Another newbie here!

Asalaamu Alaikum Everybody!
I'm a teenager who have a huge curiosity about the culture, society, and the world.
Since a year ago, I learn about Islam deeply especially about interpretations in which many practices done by Muslims.
The reasons I research deeply about this issue is because some of my family members who follows mainstream interpretation of Islam shared their ideas in which I disagree. They follow conservative scholars while I prefer analysing from the Qu'ran.
I also questioned about the contradiction of the hadiths and wonder why so much restrictions is placed.(like music,plucking eyebrows,drawing living beings etc).
I come to this forum few months ago and I like how you guys debate and analyse intellectually based on Quran unlike other forums that says 'haram' based on the words of conservative clerics and cultural justification.
After doing a deep research, I believe Qu'ran should be used strongly for laws and the hadiths that are good (and authentic as well) can be used for guidance for supporting words from the Qu'ran.
So yeah, that is how I am in this forum now.Please tell me a bit about yourself and your beliefs as you're responding

Forgive me for I can't tell you about what I've been through until I left 'Sunni Islam', because it's very unique and personal, and I prefer not too openly sharing my peculiar journey in here.
However, related with the hadith, the conclusion I got from my research is that I have to leave all man-made hadiths.
I can't trust them anymore, so now I don't use them to support my faith.
I already left them all, and inshaAllah will remain that way.

Peace and welcome to the forum. I believe in God without being overly obsessed with any scripture although I think what we commonly refer to as "Qur'an' to be very inspirational as well as the "on-the-fly" guidance straight from God that anyone can get by melding with The Master. For me there is no religion called Islam but either you believe in God and live in symbiosis with your Maker or not. It is quite black and white to me. On or Off. It is the adherents to particular faiths that create names for themselves and God gives no labels to people. In fact God does not even have a name but calls Itself al-elah (literally the god in English). It says itself that it is not a proper name.
I used to be an atheist or nearly one at least, and the pathetic impression the world religions gave me turned me away from studying it from the sectarian perspective. I believed in paranormal and supernatural forces from early teens however, and during that time I was also a victim of a paranormal event (I keep that a secret to myself), but I did not understand what had happened to me until about 20 years later. Today I know almost what happened. While in my late teens I philosophized and begun to contemplate existence and I drew the logical conclusion that there is a supernatural force in he universe that is in control of all this and that view I still have today and it was independent of world religions and I did not belong to a sect. Such is the situation still as of today. I loosely refer to myself as muslim today, but deep inside I know I am only a "man of faith", no label attached.
I never accepted the deification of Jesus and I was a monotheist from some time in my early 20s when I dropped my delusion that I had "special powers" and that the only reason I had been through strange life events was because I had a guardian protection, ie The Master protected me for some reason. My delusion nearly drew me insane at an occasion, but I finally managed to see the truth as I shaped up in life and I stopped petty crimes, drugs, alcohol and lies, and reformed into what I am today, a 'man of faith'. And today I know I am only an ordinary albeit blessed man and in fact I barely know what God saw in me. I try not to be arrogant due to my blessings, but if I come across like that I beg your pardon. I devoted myself and promised The Master to join on the mission and I have humbled myself to this incomprehensibly huge force in the universe.
Details on how I believe you can find if you browse for a thread called "Nearness and Guidance..." where I tried to graphically display our faith in a streamlined format. And my study revealed that in the end our faith is just about doing good, being good people and believing in God. Simple as that. It is a very simplified summary of God's system. Apart from that there is a decree which originates from Moses and reminded of jn the recitation to Muhammad (Quran) and contains no more than a dozen or two guidelines and that should never be interpreted too literally or you risk go astray. You should meld with God to prevent that to happen as God provides you with guidance as you become The Master's ally. Faithlessness caused the clerics of Jesus' time to be exposed as hypocrites because they interpreted the "laws" by the word and not with their brains and they were not close to God.

LOL. Please tell me what an 'authentic' hadith looks like, I would love to see what I have been missing out on. yay
Ergo if you're using hadith for guidance then I think you're still a bit lost to be honest. Even if you are 'just' using the ones that support the Quran, you're still telling yourself that God's scripture by itself is not enough. Danger!

I am trying say is that as a law,Qu'ran should be used instead of relying on hadiths. Even though hadiths are contradicting especially to the words from the Qu'ran, they can be useful for historical and translation research.
If some hadiths that does not contradict or add more rules and are similar to Qu'ran verses in ideas/messages, then I don't personally see a problem using them as a advice.I believe Qu'ran is a complete book that cannot be altered by other sources and hadiths should have strict critical approach. -
Hi welcome,,, I also find some hadith to be extreme the tell you basically how to live and be this perfect image of islam...they over complicate everthing...quran alone is much more easier to understand
I agree, not only complicated rules but, there is also sexist and offensive hadiths that contradicts the Qu'ran. nope
