    Peace,

Below, a list of verses which contain the word HIJAB translated as Barrier / Screen / Veil..

    1. And between them is a barrier, and on the elevated platform are men who recognized others by their features. And they called out to the dwellers of Paradise ?Peace be upon you!? They have not yet entered it, but they are hoping.
Wabaynahuma hijabun waAAala al-aAArafi rijalun yaAArifoonakullan biseemahum wanadaw as-habaaljannati an salamun AAalaykum lam yadkhuloohawahum yatmaAAoona

    2. And when you study the Quran, We place between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter an invisible barrier.
      Wa-itha qara/ta alqur-anajaAAalna baynaka wabayna allatheena layu/minoona bial-akhirati hijaban mastooran

    3. And we place shields over their hearts, that they should not understand it, and a deafness in their ears. And if you mention your Lord in the Quran alone, they run away turning their backs in aversion.
WajaAAalna AAala quloobihim akinnatan an yafqahoohu wafee athanihim waqran wa-ithathakarta rabbaka fee alqur-ani wahdahu wallaw AAala adbarihim nufooran

    4. She took to a barrier which separated her from them, so We sent Our spirit to her, and he took on the shape of a human in all similarity.
Faittakhathat min doonihim hijaban faarsalna ilayha roohanafatamaththala laha basharan sawiyyan

    5. O you who believe, do not enter the prophet's homes except if you are invited to a meal, without you forcing such an invitation. But if you are invited, you may enter. And when you finish eating, you shall leave, without staying to wait for news. This used to annoy the prophet, and he was shy to tell you. But God does not shy away from the truth. And if you ask his wives for something, ask them from behind a barrier. This is purer for your hearts and their hearts. And it is not for you to harm God?s messenger, nor that you should marry his wives after him. This is indeed a gross offence with God.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tadkhuloo buyoota alnnabiyyi illa an yu/thanalakum ila taAAamin ghayra nathireenainahu walakin itha duAAeetum faodkhuloofa-itha taAAimtum faintashiroo walamusta/niseena lihadeethin inna thalikum kanayu/thee alnnabiyya fayastahyee minkum waAllahula yastahyee mina alhaqqi wa-ithasaaltumoohunna mataAAan fais-aloohunna min wara-i hijabin thalikum atharu liquloobikumwaquloobihinna wama kana lakum an tu/thoorasoola Allahi wala an tankihoo azwajahumin baAAdihi abadan inna thalikum kana AAinda AllahiAAatheeman

    1. He said ?I enjoyed the good of materialism more than I enjoyed remembering my Lord, until she was hidden by the veil.?
Faqala innee ahbabtu hubbaalkhayri AAan thikri rabbee hatta tawarat bialhijabi

    2. And they said ?Our hearts are veiled from what you invite us to, and in our ears is a deafness, and there is a barrier between us and you. So do what you will, and so will we.?
Waqaloo quloobuna fee akinnatin mimma tadAAoona ilayhi wafee athanina waqrun wamin baynina wabaynika hijabun faiAAmalinnana AAamiloona

    3. And it is not for any human being that God would speak to him, except through inspiration, or from behind a barrier, or by sending a messenger to inspire whom He wills by His leave. He is the Most High, Most Wise.
Wama kana libasharin anyukallimahu Allahu illa wahyan aw min wara-i hijabin aw yursila rasoolan fayoohiya bi-ithnihima yashao innahu AAaliyyun hakeemun

    Thanks

      Peace sister Marie,

I think that barrier is appropriate. I don't think that veil is appropriate. It is funny how sectarians use 3353 to justify that women must wear veils. The order in 3353 is to the men and not to the women. I doubt that The God is ordering the men to wear veils. )

      Peace and all best wishes,

      Ayman

Thanks for your help, my question is does "khatam of the prophets" in 3340 or "Khitamuhu miskun / The seal of it is musk" in 8326 have any connection with barrier?

        Thanks in advance

        Marie

This is exactly what I was thinking about as I read this compilation of verses. BUt I never compiled the verses about barrier.

What do you think after reflecting sister Marie?

khitam (8326) and khatam (3340) are not the same word but have probably a common notion which could be "final".
The god uses the word "Hijab" to say barrier and I don't see the conncetion between "khatam and khitam" and barrier.

            The God knows best.

I understand "khitamuhu miskun" as his rear/after /final taste is musk, in 8325 we read that this pure nectar is sealed, the word "miskun" is its seal .

            1. They are given drink of pure nectar, sealed.
              Yusqawna min raheeqin makhtoomin

I would use "the seal/print" for 3340 only if we read khitam of the prophets instead of "khatam of the prophets".

In my humble opinion, khatam doesn't mean the print /seal or screen but the final.

I will ponder more about this subject the god willing.

            Peace

              Peace all,

I wonder a question, could we understand this

              kana muhammadun khatama alnnabiyyeena
Muhammad is/was the Closing Seal of the Prophets

              as

              khatama Allahu (AAala) alnnabiyyeena bimuhammad
The God has sealed the prophets with/by Muhammad

5727 Then, in succession, We followed them up with (other of) Our Messengers. We caused them to be followed by Jesus son of Mary
Thumma qaffayna AAala atharihim birusulina waqaffayna biAAeesa ibni maryam

              What do you think?

              Thanks

                Peace,

The structure of 3340 (muhammad) is similar than 367 (ibraheem)

3340 Muhammad is not the father of any man among you, but he is Allah?s Messenger and the Closing Seal of all Prophets. And Allah, indeed, is Knower of all things.

Ma kana muhammadun abaahadin min rijalikum walakin rasoola Allahi wa khatama alnnabiyyeena wakana Allahubikulli shay-in AAaleeman

367 Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was an upright man who had surrendered to Allah. He never ascribed divinity to anyone beside One True God.

Ma kana ibraheemu yahoodiyyan wala nasraniyyan walakin kana haneefan musliman wama kana minaalmushrikeena

                Idem for 3144 and 575

                1. And Mohammed is but / is no more than a messenger, like many messengers that have passed before him. If he dies or is killed will you turn back on your heels? And whoever turns back on his heels, he will not harm God in the least. And God will reward the thankful.

Wama muhammadun illa rasoolun qad khalat min qablihi alrrusulu afa-in mataaw qutila inqalabtum AAala aAAqabikum wamanyanqalib AAala AAaqibayhi falan yadurra Allahashay-an wasayajzee Allahu alshshakireena

                1. The Messiah son of Mary, is no more than a messenger; like whom messengers have passed away; and his mother was trustworthy, they used to eat the food. See how We clarify the signs for them, then see how they deviate.

Ma almaseehu ibnu maryama illa rasoolun qad khalat min qablihi alrrusulu waommuhu siddeeqatunkana ya/kulani alttaAAamaonthur kayfa nubayyinu lahumu al-ayatithumma onthur anna yu/fakoona

                FM
                616. And when Jesus, son of Mary, said ?O children of Israel, I am God's messenger to you, authenticating what is present with me of the Torah and bringing good news of a messenger to come after me whose name will be acclaimed.? But when he showed them the clear proofs, they said ?This is clearly magic.?

                I lean toward ahmad(u) as a qualifier like almaseeh(u) for Isa (345), akbar/greater(676, 2945), azka/pure (1819), abtar/loser (1083), aAAma/blind (1319).

Like Isa, Muhammad is no more than a messenger like many messengers that have passed before him.

                Peace
