    Peace folks.

What is your understanding of the following verses/signs/ayat?

660, 3942 "In that are signs for a people who will think."

Transliterated Arabic "Wahuwa allathee yatawaffakum biallayli wayaAAlamu ma jarahtum bialnnahari thumma yabAAathukum feehi liyuqda ajalun musamman thumma ilayhi marjiAAukum thumma yunabbi-okum bima kuntum taAAmaloona"

Free-minds 660 ?And He is the One who seizes you during the night, and He knows what you have done during the day, then He sends you back again to complete an appointed term; then to Him is your return and He will inform you of what you used to do.?

Transliterated Arabic "Allahu yatawaffa al-anfusa heena mawtiha waallatee lam tamut fee manamiha fayumsiku allatee qada AAalayha almawta wayursilu al-okhra ila ajalin musamman inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yatafakkaroona"

Free-minds 3942 "God seizes the souls at the time of their death; and for those that have not died, during their sleep.
He then keeps those that have been overtaken by death, and He sends the others back until a predetermined time.
In that are signs for a people who will think."

    Peace

        Peace Habibullah.

My understanding from both verses , GOD is simply saying that death is like sleep.

Getting up after sleeping is like resurrection...until you fulfill your interim that GOD had allowed for you.

If you die in your sleep, your time is up and you wake up at resurrection day.

        Peace to you.

I've always wanted to make a study of all the occurrences of that phrase.

I think if you want to get to the bottom of this you'll need to catalog each occurrence of the phrase "In that are signs for a people who will think."

          فَاسْتَبِقُوا الْخَيْرَاتِ
So strive as in a race in all virtues! 5:48

            Peace,

God is implying to persuade the reader of the Truth and if one is open-minded the narration in the Book will cause one to believe. That is the meaning of "in that are signs for a people who will think". If you study the Message and realize God is really real then you had enough signs in the analogies to believe.

Signs in creation is a good way to start believing. I begun to believe in God before I read 'the Book' for the first time, so it is fully possible to simply observe the world to begin your Faith career. It was also the way Abraham found out about the Truth.

            God bless you

Peace be unto you all and thank you (all of you) for your replies,

What is it you get from those verses/signs/ayat I have posted? What in it makes you believe in a god?
Is there some scientific claims? Philosophic views? or is it the phrase in itself that make you believe?

There are people who believe in things (1736), and there are people who only accept(iman) things they understand by thinking and analyzing.

I would like to put some focus on the following

1 ? ?And He is the One who seizes you (al-anfusa/NAFS 3942) during the night(sleep 3942),?
2 ? ?and He knows what you have done during the day, then He sends you back again to complete an appointed term (660)?

              ? He (God) ?yatawaffa al-anfusa? during night-sleep

              • What is the ?nafs?? Is it another word for ?Roh??

              • ?He shaped him and blew into him from His Roh. And He gave you the hearing, the eyesight, and the brains; rarely are you thankful.? 329

              • Created from one single ?nafs? ?He it is Who did create you from a single Nafs? 7189

              • Is this how God gets to know everything we have done? ?and He knows what you have done during the day, then He sends you back..?

              • Where does our nafs/(roh?) go during our nightsleep?

              • What happens during night sleep? Dreams? Are dreams a reflection of reality? 37100-37109, 124,12100, 1236-37, 1241-49

              • Dreams last no longer than a few seconds or minutes but sometimes it feels like hours/days- does the "nafs" travel to higher dimension during the night sleep? Is this why dreams are sometimes felt so real? Does the Following verse / sign / aya tell us something about time or the distance the NAFS (maybe roh) travel? "The malaika and the Roh ascend unto him in a Day the measure whereof is (as) fifty thousand years. "704

?And they ask you concerning the Spirit. Say "The Spirit is from the authority of my Lord; and the knowledge you were given was but very little." 1785

Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds. 12

Dreams could be regarded as signs of God. It is a miraculous event.

                God bless you

Is this subject not of any interest? Or is there something wrong in what I have written?
                  Peace
