might seem as nitpicking, however it is very important to use the most correct terminology since we learn through the words and based on the words we form the concepts and belief in our heads, and of what is in our head depends what kind of destiny we will have in hereafter...will we end up in the eternal fire or will deserve the bliss.

Islam is only one of the arabic words/terms that is misuderstood and innapropriately used...add up few words more( and there is plenty of them outthere) and you get a terrible accumulating effect which is able to horribly change our perception of the truth and the god`s message....

                        best wishes to all, Zlatan
