Hello everyone
-
Salams Everyone,
I was born in Pakistan in a relatively conservative Sunni household. During my time in Pakistan I met a lot of peers, scholars, muftis etc you name it. Also spent some time on the road with the Tableeghi Jamaat. I have been deeply involved with and seen from up close the traditional religious setup over there. I moved to the UK in my twenties and have been living here since then. I am now married and a proud father of two beautiful kids.
I have always believed that there is something missing in the traditional understanding of the religion. But I have mostly kept these thoughts to myself as discussing these in the open can easily get you killed no matter which part of the world you live in.
The only place left to discuss and look for answers is the internet, which led me to discover this forum. On some other forums you are quickly shouted down and bullied if you want to clear your doubts about any traditional teachings but here people can talk like rational adults.
I am here to learn, as part of my journey towards the truth, so please be patient with my ignorance.
Peace on you

Sometimes I wonder how many feel the same way and keep it to themselves. The internet isn't the ~only~ place, but it is the most convenient for sure...it gathers people from around the world in relative safety.
May ALLAH see fit to Guide all seekers.

Peace,
This forum has been very helpful for me as well. I have only been able to discuss my beliefs with a very few people around me. Most people in my area are not very open about these issues. I pray for sincere guidance for you. Peace to you and your family! sun
