    Salam brothers and sisters! )

Only Allah knows when one dies . I could die tomorrow , ten years , about forty years , etc.

What if I die soon. I am registered as a Sunni Muslim in the state. But there are some problems. I'm not Sunni Muslim anymore. In addition, my parents think that I am not a Muslim at all anymore. They were so happy when I left Islam. Now I dare not say to them that I am a Muslim again

If I die they will say to Sunni mosque that I am not a Muslim. And I will get a non- Muslim funeral. It's better with Sunni funeral , than a non -Muslim funeral I think. I dont like that I'm registered as a Sunni Muslim. But it 's certainly better than being a member of the church.

I dare not sign me out of Sunni Islam mosque. Then they think I have left Islam . Something that is not true, since I just switched Muslim direction. So i come to be a member there for the rest of my life.

Should I tell my parents I'm Muslim? They're going to be so angry. but it's the only way I can get Muslim funeral if I die . Best to be on the safe side , I mean . You might think it 's stupid of me to think about funeral now. But it is important to me because I never know when I die . And I want a dignified, proper burial that is within my religion. If you understand .

Why do you think a Sunni funeral is better than a non-Muslim funeral? Remember that your religion / faith is between you and God only; you don't have to register with any mosque or church.

        Thanks for the answer
I thought that Sunni funeral, is more like the Muslim way. I thought you had to be buried in a special way to get to heaven or is it just within Sunni? But if it does not matter how funeral I have then it dont do so much.

          Salam sis,

I wouldn't concern myself too much about the burial.

If you're registered as sunni-muslim AFAIK you have to be buried with muslims, though it all depends on where you live and rulings behind it. You could possibly ask someone in the industry how it all works. plus it might depend on who pays for the burial? also I think people can request things before death i.e. put it in their will.

I know there are people who wouldn't ever be considered muslim to the mainstream due to their acts but they're still buried in hope that their sins will be forgiven or they will hear some blessing or some other stuff.

Anyway the sunni burial has a lot to do with traditions, I don't think the standard process is wrong but as Aqua said your beliefs are personal and only God knows all our actions and what's in our hearts.

wherever we are buried or not (think about burn victims, undiscovered deaths etc) we're still going to be accountable.

My best advise is call up funeral/burial places and ask them how do they decide who gets buried within their cemeteries and if people can request/buy plots etc for their own burial within specific sections i.e. muslim burial.

          peace

            Peace,

It does not matter much. When you die you give up the spirit and leave. A burial without polytheistic rituals would be desirable if possible to choose. Sectarian Muslim burials are not free of such elements as far as I am concerned. The manner a burial is conducted should not pose much difference as long as they are free of polytheism/association with other than God. If you have been promised that and done your part there is no blame on you when you have died that they bury you in a different way than you wished while you were alive. Therefore if they give you a burial with polytheistic elements then you are not guilty of anything.

            God bless you

              Peace all.

At the point of death, everything is already decided. Your fate with your Creator is one or the other. You will certainly know it when the Angel of death makes the visit.

It is too late, the funeral will not make a difference. What kind of funeral , with whom it will be conducted or whether they they throw your body to the sharks is but a formality.

              God bless you.
              Peace.

We don't have to be buried in a special way to get to Heaven. The Sunni way of funeral is just the Sunni way, and the Qur'an does not specify a certain way of funeral for believers. Instead, to get to Heaven we need to believe and be righteous before death, as the following verse states

"The men who submit and the women who submit, the men who believe and the women who believe, the men who are devout and the women who are devout, the men who are truthful and the women who are truthful, the men who are patient and the women who are patient, the men who are humble and the women who are humble, the men who are generous and the women who are generous, the men who fast and the women who fast, the men who are chaste and the women who are chaste, the men who remember God often and the women who remember God often - for them God has prepared forgiveness and a great reward." - (3335)

Also, the Qur'an makes clear that after death, there will be no chance to make amends and there will be nothing else to save us but our past

"Guard yourself from a day when one person will not avail another, nor will intercession be accepted from them, nor will any ransom be accepted, nor will they be helped." - (24
